Teaching aims: Enabling the students to 1. grasp the sentences in Everyday English. 2. know sth about Picasso. Teaching steps； Step 1: Everyday English on Page 38. Work in pairs. Choose the correct answer. Answers: ABABAA Step 2: Listening. Listen to the tape . While listening, try to find the answers to the following questions: 1) When did Picasso die? In 1973. 2) When did he have his first exhibition? At the age of 16. 3) When was his greatest Cubist painting Guernica painted? In 1937. Step 3: Reading Read the passage on Page 39. Cultural Corner. Answer the question: What do we learn about a) Picasso’s blue period? b) Picasso’s pink period? c) Picasso and Cubism? Answers: a) He painted the pictures in France from 1902-1904. Blue was the most important colour. They were pictures of poor, unhappy people. b) These pictures were done from 1904-1906, and pink was the most important colour;
