教学过程
一、Warmer
T:Good morning, boys and girls. How are you today?
Ss: Good morning, teacher. We’re fine, thank you.
T: Do you remember our topic yesterday? Can you tell me what it was?
Ss: Yes, we talked about our friends’ appearance and personality.
T: Very good. Today we’re going to continue talking about our friends. Are you ready?
Ss: Yes!
二、Lead-in
T: Let’s start with some new words. Look at the screen. What can you see?
Ss: (Answer: a picture of a boy)
T: Yes. What’s his name?
Ss: We don’t know.
T: OK. Let’s give him a name. How about Bob?
Ss: OK.
T: (Points to Bob’s image on the screen) So, what’s Bob like? Can you describe him?
Ss: (Give answers such as: He has black hair. He’s wearing a blue coat. He looks kind.)
三、Presentation
T: Very good. Now let’s try to ask and answer about Bob’s appearance and personality.
(Teacher writes the following phrases on the board)
•What’s he like?
•He’s…
•How does he look?
•He looks…
T: Now let’s practice. (Teacher will model the questions and answers)
T:What’s Bob like?
Ss: He’s tall and thin.
T: How does he look?
Ss: He looks handsome.
T: Very good. Now it’s your turn. Please work with your partner and practice asking and answering about Bob’s appearance and personality.
(Student practice in pairs)
四、Drill
T: Good job. Let’s move on to some drills. I’ll show you some pictures and you need to describe the people in the pictures using the sentences we learned today. Here’s the first one.
(Teacher shows the picture of a man)
T: What’s he like?
Ss: He’s short and fat.
T: How does he look?
Ss: He looks funny.
(Teacher shows several more pictures and students practice
describing them)
五、Roleplay
T: OK. Now we’re going to do a role-play. I’ll give you a scenario, and you need to act it out with your partner. Are you ready?
Ss: Yes!
T: Great. Let’s begin.
Scenario: You are at a party and you see a boy/cirl. You want to know more about him/her, so you ask him/her about his/her appearance and personality.
T: Please practice with your partner. One of you is the boy/girl and the other is the person who asks the questions. Make sure you use the sentences we learned today.
(Student practice in pairs)
六、Summary
T: Great work, boys and girls. Today we talked about describing people’s appearance and personality. You did a fantastic job.
七、Homework
Ss: (ask and answer 5 times with family members or friends in the same way as today)
