Student 1: Hi, what course do you think you will choose to study?
Student 2: I don’t know. It’s such a difficult choice to make.
Student 1: Well, one thing I’m sure of is that I don’t want to study Mathematics. I’m not very good
Student 2: It’s a tough decision. I thought about doing something related to arts, but actually it proved very difficult for me. Listening text 2:
Student 1: Hey! Have you decided upon your course yet?
Student 2: Not yet. What about you? I know you were a bit doubtful about taking a few courses because you said you want to study something you find interesting and exciting.
Writing a report about course choices
There are many trades and professions in the world. Which professions attract you? If you want to do this kind of job, what knowledge should you study?
What courses do you want to study at university? There are some key words or phrases that you might use for different options or possibilities.
Positive aspect Negative aspect
I certainly won’t be taking Geography—I always get the locations of cities wrong. I’ve been thinking that I might do something like Journalism because I’ve published a few articles in the school magazine. Do you remember when the local newspaper published my writing last year?
Student 1: Yes. It was a really good article. I think that would be great for you, and Journalism sounds like a very exciting course to study. (school bell ringing)
