《Unit 11 I can climb》第二课教案
Preparation
You will need:
flashcards for the action words introduced in this Unit
1.Words to learn
Student Book page 52
Have the children open their books at page 52. Direct their attention to the top of the page.
Display your copy of the page. Point to the first picture. Say, “Run.” Now mime run. Have the children repeat the word.
Point to the second picture. Say, “Swim.”Ask two children to mime the action. Have the class repeat the word.
Repeat the procedure for the other pictures and actions.
Play the tape once. Stop after each new vocabulary word. Point to each picture as the action is named.
Play the tape again. Have the children touch the correct picture as they hear the action named.
Read the words aloud and have the children repeat them after you. Encourage the children to touch each word as they say it.
Use the action flashcards for this Unit to review the vocabulary. Hold up each flashcard in turn and elicit the correct word.
2.IntroduceYou/He/She can
Review the structure I can (walk).
Hold up the flashcard for walk. Say to the class, “I can walk.” Walk around the
classroom.
Have the children repeat the sentence as they walk around the classroom one behind the other.
Now introduce the structure You can (walk). Choose a child to stand beside you. Gesture toward the child and say, “You can walk.”
Have the class repeat the sentence.
Choose a second child to stand beside the first child. Have the first child say, “I can walk.”
Now have the first child indicat e the second child and say, “You can walk.” Then the children change roles and repeat the sentences.
Repeat the procedure with different children working in pairs.
Have a boy stand some distance from you. Indicate the boy and say, “He can walk.” Have the children repeat the sentence.
Now ask a girl to stand in a different place. Say, “She can walk.” Have the children repeat the sentence.
Repeat the procedure using other action flashcards.
3.Listen to this
Student Book page 52
Display your copy of the page. Say to the class, “Now we will see what Mocky can do.”
Ask the question, “What can Mocky do?” Repeat the question.
Point to the first picture. Say, “He can carry his bag.”
Repeat for the other three pictures.
Now have the children open their books. As you play the tape, have them touch the matching picture. Make sure they all touch the correct picture.
4.Let’s chant
Student Book page 53
Use pictures review the following words: read, write, walk, run, talk, sing, jump, dance. Make sure the children can say these words when they see the actions. Read the rhyme to the children, pointing to each word.
Play the tape for the whole rhyme. Tell them the book only shows the first two parts of the rhyme. Have children listen and point to the words and the matching pictures on the page.
Play the tape again and have children join in, encouraging them to hum or clap with the rhyme.
Have children point to the pictures in their books as they listen to the tape again. They can also add some actions and act the rhyme out.
5.Set homework
Explain to the children that you want them to:
tell their families in English some things that they can do, using the sentence structure I can (run).
practice the chant.。
