Thoughts on the design:
本节课是以讲练相结合的语法课。
按照学生的认知规律，从温故知新——探索新知识——使用新知识——巩固新知识进行教学；针对语法教学的特点，设计一些练习，鼓励学生参与，形成师生互动，以便更好地掌握本节课所学的语法。
Teaching aims:
After learning this part, Ss will be able to get a better understanding of adverbial clauses
Teaching procedures:
Step 1 Revision
1. Review different kinds of “adverbial clause”. (PPT 4)
2. Find out the sentences with “adverbial clause” in the following sentences: (PPT5-6)
3. Tell the functions of each “adverbial clause” in the sentence. (PPT 7)

本课的教学先复习前一节课所学的知识, 进一步巩固有关状语从句的内容。
再通过补充的练习, 巩固了上节课的所学的语法内容。

Ask Ss to choose the best answer to fill in the blanks in each sentence.
