I．Teaching goals:能够掌握并运用不规则动词的一般过去时，能够运用一
般过去时表达过去的事件、生日庆祝活动等，能够运用谈论关心、建议与道歉的表达方式
II．Ability Goals:能够听懂有关生日庆祝活动，娱乐活动等句型和对话，并作
出正确反应；
能够正确地朗读对话和短文，注意语音语调；能够模仿课文，编写询问庆祝活动的对话。

III．Emotion Goals:培养学生学好英语的信心；鼓励学生积极大胆，敢于模
仿，克服不愿或羞于开口的心理。

IV．Key points 能够熟练掌握并运用不规则动词的一般过去时：sing—sang, do—did, fall—fell等,能够应用一般过去时表达过去的事件、庆祝活动等；能够应用谈论关心、建议与道歉的表达方式。

VI.Teaching procedures
Step1.1. Review Show some verbs on the screen and choose some students to change them into past forms.
2.Play the tape. Help students check the answers. (The teacher asks
the questions and students give the answers), Do 3.
Step 2.Presentation Do 1a. Try to predict the main idea of the passage.
Play the game together. Read after the tape
carefully. Look at the key points carefully.
Step3 Consolidation
1.Give students some time to do 1b by themselves and check the answers together.
2..Let students point out the key words and phrases in 1a. Then show them on the screen. Do 1b&1c.
Step4 Practice
Let students do 2a by themselves first without listening. Play the tape and let students check their answers, paying attention to the past forms ; Play the tape again and let students follow the tape. Give students some time to read 2a in pairs. Do 2a&2b.
Step 5 Project
Review the key words and useful expressions in Section B;
Make up a passage about your birthday party;
Preview the words and 1a in Section C.
Step6 Homework
Review the words and recite Section B
Retell the dialogue 1a in the section
Finish Section B in your workbook
