Emma’s grandma is talking with Emma over the phone. Listen to what Emma and her grandma say. The
conversation will be played two times. When you hear a
beep (beep), blacken the circle next to the best answer.
You have 10 seconds to read the questions. (10-second
pause)
The conversation will begin now. [Grandma: Hi, Emma! This is Grandma. How are you? Emma:
Hi, Grandma! I am fine! Grandma: I want to speak with your mother. Is she there?
Emma: Well, Mum is in the kitchen. She is washing the dishes.
(beep) (5-second pause)
Grandma: Oh! How about your father? Where is he?
Emma: He is in his room. He is still sleeping. (beep) (5-second
pause) (a dog barking)
Grandma: Is that Bobo?
Emma: Yes! Bobo is in the sitting room with me. He is eating his food.
(beep) (5-second pause)
Grandma: Well, I just want to tell your mother that I am coming to your
flat this afternoon. I am bringing a cake, too.
Emma:
(excited) Hurray! (beep) (5-second pause) Grandma: But I want to know which floor you live on. Emma: We live on the third floor, Grandma. (beep) (5-second
pause)
Grandma: OK. See you later.
Emma: Goodbye!]
