摘要:PURPOSE:To make the replacing work for the rolling rolls possible with no need of an overhead traveling crane, by concentrically arranging various mechanisms in the upper half of a mill housing of a vertical two-roll type rolling mill, and by permitting the rolling rolls to go in and out of one side of the housing. CONSTITUTION:The said rolling mill is provided with a cradle elevating mechanism and a transversely movable housing truck. When the rolling rolls 11, 12 are to be replaced, a spindle 23 is rotated, a cradle 16 is brought down onto a trunck 65, the truck 65 is moved out of the housing, and the cradle 16 is unloaded from the truck 65. The truck 65 is then returned in the direction (b), and the disk shoes 43, 44 are parallelly moved as far as a distance l respectively to the left and the right by hydraulic cylinders 51, 52 and screw mechanismsm 53, 54. A screw rod 25 is then rotated and is frle 15 supported by hydraulic cylinders 30, 31 is gradually brought down onto the truck 65; hereby the cradle 15 is disengaged from a support 17 and becomes capable of getting out of the housing similarly to above. The setting work for a new rolling roll is carried out reversely to the said manipulations.
