教学设计
◆教材分析
本课的教学内容是第三单元的第三课时,主要内容是购买礼物的对话。
设计本课时,在学生学习基础知识,训练运用技能的基础上,着重考虑对兴趣和能力的培养。
在生活中寻找体裁,以学生感兴趣的图片入手,通过各项活动,让学生在完成各项任务中,掌握新的知识。
通过自主探索,发现问题,解决难点,提高学生的语言运用能力。

记忆单词size, fit, anyway短语, the same size as…, try on。
掌握有关购物的重要交际用语, 掌握句型: What can I do for you? What size does your friend wear? Try on this jacket, please. I don’t like the colour, but I like the style. We’ll buy a red one.【过程与方法目标】

Step Ⅰ. Lead in
Leading in 【情景1】
1. Show some students’ photos to the class. There are some families having a birthday party. Having
a birthday party is very popular in China now.
2. Talk about the subject about birthday. The students may have much to say. Ask the following questions.
(1)How did you spend your last birthday?
(2)What did your family members buy for you?
(3)What do you hope your birthday party will be like?
(4)Can you make a plan for your birthday party? What is it?
[设计意图] 采取直观式导入新课,为学生创造轻松愉快的学习气氛,激发学生的好奇心,为学习新课做好铺垫。
Leading in 【情景2】
T: Good morning/ afternoon, everyone. You are all very lively. I wonder who in our class are going to celebrate their birthdays this month or next month. Raise your hand if your birthday is in this month or next month.
Allow the students to respond accordingly. Choose one student at a time to speak.
T: When is your birthday?
S1: My birthday is coming soon. It’s on (month/day).
T: Wonderful! When it’s a friend’s birthday, what do you usually do for him or her?
S2: When it’s a friend’s birthday, I usually buy him or her a present/make him or her a cake/sing “Happy Birthday”.
T: Very good. In this lesson, Jenny and Brian go to the store to buy a present for Li Ming’s birthday. Let us find out what they buy.
[设计意图]锻炼学生口头表达能力,提高学生的听说能力, 也激发他们的参与意识。
Step Ⅰ. Listening
Listen to the tape and know about the main point of the dialogue. Choose the best answers:

1. Let the students read the text loudly in class and answer the following questions:
(1)Where does Li Ming live?
(2)What size does Li Ming wear?
(3)Does the yellow jacket fit Li Ming?
(4)Would Li Ming like the bright green jacket? Why?
(5)What’s Li Ming’s favourite color?

2. Read it again and finish Exercise 1 in “Let’s Do It!”.
3. After the students read the dialogue fluently, the teacher can arrange them to read it in roles.
4. Read it again and find out the key phrases and sentences.

1. Read the text.
2. Instruct the students to work in pairs to make up a dialogue and finish Exercise 4.
3. Preview the next lesson.
