建立贸易关系Establishing Trade Relations

（1）We are sending you under separate cover by mail a copy of the latest catalog. Please let us know if there are any items which are of interest to you and we will send you quotes and samples.

兹另发送我方最新产品目录一份。如贵公司对其中一些产品感兴趣，请告知。我方会寄去报价和样品。

under separate cover 另封、另邮，也可用by separate mail=by separate post

item此处做“货物、商品”解，

例：some of the items部分产品，an export item 出口产品

quotes报价=quotation，quote比较口语化。

可与quotation搭配使用的动词有：make, send, give等，后面常跟介词for

例：Please send us your lowest quotation for 100,000 sets of plain telephones.

请将100,000个普通电话机的最优惠报价发送给我们。

（2）Please inform us of your trade items and forward samples and product brochures.

请告知贵方贸易条件，并提供相关样品和产品册子。

注：trade terms 贸易条款、条件，常用复数，主要包括付款方式（mode of payment）、装运日期（date of shipment）等。

Forward 此处为动词，=to send，dispatch 发送，寄（商品、信息）

Brochure 小册子，用于介绍一种或一类商品=pamphlet, catalog(ue)

(3) Our corporation is established for the purpose of importing and exporting as well as other activities in connection with foreign trade.

本公司是以经营进出口业务及对外贸易为宗旨而建立的。

for the purpose of… 以……为目的，为宗旨，

例：A party was held for the purpose of increasing the understanding between the two sides. 这次聚会的目的是增进双方的了解。

purpose的另一个短语，on purpose也很重要，表示“故意，有意地”，He did it on purpose, knowing it would me angry.

他明知会惹怒我，却故意那样做。

in connection with: 与……有关，

I am writing to you in connection with our latest business.

我写信给你与我们最近的这桩贸易有关。

（4）Our company has been in business since 1995, and therefore has wide experience in all the

lines we handle.

我们公司从1995年开始经营。因此，在我们所从事的各行业都有丰富的经验。

In business此处指“在经营，在经商，在营业”，

例：She has set up in business as a hairdresser.

她已经开店当理发师。

口语中，business常用的一个句型为“Business is business.”公事公办。

Wide experience丰富的经验=rich experience=extensive experience=much experience

Line此处相当于”one’s trade of occupation, or the things he deals in”,职业，行业

例：My line of work pays pretty well.

我的职业报酬颇丰富。

We have completed many successful translations with XXX Co., Ltd in this line of business.

在这一行业，我们已经与XXX有限公司有过许多次成功的交易。

Handle指to buy or to sell sth, 买或卖=deal in

例：Our cooperation handles arts and crafts.

我们公司从事工艺品买卖。

（5）As requested, we are airmailing to you, under separate cover, a sample of Art. 1101 for your reference.

按照要求，兹另封航邮货号1101样品一份，以供参考。

as requested=as desired, 按照要求，依照要求

例：We have duly signed our S/C and return one copy to you for your file as requested.

我们已经及时签署了售货确认书并按要求退回一份供你们备案。

For your reference: 供您参考，以供参考，例：

A confirmation order is enclosed for your reference.

随函附上订单确认书，供参考。

We are attaching relevant specifications for your reference.

兹附相关说明书，以供参考。

(6)We can assure you that all your orders will receive our immediate attention.

我方保证你方订单定会得到立即处理。

Assure 确认，担保，使信服，

例：We communicate with foreign customer and China factory to assure order production in good quality and shipped in time.

我们协助公司与国外客户的联系，与国内工厂沟通，以确保工厂及时、保质保量地完成产品订单。

Receive attention 基本含义为：“受到关注”，这里译为“（订单）得到处理”，receive immediate attention=receive best attention,

例：All orders by post will receive our best attention and, whenever possible, will be executed on the day of receipt.
