Snow White 白雪公主 (双语)

Snow White 白雪公主<双语> LITTLE SNOW WHITE --英文版Long, long ago, in the winter-time, when the snowflakes were falling like little white feathers from the sky, a beautiful Queen sat beside her window, which was framed in black ebony, and stitched. As she worked, she looked sometimes at the falling snow, and so it happened that she pricked her finger with her needle, so that three drops of blood fell upon the snow. How pretty the red blood looked upon the dazzling white! The Queen said to herself as she saw it, "Ah me! If only I had a dear little child as white as the snow, as rosy as the blood, and with hair as black as the ebony window-frame."Soon afterwards a little daughter came to her, who was white as snow, rosy as the blood, and whose hair was as black as ebony--so she was called "Little Snow-White."But alas! When the little one came, the good Queen dies.A year passed away, and the King took another wife. She was very beautiful, but so proud and haughty that she could not bear to be surpassed in beauty by anyone. She possessed a wonderful mirror which could answer her when she stood before it and said-"Mirror, mirror upon the wall, Who is the fairest of all?"The mirror answered-"Thou, O Queen, art the fairest of all,"and the Queen was contented, because she knew the mirror could speak nothing but the truth. But as time passed on, Little Snow-White grew more and more beautiful, until when she was seven years old, she was as lovely as the bright day, and still more lovely than the Queen herself, so that when the lady one day asked her mirror-"Mirror, mirror upon the wall, Who is the fairest fair of all?"it answered-"O Lady Queen, though fair ye be, Snow-White is fairer far to see."The Queen was horrified, and from that moment envy and pride grew in her heart like rank weeds, until oneday she called a huntsman and said "Take the child away into the woods and kill her, for I can no longer bear the sight of her. And when you return bring with you her heart, that I may know you have obeyed my will."The huntsman dared not disobey, so he ledSnow-White out into the woods and placed an arrow in his bow to pierce her innocent heart, but the little maid begged him to spare her life, and the child's beauty touched his heart with pity, so that he bade her run away. Then as a young wild boar came rushing by, he killed it, took out its heart, and carried it home to the Queen.Poor little Snow-White was now all alone in the wild wood, and so frightened was she that she trembled at every leaf that rustled. So she began to run, and ran on and on until she came to a little house, where she went in to rest.In the little house everything she saw was tiny, but more dainty and clean than words can tell.Upon a white-covered table stood seven little plates and upon each platelay a little spoon, besides which there were sevenknives and forks and seven little goblets. Against the wall, and side by side, stood seven little beds covered with snow-white sheets.Snow-White was so hungry and thirsty that she took a little food from each of the seven plates, and drank a few drops of wine from each goblet, for she did not wish to take everything away from one. Then, because she was so tired, she crept into one bed after the other, seeking for rest, but one was too long, another too short, and so on, until she came to the seventh, which suited her exactly; so she said her prayers and soon fell fast asleep. When night fell the masters of the little house came home. They were seven dwarfs, who worked with a pick-axe and spade, searching for cooper and gold in the heart of the mountains. They lit their seven candles and then saw that someone had been to visit them. The first said, "Who has been sitting on my chair?"The second said, "Who has been eating from my plate?"The third, "Who has taken a piece of my bread?"The fourth, "Who has taken some of my vegetables?"The fifth, "Who has been using my fork?"The sixth, "Who has been cutting with my knife?"The seventh, "Who has been drinking out of my goblet?"The first looked round and saw that his bed was rumpled, so he said, "Who has been getting into my bed?"Then the others looked round and each one cried, "Someone has been on my bed too?"But the seventh saw little Snow-White lying asleep in his bed, and called the others to come and look at her; and they cried aloud with surprise, and fetched their seven little candles, so that they might see her the better, and they were so pleased with her beauty that they let her sleep on all night. When the sun rose Snow-White awoke, and, oh! How frightened she was when she saw the seven little dwarfs. But they were very friendly, and asked what her name was. "My name is Snow-White," she answered."And how did you come to get into our house?" questioned the dwarfs. Then she told them how her cruel step-mother hadintended her to be killed, but how the huntsman had spared her life and she had run on until she reached the little house. And the dwarfs said, "If you will take care of our house, cook for us, and make the beds, wash, mend, and knit, and keep everything neat and clean, then you may stay with us altogether and you shall want for nothing.""With all my heart," answered Snow-White; and so she stayed. She kept the house neat and clean for the dwarfs, who went off early in the morning to search for copper and gold in the mountains, and who expected their meal to be standing ready for them when they returned at night. All day long Snow-White was alone, and the good little dwarfs warned her to be careful to let no one into the house. "For," said they, "your step-mother will soon discover that you are living here."The Queen, believing, of course, that Snow-White was dead, and that therefore she was again the most beautiful lady in the land, went to her mirror, and said-"Mirror, mirror upon the wall, Who is the fairest fair of all?"Then the mirror answered-"O Lady Queen, though fair ye be, Snow-White is fairer far to see. Over the hills and far away, She dwells with seven dwarfs to-day."How angry she was, for she knew that the mirror spoke the truth, and that the huntsman must have deceived her. She thought and thought how she might kill Snow-White, for she knew she would have neither rest nor peace until she really was the most beautiful lady in the land. At length she decided what to do. She painted her face and dressed herself like an old pedlar-woman, so that no one could recognize her, and in this disguise she climbed the seven mountains that lay between her and the dwarfs' house, and knocked at their door and cried, "Good wares to sell-very cheap to-day!"Snow-White peeped from the window and said, "Good day, good-wife, and what are your wares?""All sorts of pretty things, my dear," answered the woman. "Silken laces of every colour," and she held upa bright-coloured one, made of plaited silks."Surely I might let this honest old woman come in?" thought Snow-White, and unbolted the door and bought the pretty lace."Dear, dear, what a figure you are, child," said the old woman; "come, let me lace you properly for once."Snow-White had no suspicious thoughts, so she placed herself in front of the old woman that she might fasten her dress with the new silk lace. But in less than no time the wicked creature had laced her so tightly that she could not breathe, but fell down upon the ground as though she were dead. "Now," said the Queen, "I am once more the most beautiful lady in the land," and she went away. When the dwarfs came home they were very grieved to find their dear little Snow-White lying upon the ground as though she were dead. They lifted her gently and, seeing that she was too tightly laced, they cut the silken cord, when she drew a long breath and then gradually came back to life. When the dwarfs heard all that had happened theysaid, "The pedlar-woman was certainly the wicked Queen. Now, take care in future that you open the door to none when we are not with you."The wicked Queen had no sooner reached home than she went to her mirror, and said-"Mirror, mirror upon the wall, Who is the fairest fair of all?"And the mirror answered as before-"O Lady Queen, though fair ye be, Snow-White is fairer far to see. Over the hills and far away, She dwells with seven dwarfs to-day."The blood rushed to her face as she heard these words, for she knew that Snow-White must have come to life again."But I will manage to put an end to her yet," she said, and then, by means of her magic, she made a poisonous comb.Again she disguised herself, climbed the seven mountains, and knocked at the door of the seven dwarfs' cottage, crying, "Good wares to sell-very cheap today!"Snow-White looked out of the window and said, "Go away, good woman, for I dare not let you in."Surely you can look at my goods," answered the woman, and held up the poisonous comb, which pleasedSnow-White so well that she opened the door and bought it."Come, let me comb your hair in the newest way," said the woman, and the poor unsuspicious child let her have her way, but no sooner did the comb touch her hair than the poison began to work, and she fell fainting to the ground."There, you model of beauty," said the wicked woman, as she went away, "you are done for at last!"But fortunately it was almost time for the dwarfs to come home, and as soon as they came in and found Snow-White lying upon the ground they guessed that her wicked step-mother had been there again, and set to work to find out what was wrong. They soon saw the poisonous comb, and drew it out, and almost immediately Snow-White began to recover, and told them what had happened.Once more they warned her to be on her guard, and to open the door to no one. When the Queen reached home, she went straight tothe mirror and said--"Mirror, mirror on the wall, Who is the fairest fair of all?"And the mirror answered-"O Lady Queen, though fair ye be, Snow-White is fairer far to see. Over the hills and far away, She dwells with seven dwarfs to-day."When the Queen heard these words she shook with rage. "Snow-White shall die," she cried, "even if it costs me my own life to manage it."She went into a secret chamber, where no one else ever entered, and there she made a poisonous apple, and then she painted her face and disguised herself as a peasant woman, and climbed the seven mountains and went to the dwarfs' house. She knocked at the door. Snow-White put her head out of the window, and said, "I must not let anyone in; the seven dwarfs have forbidden me to do so.""It's all the same to me," answered the peasant woman; "I shall soon get rid of these fine apples. But before I go I'll make you a present of one.""Oh! No," said Snow-White, "for I must not take it.""Surely you are not afraid of poison?" said the woman. "See, I will cut one in two: the rosy cheek you shall take, and the white cheek I will eat myself."Now, the apple had been so cleverly made that only the rose-cheeked side contained the poison. Snow-White longed for the delicious-looking fruit, and when she saw that the woman ate half of it, she thought there could be no danger, and stretched out her hand and took the other part. But no sooner had she tasted it than she fell down dead. The wicked Queen laughed aloud with joy as she gazed at her. "White as snow, red as blood, black as ebony," she said, "this time the dwarfs cannot awaken you."And she went straight home and asked her mirror-- "Mirror, mirror upon the wall, Who is the fairest fair of all?"And at length it answered--"Thou, O Queen, art fairest of all!"So her envious heart had peace-at least, so much peace as an envious heart can have. When the little dwarfs came home at night they found Snow-White lying upon the ground. No breath came fromher parted lips, for she was dead. They lifted her tenderly and sought for some poisonous object which might have caused the mischief, unlaced her frock, combed her hair, and washed her with wine and water, but all in vain-dead she was and dead she remained. They laid her upon a bier, and all seven of them sat round about it, and wept as though their hearts would break, for three whole days. When the time came that she should be laid in the ground they could not bear to part from her. Her pretty cheeks were still rosy red, and she looked just as though she were still living."We cannot hide her away in the dark earth," said the dwarfs, and so they made a transparent coffin of shining glass, and laid her in it, and wrote her name upon it in letters of gold; also they wrote that she was a King's daughter. Then they placed the coffin upon the mountain-top, and took it in turns to watch beside it. And all the animals came and wept for Snow-White, first an owl, then a raven, and then a little dove. For a long, long time little Snow-White lay in the coffin, but her form did not wither; she only lookedas though she slept, for she was still as white as snow, as red as blood, and as black as ebony. It chanced that a King's son came into the wood, and went to the dwarfs' house, meaning to spend the night there. He saw the coffin upon the mountain-top, with little Snow-White lying within it, and he read the words that were written upon it in letters of gold. And he said to the dwarfs, "If you will but let me have the coffin, you may ask of me what you will, and I will give it to you."But the dwarfs answered, "We would not sell it for all the gold in the world."Then said the Prince, "Let me have it as a gift, I pray you, for I cannot live without seeing little Snow-White, and I will prize your gift as the dearest of my possessions."The good little dwarfs pitied him when they heard these words, and so gave him the coffin. The King's son then bade his servants place it upon their shoulders and carry it away, but as they went they stumbled over the stump of a tree, and the violent shaking shook the piece of poisonous apple which had lodged inSnow-White's throat out again, so that she opened her eyes, raised the lid of the coffin, and sat up, alive once more."Where am I?" she cried, and the happy Prince answered, "Thou art with me, dearest."Then he told her all that had happened, and how he loved her better than the whole world, and begged her to go with him to his father's palace and be his wife. Snow-White consented, and went with him, and the wedding was celebrated with great splendour and magnificence.Little Snow-White's wicked step-mother was bidden to the feast, and when she had arrayed herself in her most beautiful garments, she stood before her mirror, and said--"Mirror, mirror upon the wall, Who is the fairest fair of all?"And the mirror answered--"O Lady Queen, though fair ye be, The young Queen is fairer to see."Oh! How angry the wicked woman was then, and so terrified, too, that she scarcely knew what to do. Atfirst she thought she would not go to the wedding at all, but then she felt that she could not rest until she had seen the young Queen. No sooner did she enter the palace than she recognized little Snow-White, and could not move for terror. Then a pair of red-hot iron shoes was brought into the room with tongs and set before her, and these she was forced to put on and to dance in them until she could dance no longer, but fell down dead, and that was the end of her.博客白雪公主—中文版很久很久以前,在一座大森林里,有一桩漂亮的小木屋,黄屋顶,红木墙,绿门窗,真是谁看见谁都喜欢,住在这桩小木屋里的是七个勤劳的小矮人,一天七个小矮人干活回来了,他们排成了一支队伍,边走边唱。

As she sewed she pricked her finger, and a drop of blood fell on to the snow gathered on the windowsill. The Queen looked at the red drops on the white snow, and at the ebony black frame of her window and liking the way the colours looked together, thought to herself, 'I wish I had a child as white as snow, as red as blood, as black as ebony.' Soon a little daughter was born to her, with skin as white as snow, lips as red as blood, and hair as black as ebony. She called her daughter Snow White. A few days after Snow White's birth the Queen died.A year later the King, Snow White's father, married again. The new Queen was very beautiful, but so vain and haughty that she could not bear anyone to be more beautiful than her. Now, the Queen had a magic mirror, that could talk, and would answer truthfully any question that it was asked. The vain Queen would look into the mirror and ask,"Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?"And the mirror would reply, "You are the fairest, lady Queen."Then she would be happy, for she knew the mirror always spoke the truth.Meanwhile Snow White was growing up, and the older she grew the prettier she became, so that by the time she was seven years old, she was far more beautiful than the Queen. One day the Queen, as always, asked her magic mirror,"Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?"This time the mirror gave a different answer. It said, "You were the fairest, lady Queen. Snow White is fairest now, I ween. The Queen began hating Snow White. As Snow White grew prettier with every passing day, the Queen's jealousy and anger grew. At last unable to bear Snow White's beauty any longer, she called her Huntsman and said to him, 'Take the child into the forest, and kill her, and bring back her heart and her tongue as proof that she is dead.' The Huntsman did as the Queen asked - he took the little girl into the forest and prepared to kill her. 'Please don't kill me,' cried Snow White, looking in terror at his big sharp knife. 'I will run away into the forest and never come back again.' The Huntsman relented, and let her go. The child ran off through the trees deep into the forest. 'The wild beasts will kill you, you poor child,' thought the Huntsman to himself. But somehow he was glad he had not killed the little princess. Just then a wild boar came blundering through the bushes. The Huntsman killed the animal, and cutting out his heart and tongue took it to the Queen, as proof that Snow White was dead. The Queen rejoiced and was happy that she was once again the fairest of them all.Meanwhile Snow White ran through the forest, deeper and deeper, till she could run no more. It was getting dark, and Snow White was frightened, when she saw a little cottage in a clearing. She knocked, but no one answered. Tired and afraid of staying out in the forest, she pushed open the door and went in.Inside, the cottage was neat and tidy and shining clean, except that everything in it was very tiny, as though made for children. The pots and pans on the kitchen shelves had been scrubbed and polished till she shone. A table with seven little chairs around it was laid for dinner, with seven little bowls and seven little plates, and knives and spoons and forks. Against the wall were seven little beds in a row, each covered with snow-white sheets. Snow White, hungry and thirsty, ate a spoonful of porridge from each bowl, nibbled a morsel of bread from each plate, drank a sip of wine from each glass, because she did not want to eat up all the food from one place. Then she lay down on one of the beds for a nap - but it was too hard. She tried another - that was too soft, the third too short, the fourth too long, but the seventh was just right. Snow White curled up in the seventh bed and fell fast asleep. Now the cottage belonged to the Seven Dwarfs, who would dig for ore all day in the mountains, and come back to their cottage at night. As it became dark, the dwarfs returned. They lit seven little lamps and looked around. They saw at once that everything was not as they had left it. 'Someone has been here,' they cried. 'Someone has nibbled at my bread,' cried one. 'Someone has tasted my porridge,' cried another. 'Someone has sipped my wine,' cried a third. 'Someone has used my fork,' grumbled a fourth. 'Someone has used my spoon,' cried a fifth. 'Someone has slept in my bed,' cried a sixth. And 'Someone IS sleeping in my bed,' cried the seventh. The seven dwarfs crowded round the bed and stared at Snow White. She looked so beautiful that the dwarfs decided not to wake her. They moved away on tiptoe and let her sleep. When morning came, Snow White awoke, and seeing the Seven Dwarfs, jumped out of bed in a fright. But the dwarfs smiled at her and were very kind. So she told them her sad story - how she was the princess Snow White, how her stepmother had tried to kill her, and how the Huntsman had let her go, to run into the forest and to never go back home again. The dwarfs felt sorry for the pretty little princess. 'Will you look after our house, wash, clean, sew and cook for us? If you do we shall keep you safe here with us and look after you.'Snow White agreed, and so she began living with the Seven Dwarfs in their cottage in the forest. Every morning the dwarfs would leave for their work in the mountains, bidding Snow White good-bye and telling her to be careful. She would wash and clean and tidy the cottage all day, and have their dinner ready hot and steaming for them when they returned in the evening. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs were happy and content. One day Snow White's stepmother the Queen pulled out her magic mirror and asked again, "Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?"The mirror replied:You were the fairest, lady QueenSnow White is fairest now, I ween.In a cottage with the Seven DwarfsShe lives amid the forest green. When the Queen heard this she realised that the Huntsman had deceived her, for she knew that the mirror always spoke the truth. She decided she would have to kill Snow White herself - for this vain and jealous Queen could not bear the thought of someone being more beautiful than her.So the Queen painted her face, and disguised herself as a poor old pedlar selling ribbons and stays. She walked to the forest, and to the cottage of the Seven Dwarfs where Snow White was busy with her daily chores. The Queen knocked at the door of the cottage and called, 'Stays for sale, ribbons for sale!' Snow White peeped out of the window and not recognizing her stepmother, thought, 'I might let this harmless old woman in.' The stepmother, seeing Snow White, held up a pair of colourful stays and called, 'Come dear, let me lace these up for you.' Snow White opened the door and let her in. The stepmother, pretending to do the stays, laced them so tightly that Snow White fell to the floor as though dead. Chuckling gleefully, the Queen hurried back to the palace, sure that she was now the fairest of them all. That evening when the dwarfs came home, they found Snow White lying as though dead on the floor. They raised her up, and saw that her stays were too tight. They quickly cut the stays and soon Snow White opened her eyes and sat up. She told the dwarfs all that had happened. 'That old woman was none other than your stepmother the Queen,' they cried. 'Don't let her in again.'Meanwhile the Queen reached the palace, and running up to her room pulled out her magic mirror and asked, "Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?"The mirror replied as before:You were the fairest, lady QueenSnow White is fairest now, I ween.In a cottage with the Seven DwarfsShe lives amid the forest green. The Queen was furious, and determined to go back to the cottage again to kill Snow White. This time she disguised herself as an old pedlar woman selling combs. She used some magic spells she knew, and poisoned one of the combs. Then she found her way as before to the cottage of the Seven Dwarfs and knocked at the door. Snow White peeped out and said, 'I can't let you in.' But the pedlar woman persisted and called to her to at least see the pretty combs she had. She held up the poisoned one, which was the prettiest. 'Come let me comb your hair for you,' she called. Snow White, thinking there could be no harm in a comb, agreed and let her in. As soon as the comb touched her hair, she fell upon the floor as though dead. Once again, chuckling with glee, the Queen left her lying there and ran back to her palace, sure that this time she had indeed killed Snow White. As before, when the dwarfs came back, they saw Snow White lying as though dead upon the floor. They saw the comb stuck in her hair and pulled it out. At once Snow White opened her eyes and sat up. 'That old woman was your stepmother,' cried the dwarfs. 'Next time don't let her in.'Meanwhile the Queen reached the palace, and running up to her room pulled out her magic mirror as before and asked, "Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?The mirror replied as before:You were the fairest, lady QueenSnow White is fairest now, I ween.In a cottage with the Seven DwarfsShe lives amid the forest green. The Queen stamped her foot in anger. Then she thought and she thought and at last came up with a plan she thought was bound to succeed. She took a rosy apple and poisoned it, all except the core. Then, the next morning, disguising herself once more as an old pedlar selling apples, she found her way to the cottage of the Seven Dwarfs and knocked upon the door. 'No, I cannot let you in,' said Snow White. 'I have some lovely apples,' cried the pedlar. 'See, I'll give you one. You eat the rosy cheeks, and I'll eat the core.' And the stepmother took out the poisoned apple, polished it and cutting it up, ate the core, which was not poisoned. Snow White, seeing that she came to no harm, and tempted by the apple, took a bite of the proffered piece - and at once fell to the floor as though dead. This time the Queen was sure her plan had worked. That evening when the dwarfs came home, they found Snow White lying on the floor as though dead. This time they could not revive her, no matter what they did.And that evening, when the Queen pulled out her mirror and asked, "Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?", the mirror answered, " You are the fairest, lady Queen."The dwarfs, meanwhile, wept and wept over Snow White. She looked so pretty even in death that they did not have the heart to bury her. So they built a casket of glass, and placed her in it, and set the casket upon a ledge of rock in the forest. One of the dwarfs always remained by the casket, watching. One day a prince came riding by, and seeing the beautiful maiden lying as though asleep in the casket, he fell in love with her.The dwarfs, seeing that the prince was really in love, agreed. The Prince ordered the casket to be carried away by his attendants. Now the men carrying the casket stumbled, and jolted the casket. The piece of poisoned apple in Snow White's mouth fell out, and Snow White sighed, opened her eyes and sat up. The prince and the dwarfs were overjoyed, and soon it was agreed that the prince would marry Snow White.A great wedding was arranged in which everyone from far and wide was invited. Snow White's stepmother was also invited. Just before she left for the wedding, dressed in her finest clothes, she stepped before the mirror and asked:Mirror, mirror on the wall,Who is the fairest of them all?The mirror answered:You were the fairest, lady QueenThe Prince's bride is more fair, I ween.At this the Queen was furious, and left at once for the wedding to see for herself the bride who was so fair. Imagine her shock when she saw that the bride was Snow White!Just then a pair of red hot iron shoes was brought and set down before her, and these she was forced to put on and to dance until she fell down dead.。

Then the Queen was shocked, and turned yellow and green with envy. From that hour, whenever she looked at Snow-white, her heart heaved in her breast, she hated the girl so much.
But now the poor child was all alone in the great forest, and so terrified that she looked at every leaf of every tree, and did not know what to do. Then she began to run, and ran over sharp stones and through thorns, and the wild beasts ran past her, but did her no harm.

A few days later, the queen asked her magic mirror.Mirror, mirror, on the wall, who’s the fairest of them all?Snow White is the fairest, my queen. She is alive. She lives in the forest with the seven dwarves. No! The huntsman lied to me. Now I must think of a new plan to kill Snow White. The queen was also a powerful(强大的) magician. She made a magic potion(药剂)and drank it. Suddenly, she did not look like a beautiful queen any more. She looked like a peasant(乡下人)girl. Then she cast(投) a magic spell(符咒)on a hair comb(发梳).This magic comb will kill Snow White. When she is gone, I will be the most beautiful in the land.Chapter 3The next morning, the dwarves left for(动身去) work.Take good care of(好好照看)our house, Snow White. We will be home at sundown(日落).I will cook a roast(烤) with potatoes for dinner. And your clothes will be all clean. Good bye.As soon as the dwarves were gone, the queen walked to the door and knocked. Snow White answered the door(应门). She did not recognize(认出) the queen. She only saw a young girl.(girl’s voice) Good morning, ma’am. I am selling fine combs for pretty ladies. Do you want to buy one?I’m sorry, but I don’t need a comb.Oh please, ma’am. Please try my combs. They are very strong. Your hair is so thick and beautiful. You should have a good comb.Alright, I’ll try one.Snow White took the queen’s comb and began to comb her hair. When the comb touched her head, her hair began to move. Her hair wrapped around(卷绕) her neck and began to tighten(变紧). Snow White couldn’t breathe. She couldn’t even call for help.Die, Snow White! Now I will be the fairest. The queen laughed and laughed. Then she went back to the castle.Luckily, one of the dwarves forgot his lunch. He ran back to the house to get it. When he got there, he saw Snow White with the comb in her hair. Her hair was wrapping tighter and tighter around her neck. The dwarf grabbed(抢) the comb and threw(抛) it to the ground. The comb broke into pieces(破成碎片).The spell(符咒) was broken, and Snow White could breathe again.Snow White! Snow White! What happened?A girl was selling combs. I tried one, and my hair wrapped around my neck. The girl ran away, but I heard her laugh. It was the queen’s laugh. The girl was the queen in disguise(伪装).The queen found you here. You are in great danger, Snow White. From now on(从现在开始), you must never take anything from a stranger. And never let any strangers into the house. We will keep you safe, but we must be very careful. The queen returned to the castle, she went to her magic mirror.Mirror, mirror, on the wall, who’s the fairest of them all?Snow White is the fairest, my queen. She is still alive in the forest. One of the dwarves saved her life. No, no, no! I can’t use another comb. Snow White will know that it is a trick(诡计). I must make her trust me. But how? Ah-ha! I know what to do.The queen made another magic potion and drank it. Now she looked like a very old woman. Then she took an apple. Half of the apple was green, and half of the apple was red. She did the red half of the apple into a powerful poison(毒药).Snow White will eat this poisoned(有毒的) apple and she will die. Then I will be the fairest in the land. The next morning, the dwarves left for work.Remember, Snow White, don’t let any strangers into the house. It might be the queen in disguise(伪装). And don’t take anything from strangers. It might be another trick.I will remember. I’ll be very careful. That afternoon, there was a knock at the door.Snow White went to the window to see who it was. She saw an old woman with a basket of apples. She did not know it was the queen again.(old woman’s voice) Hello, young lady. I am selling apples. Do you want to buy some nice fresh apples?I’m sorry. But I’m not allowed(不允许) to take anything from strangers. You are a good girl. I’ll give you half an apple for free. I’ll eat the other half. Then you will know it is safe. The old woman cut the apple in half. She ate the good half and gave the poisoned(有毒的) half to Snow White. Snow White thought it was safe, so she ate herhalf. After one bite(咬), she fell down to the floor. The queen laughed and laughed. Now I am the fairest. Good bye, Snow White. Good bye forever(永远).That night, the seven dwarves came home. They found Snow White and the poisoned apple on the floor.Oh no! Snow White, wake up! Wake up!Is she dead?I don’t know. She is not breathing. But her skin is still warm, and her cheeks are still red.The queen did this. The apple was poisoned. What will we do?Let’s make a glass coffin(棺材)for her. We will put it on the hill. There we can watch her.We can take turns(轮流) watching her each day. If she wakes up, we will see it.The dwarves built a glass coffin for Snow White, and put it on a hill near their house.Form that day on, only six of the dwarves went to dig for gold and jewels in the hills. One dwarf stood guard by Snow White’s coffin every day. A long time passed, and Snow White never moved.Chapter 4One day, a prince was hunting in the forest. He saw the dwarf guarding Snow White’s coffin on the hill. He rode up to him.Who is this young woman? This is the princess Snow White. She was a kind and lovely girl. Her stepmother was very jealous of her beauty. She gave Snow White a poisoned apple. She fell asleep and did not wake up. Now we watch her every day. We hope she will wake up one day.Her story is so sad. She is so young and beautiful. I have fallen in love with(爱上) her. May I give her a kiss before I go home?Umm, OK. I allow(允许) you to kiss her.The dwarf took off the top of the coffin. The prince leaned over(弯下身子) and kissed Snow White. The queen’s poisoned magic was strong. But the magic of love was stronger. When the prince kissed Snow White, her eyes opened, and she woke up.Snow White! You’re awake!Where am I? Who are you?I am prince charming(白马王子). Your stepmother gave you a poisoned apple. You were asleep for many years. I kissed you, and you woke up.My castle is on the other side of this forest. Please come with me. I love you, and I want you to be my queen. Will you marry me?You saved my life. I love you too. I will be happy to marry you.Snow White and the prince rode away to the prince’s castle. The prince sent a messenger to Snow White‘s father, the kings.Your majesty(陛下), I have great news. Your daughter, Snow White, is alive. My daughter is alive? Where? She is in the castle on the other side of the forest. The prince wants to marry her. That is wonderful news!I also have bad news. Your wife, the queen, is an evil(邪恶的) magician. She puta spell(符咒) on Snow White. That is why we thought she was dead. That is terrible. I can’t allow her to put evil spells on people. Guards! Arrest(逮捕) the queen. The king’s guards ran to arrest the queen. But when they went to her room, it was empty. The queen ran away, and no one saw her ever again.Snow White and the prince were married that year. The dwarves made wedding rings(结婚戒指)with the gold from their mines(矿). People from all over the kingdom came to the wedding. Everyone was so happy, and they all wanted to see the little men who helped Snow White. The dwarves were heroes.

Chapter 1Scene 1 The Mirror On The WallNarrator(解说员): This is a story about love and how love and beauty are more powerful than wickedness(邪恶) and jealousy (嫉妒). Many years ago there was a tiny beautiful kingdom(王国) in a faraway place. Now this kingdom was ruled by a kind and good king who had a lovely and gentle wife as his Queen. The tiny kingdom glowed(闪烁) with the magic of their love and they had a daughter who was the most beautiful child the world had ever seen and they called her Snow White. Sadly, shortly after Snow White was born, her mother, the good and noble(高贵的) Queen, died of a mysterious(神秘的) illness. And the king soon remarried(再婚).This new Queen was truly beautiful but her beauty went no deeper than her skin. She was a wicked and cruel woman who was only happy when she was looking into one of her many mirrors. And when the good king perished(死亡) while fighting a war in a faraway land, the new Queen did not shed(流<泪>) a single tear. For now she could tax(征税) the people heavily and use the money to buy all sorts of lotions(护肤液) and potions(药剂) that would maintain her great beauty. The people of the kingdom became sad and frightened. The Queen had many many mirrors, but by far her favorite was a magic mirror which always spoke the total and absolute(绝对的) truth. For many years several times each day, the vain(爱虚荣的) Queen would look into her magic mirror and ask the same question.Queen: Magic mirror tell me do, tell your mistress(女主人) tell her true, answer me obey(服从) my call, who's the loveliest of all?Narrator: At each time the magic mirror would answer exactly the same way. Mirror: The answer, Queen, is crystal clear(显而易见的), you are the most lovely far and near.Narrator: And then one fateful(不幸的) day the Queen received an answer of a different sort. Yes, a very different sort indeed.Mirror: Her skin is pure as a brand new snow, her eyes set people's hearts a glow, lips red as blood, hair black as night, the loveliest is there, Snow White Queen: What? How can this be? I am the most beautiful woman in the land. I always have been and I always shall be. Treacherous(背叛的) mirror, how dare you say Snow White is lovelier than I!Mirror :Your loveliness is great 'tis true, but there is one more fair(美丽的) than you. For Snow White's beauty does begin where yours does stop, 'tis from within.Queen: Send me my Royal(王室的) Huntsman immediately!(The Royal Huntsman arrivesQueen:So you understand what it is I want you to do, my loyal(忠诚的) Huntsman.Huntsman: But Your Highness(皇后陛下)Queen: I ask you a simple question. Do you understand?Huntsman: Yes, Your Highness, I understand.Queen: Good, because if for some reason you should fail, then tonight I shall be dining upon head of huntsman. Do I make myself clear?Huntsman: Yes, Your HighnessQueen: Then we understand one another. Now go!Scene 2 The Ruthful(充满同情的) Huntsman(By the riverside, Snow White is plucking(摘) wild flowers. Huntsman comes near her:)Snow White: (To a little animal.) Don't worry. I won't take away your little hiding place What a beautiful glorious(令人愉快的) day! Have you ever seen such a lovely sunshiny day, Huntsman?Huntsman: Even the sunniest of days may have its dark clouds (天有不测风云),Princess.Snow White: Oh, Huntsman, don't be so glum(忧郁的,闷闷不乐的). You are beginning to sound just like my stepmother(继母). Oh,I wish there were a way I could make her happyHuntsman: You would not be so anxious to make the Queen happy if you knew why she sent us here.Snow White(laughing): I know, let's pick some wild berries(野草莓) for my stepmother. Perhaps that would please(使高兴) her.(Huntsman raises his sword<剑>.)Snow White: Huntsman, what are you doing?Huntsman: I, I cannot do it!Snow White: Huntsman, what is it?Huntsman: Run! Princess, run for your life!Snow White: My life? What are you talking about?Huntsman: The queen, she is jealous of your beauty. She has ordered me to slay(杀死) you.Snow White: Slay me?Huntsman: Your stepmother will do anything to see you dead.Snow White: She wishes me dead? I cannot believe this, surely you were mistaken?Huntsman: There is no mistake! You must flee(逃走)! Run far as you can,go! Snow White:But what about you, if you disobey(不服从) the Queen...Huntsman: Run, I say!Snow White:I shall never forget you, Huntsman!Huntsman: Not I you, Princess. Now quickly you must go and never return. (Snow White hears Huntsman's words and runs into the forest. suddenly she runs into(撞到) a man. He was the Prince of a nearby kingdom.)Prince: Whoa there, wait a minute, miss. You are the most lovely creature this forest has ever seen.Snow White: Please, let me go.Prince:Who are you? What are you afraid of? Let me help you please. (Snow White runs away.) After her! I must know who she is! Never have these eyes gazed upon(看到、注视) such beauty. Never have I felt like this. Truly I think this must be love.Servant 1: Sire(陛下) ,she has disappeared from sight.Servant 2: It's true, Sire, perhaps she was a witch(女巫) or a gnome(地神). Prince: No, my friends, no one with a face like hers could be a witch or a gnome.I swear(发誓) by all that I hold scared(害怕的) I shall find that girl no matter how long it takes. If I am lucky enough she will become my princess.Chapter 2Scene 1 The Little Cottage(小屋)(Snow White runs and runs. And she stops before a house.)Narrator: Snow White had never seen a place like this but somehow she knew it was a safe place.Snow White: Hello? Is there anyone at home? Can anyone hear me?(Snow White pushes the door open and walks in.)Snow White:I said, is there anybody here?(She sees seven small beds, and a small table with seven bowls full of food on it.)Snow White:Oh,my!(哦,天啊!)What sweet(可爱的) little chairs, What a cute(小巧的) little table!Oh,what delicious looking food! This must be a house for children. There must be one two, three.... seven of them!Surely they won't mind if I take a little something. I'm so hungry from my journey.Oh,what nice little children must live here, I must try to stay awake long enough to thank them for the kindness to me.(Snow White is so tired that she falls asleep soon.)Narrotor: Now what Snow White could not possibly know was that this house did not belong to children at all but to dwarfs, seven of them identical(相同的) and all brothers.Sunbeam:Hey,somebody’s been sitting in my chair!Toadstool:And using my spoon.Fun:And eating my soup.Hedgehog:And my bread.Robin:And drinking from my cup.Cricket:And nibbling(咬) at my fruit.Tadpole:And sleeping in my bed. All:Who is she? How’d she get here?Sunbeam:Isn't she beautiful?Toadstools:Yes,but what’s she doing here??Fun: It's just a girl.Hedgehog:Shh…you’ll wake her.Tadpole:But she's sleeping in my bed (Snow White wakes up.)Snow White:Didn't anyone ever tell you that it is rude to wake someone up by yelling(大叫)?All: No.Nope(没有).No way!Tadpole: But you're still in my bedAll:Yeah, yes, you know.
