例如:The man lay there。

his hands trembling。

So many students being absent。

the meeting had to be put off。

His homework done。

Tom went to sleep。

The boy lay on his back。

his hands crossed under his head。

The job not finished。

we couldn’t see the film。

Her shirt caught on a nail。

she could not move。

XXX going for a ic。

with Mary to provide the food. These are the first two books。

The girl hid her box without anyone knowing where it was. (without +名词/代 词+动词的-ing形式) Without a word more spoken, she left the meeting room. (without+名词/代词+动词的-ed形 式) The kid feels excited with so many places of interest to visit. (with+名词/代词+动词不定式) The boy was walking, with his father ahead. (with+名词/代词+副词) He stood at the door, with a computer in his hand. (with+名词/代词+介词短语) With his son so disappointing, the old man felt unhappy.

AJose Adolfo is a banker from Peru. He encourages children to save money and offers his customers cash for recycling plastic wastes. But the remarkable thing is that he is still a child himself. By the age of 7, he decided to create a bank for children. He was motivated by seeing his classmates skipping lunch because they had spent the little money they had on sweets or football cards. What drove him even more was the poverty he saw among children. With the support of a local company, the 14-year-old founded the Bartselana student bank which now has more than 2,000 customers between the ages of 10 and 18. Children can withdraw (提取) money from several cashpoints of the bank. They can also monitor their balances online. What makes it different from traditional banks is that it sets savings goals for children. They have to reach those goals in order to withdraw their money. The student bank really took off when he came up with the “Recycle Plan”, a new way for the children to earn money by collecting recyclable plastic or paper waste. Students can bring recyclable plastic bottles, used school books and old newspapers to the schools and put them into the collecting boxes. The recycling is weighed and the money goes to their bank accounts. The bank recycles 4.4 tons of material a month and has collecting boxes in seven schools in Arequipa. More are on a waiting list. Increasingly the model is in demand in the rest of Peru and abroad. His efforts have been noticed by Peru’s environment ministry. “He’s making an amazing change in financial (理财的) education that perhaps many adults could not come up with,” said the Peru’s environment minister, Lucia Ruiz. “He’s achieving a double goal because he’s not just designing a financial opportunity for children and teenagers but also helping to reduce waste in the country.”1.Why did Jose create a bank for children?A. To help poor children.B. To provide free lunch.C. To offer outdoor activities.D. To improve school condition.2.What is special about the student bank ? A. It makes saving goals.B. It monitors the balance.C. It has several cashpoints.D. It serves customers online.3.According to paragraph 4, students can earn money by _______ .A. using less plastic bottlesB. using old school booksC. collecting plastic wastesD. cleaning collecting boxes4.What can we know about the “Recycle Plan” ?A. It’s typical.B. It’s successful.C. It’s risky.D. It’s well-organized .5.According to Lucia Ruiz, why is Jose’s job meaningful?A.He gave money to poor children.B.He taught children how to spend money.C.He helped adults receive financial education.D.He contributed to financial education and recycling.BLike many inventions, language translators were imagined by writers long before they became real. In Hugo Gernsback’s 1911 novel A Romance of the Year 2660, characters use a video telephone that can translate from one language to another. A language translator also appears in Murray Leinster’s1945 First Contact. In that story, humans and creatures from another planet made a translation device together after asking for contact with one another. The idea of the language translator didn’t become truly popular, however, until the “universal tra nslator” appeared in the 1970 Star Trek series, which delighted television viewers at that time. That device was universal in the sense that it could translate any language that it came across. The first real language translator was demonstrated (展示) by engineers from IBM company and Georgetown University in 1954. Their machine could only translate Russian sentences into English.Language translators have come a long way since then. Today, online translations can be accessed easily at no cost to users. With translation apps, users sometimes don’t even have to look things up. All they need to do is point their cellphone’s camera at some writing, and a translation immediately appears. If users want to translate something being said aloud, they just turn on their phone’s microphone. All of these features save time and effort.Translation apps on phones make foreign travel much easier than before. They are invaluable and convenient when it comes to communicating with taxi drivers or hotel waiters who don’t speak a traveler’s native language. But these apps are far from perfect. Sometimes a translation makes no sense, forcing the user to guess what the translation means. At other times, the user might not know that the translation has failed until he or she shows it to a native speaker.6.When was the idea of the language translator widely known?A. In 1911.B. In 1945.C. In 1970.D. In 1954.7.We can infer from the text that _____________.A.writers are usually cleverer than inventors.B.the idea of a language translator came from science stories.C.engineers made language translators to delight TV viewers.D.it took little effort for people to develop language translators.8.What does the underlined word “they” refer to in paragraph 4?A. Translation apps.B. Users.C. Translations.D. Phones.9.How does the writer conclude the text?A.By telling that online translation will change our life.B.By explaining that online translation has its weakness.C.By introducing how to use translation apps in travelling.D.By discussing why people should give up translation apps.10.What is the best title for the text?A.How do science stories become true?B.Can languages be translated into each other?C.How does a language translator develop?D.Why do we depend on language translators?

2024黑龙江省实验中学高一英语寒假考试考试时间:60分钟满分:100分一、阅读理解(共12小题;每题3分,满分36分)ADevon Gallagher, a college graduate from Philadelphia, wants the world to know exactly where she’s been during her worldwide vacation in a special way.The traveler, who was born with a bone disease, had her right leg amputated (截肢) at the age of four. Although the amputation caused setbacks for Gallagher early on, she now sees it as nothing short of inspiration for living her best life.To spread that message, Gallagher has taken to social media, where she shares photos of her travels across the globe, but instead of simply using a geotag, she writes her location across her artificial leg before taking a picture.Amsterdam, relaxing on a wall overlooking the city of Barcelona, posing with a waffle in Brussels, taking spectacular pictures in Athens and enjoying a river cruise in Budapest, all with the well-known locations written on her artificial leg.“I get a new leg every two years and I can choose the design on it. One day I had a sudden thought to get a chalkboard,”Gallagher said. “My mum and grandmother weren’t too keen on the idea, but my friends thought it was great and told me to go for it, so I did.”Gallagher said people often stare when she’s writing on her leg, but once she shares the photos, she receives only positive feedback. “My leg hasn’t stopped me from doing anything I’ve wanted to do,”she said. “I don’t know if it’s my determination to prove to myself that I can do it, but regardless, I’ve been able to keep up with my peers and lead a pretty great life.”Gallagher shows us that you should never let anything stand in the way of your dreams. And if life gives you an artificial leg, make art.1.What message did Gallagher want to spread in her special way?A.She enjoys her traveling across the globe.B.She suffers little from her leg amputation.C.She looks on her misfortune as another form of blessing.D.She has exactly fallen in love with posting photos online.2.What does the underlined word “which” in Paragraph 4 refer to?A.The Continent.B.The pictures.C.The leg.D.The locations. 3.Gallagher can best be described as ________.A.helpful and ambitious B.friendly and generousC.determined and creative D.independent and sensible4.Which of the following might be the best title for the text?A.Never Too Late to Share B.A Special Artificial LegC.An Outstanding Photographer D.Gallagher’s Summer HolidaysBEach year, backed up by a growing anti-consumerist movement, people are using the holiday season to call on us all to shop less.Driven by concerns about resource exhaustion, over recent years environmentalists have increasingly turned their sight on our “consumer culture”, with Groups such as The Story of Stuff and Buy Nothing New Day growing as a movement that increasingly blames all our ills on our desire to shop.We clearly have a growing resource problem. The products we make, buy and use are often linked to the destruction of our waterways, biodiversity, climate and the land on which millions of people live, but to blame these issues on Christmas shoppers is misguided, and puts us in the old trap of blaming individuals for what is a systematic problem. While we complain about environmental destruction over Christmas, environmentalists often forget what the holiday season actually means for many people. In fact, for most, rather than an add-on to an already heavy shopping year, Christmas is likely the only time of year they have the opportunity to spend on friends and family, or even just to buy the necessities needed for modern life. This is particularly true for Boxing Day, often laughed at by anti-consumerists the most. While we may look down on the queues in front of the shops, for many, those sales provide the chance to buy things they've needed all year. As journalist Leigh Phillips argues, “This is one of the few times of the year that people can even hope to afford such ‘luxuries’, the Christmas presents their kids are asking for, or just an appliance that works.”Indeed, the richest 7% of people are responsible for 50% of greenhouse gas emissions. This becomes particularly harmful when you take into account of our consumption “problem” anyway. Why are environmentalists attacking these individuals, while ignoring people like Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich, who has his own £ 1.5bn yacht with a missile defense system?Anyway, anti-consumerism has become a movement of wealthy people talking down to the working class about their life choice, while ignoring the real cause of our environmental problem. It is no wonder no one is changing their behaviour—or that environmental destruction continues without becoming any less severe.5. What can be inferred about the environmentalist movement from Paragraphs 2 and 3?A. It has targeted the wrong persons.B. It has achieved its intended purposes.C. It has solved the environmental problems.D. It has persuaded consumers not to shop any more.6. What does Leigh Phillips think of Boxing Day?A. A trap for consumers.B. A tough problem to deal with.C. A precious shopping opportunity.D. A positive contribution to the economy.7. For what purpose is Roman Abramovich mentioned in the text?A. To show how rich he is.B. To announce he is a Russian.C. To present his contributions to the environment.D. To suggest the real cause of environmental problems hasn't been found.8. What is the text mainly about?A. The environmental problems are very serious.B. Less shopping can't solve the environmental problems.C. Resources are becoming fewer and fewer on the earth.D. Measures should be taken to protect the environment.CHave you ever paid for educational podcasts (播客) or live videos? Ask some people and most of them will say yes. “Pay-for-knowledge” has been more and more fashionable these years. The contents of these “pay-for-knowledge” products are from language learning to gardening or baby-caring. Everything you think of can be found online at this moment. “Pay-for-knowledge” is on the rise (兴起).Why is “pay-for-knowledge” industry developing so rapidly? First, its development is based on the Internet. With a fast network and a smartphone, anyone who has passed the identity(身份)check can be an online teacher, and anyone with an online account can buy “pay-for-knowledge” products that he or she wants at an affordable price. Second, people are afraid to miss any information. On one hand, people hope for more useful information. On the other hand, such information is usually at the hands of experts (专家) who serve well-known companies and universities. Moreover, the need to learn new skills in today's job market also pushes people to learn on such educational podcasts.turning information into money. It is good for the development of our country and it can help sellers make lots of money. Besides, buyers can enjoy self-growth from it. What's more, this is a reflection (反映) of respect for knowledge and talents. However, the rapid development of “pay-for-knowledge” has a few problems. For one thing, the market is full of eye-catching words such as “How to be an Industry's Expert in 5 Hours” and “15 Classes to Be a Master of Appreciating (欣赏) Classical Music”, which sound like if you pay for it, you are sure to succeed. For another, a large number of customers buy them just for showing off. In fact, those who have really had self-growth after buying online courses may be the kind of people who need them least. In other words, with or without these courses, they can make it anyway, because they are those who have the ability to learn by themselves. In general, the best is the one that suits you most. “Pay-for-knowledge” may be used as a good start for self-growth. Be careful! Otherwise, your dream of success may not come true.9. Which of the following is TRUE according to the passage?A. “Pay-for-knowledge” products can help all the people succeed.B. “Pay-for-knowledge” products can offer people different kinds of courses.C. People who can teach themselves need “pay-for-knowledge” products most.D. People must learn from experts who serve famous companies and universities.10. The advantages of its products.A. get much informationB. produce lots of moneyC. win great respectD. enjoy self-growth12. The main purpose of this passage is to ________.A. recommend the “pay-for-knowledge” products to peopleB. advise everyone to learn knowledge by themselves onlineC. remind people to choose “pay-for-knowledge” products wiselyD. teach parents how to buy some online courses for their children二、七选五(共5小题;每题3分,满分15分)Going camping is one of the best ways to get in touch with nature and enjoy the beautiful outdoors.

The experiment done, we went on to take notes in the experiment report. = After the experiment had been done, we went on to take notes in the experiment report.

Cell phones being very small, we can use them conveniently. = Because cell phones are very small, we can use them conveniently.

Almost all metals are good conductors, silver being the best of all. = Almost all metals are good conductors, and silver is the best of all.

1. _____ late, we had to walk home. A.Being B.As we were C.We being D.Aand B2. _____ busy, they had no time to play. A.As they were B.Being C.Becausethey were D.all the above2、时间状语1. _____ the students' homework, the teacher found a lot of mistakes.A.When he was correcting C.When he corrected C.Correcting D.all the above2. _____ by your teachers, you are supposed to be modest.A.When you are praisedB.PraisedC.When praisedD.all the above3. 1. _______ more time, he is sure to finish his test paper.

①He fought against the thief, a stick (being) his only weapon (= and a stick was his only weapon).

②He has translated the whole book into English, an English-Chinese dictionary (being) his tool.(=and an English-Chinese dictionary was his tool.)

Yet, I was determined to go ahead.I remember back to my 7th year in school. In my first P.E. class, the teacher required us to run laps and then hit a softba ll. I didn’t do either well. He later informed me that I was “not athletic”.The idea that I was “not athletic” stuck with me for years. When I started running in my 30s, I realized running was a battle against myself, not about competition or whether or not I was athletic. It was all about the battle against my own body and mind. A test of wills! The night before my marathon, I dreamed that I couldn’t even find the finish line. I woke up sweating and nervous, but ready to prove something to myself.Shortly after crossing the start line, my shoe laces (鞋带) became untied. So I stopped to readjust. Not the start I wanted! At mile 3, I passed a sign: “GO FOR IT, RUNNERS!”By mile 17, I became out of breath and the once injured ankle hurt badly. He is the pangolin (穿山甲), an endangered animal.According to the wildlife trade monitoring organization Traffic, about one million pangolins were killed from 2000 through 2013, mainly for their scales, which are used in medicine. Pangolins are sensitive creatures and picky eaters that only eat certain species of ants, a diet that’s very difficult to copy in the food chain.“In the last decade, there’s been a huge growth trade in pa ngolins between continents, especially their scales,” says Dan Challender, chair of the pangolin specialist group. Previously, most pangolin killing happened within Asia, he says. This shift means that Asian pangolins are becoming difficult to find but that the value of the scales makes it worth the extra cost to take pangolins from Africa to Asia secretly. All eight species of pangolins, four in Africa and four in Asia, are in danger of extinction due to theillegal trade. International trade in the four species of Asian pangolins has been banned since 2000. In the past few years, a ban on international commercial trade in all eight species has gone into effect. It was voted by 183 governments that are parties to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES), which is in charge of cross-border trade in wild animals and their parts.Pangolins are eaten as bushmeat in western and central Africa and by some local groups in South and Southeast Asia. Their parts also are used in Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa, and elsewhere in subSaharan Africa as traditional medicine. Typically dried, ground into powder, and put into pills, pangolin scales are used in a range of traditional medicines to help mothers who have given birth to babies to recover. But they are now endangered. Perhaps no pangolins can be seen when our next generation grow up.28. What do you know about pangolins from Paragraph 2?A. Their scales are of great value.B. Their meat is very delicious.C. They are smaller than young dogs.D. They are on the top of the food chain.29. Why are pangolins brought from Africa to Asia?A. People in Asia can really save pangolins.B. No laws protect pangolins in Africa.C. Pangolins are cheaper in Africa.D. Pangolins have sharply decreased in numbers in Asia.30. What does the fourth paragraph mainly tell us?A. The bans on pangolin trade are ineffective.B. Pangolins have many different species.C. Governments have tried to contribute to the protection of pangolins.D. People used to take advantage of pangolins in different ways.31. What’s the author’s attitude towards pangolins’ future?A. Confident.B. Uncaring.C. Concerned.D. Positive.DGarbage sorting has become a hot issue around China, especially after Shanghai began carrying out a regulation (规章制度) on July 1.Beijing has thus been expected to follow suit. The current regulation gives garbage sorting responsibilities to government departments, property management groups and other organizations. It also gives rules for companies, explaining how they’re responsible for waste collection, transportation and treatment. Only individuals are not subject to responsibilities. The long-awaited revision will soon change the situation. “Taking out the t rash without sorting it properly will be illegal,” said Sun Xinjun, director of the Beijing Commission of Urban Management. In Shanghai, violators are now fined up to 200 yuan for trash-sorting violations (违背). The maximum fine in Beijing will not be less than that, he said. The Beijing city government first set out to promote garbage sorting in 2009. Authorities have since called on citizens to sort their household waste into four types-recyclable waste, kitchen trash, dangerous waste and others —and leave it in a corresponding dustbin or trash can. Blue-colored dustbins indicate items within are recyclable, green represents kitchen trash, red corresponds to dangerous materials and grey to other waste. To promote the awareness of garbage sorting and expand the base of participants, authorities have employed workers to help citizens on the spot. With intelligent devices, those who throw in recyclable waste at given sites will be rewarded with bonus points, which can be used to buy daily goods. At some communities, there are no color-coded dustbins. Instead, a scheduled garbage collection service isoffered to help improve the environment. In other communities, workers offer a door-to-door service to collect recyclables or kitchen waste.Beijing Environmental Sanitation Engineering Group has been promoting new garbage sorting facilities such as recycling cabinets and smart kitchen waste trash cans since 2016, Xinhua News Agency reported.32.

3.Lots of homework to do,IhavetostaPhomealldaP.4.

5.So manP children to look after,themotherhastoquitherjob.6.
