一)、Words
1.amazingadj.意为“令人惊讶的,令人感叹的”。
注意与amazed的区别:amazing作形容词,意为“令人惊讶的,令人感叹的”,表示主动关系,多用于修饰事物;amazed作形容词,意为“感到惊讶的,赞叹的”,表示被动关系,多用于修饰人。
2.happenvi.意为“发生”
常用句型为:sth.happens to sb.意为“某人发生某事”。
如:The robbery happened near the bank.
Don't worry.Nothing bad happened to them.
短语happen to do sth.意为“碰巧做某事”
如:I happened to see him on my way home.
3.Without prep.意为“没有”,后接名词,代词或-ing等,所引导的介词短语在句中做状语。
We couldn't finish our work so early without your help.
4.that adv.意为“那么;那样” 还可用作指示代词,意为“那个”(指离说话人较远的那一个;或用来指代和上文所提到的东西属于同一概念的另外一个事物)。

*look up意为“向上看;查阅”

*pass by意为“经过;路过”其中“by” 是副词。
如:Someone passed by me just now,but I didn't notice who he or she was. 四)、Grammar
一般过去时
(1)表示在过去时间里所发生的动作或存在的状态。
常见的时间状语有:yesterday,yesterday morning/afternoon/evening,last week/month/year/summer,an hour ago,just now,in the past,in 1982等。
如:Where did you go just_now?
He left for Shanghai last_night.
(2)表示在过去一段时间内,经常性或习惯性的动作。
如:When I was a child,I often played football in the street.
注意:有时,情态动词can,will等用过去式表示委婉语气。
如:Could you lend me your bike?
Would you please not talk loud here?
(3)动词的过去式变化如下:
*be动词的过去式:is/am—was;are—were
实义动词的过去式:
*一般情况下,动词词尾加-ed,如:work—worked play—played wanted—wanted act—acted
*以不发音的-e 结尾动词,动词词尾加-d,如:live—lived move—moved taste—tasted hope—hoped
*以辅音字母+ y结尾的动词,把-y变为-i 再加-ed,如:copy—copied cry—cried
carry—carried
*以一个辅音字母结尾的重读闭音节动词,双写词尾辅音字母,再加-ed,如:stop—stopped *不规则动词的过去式变化规律性不强,须多加记忆。
如go—went make—made get—got buy—bought
(4)一般过去时各种句式结构
*当谓语动词为be 动词时,句式结构如下:
肯定句:主语+was/were +其他。
否定句:主语+wasn't/weren't+其他。
一般疑问句:Was/Were+主语+其他?回答:Yes,…was/were./No.…wasn't/weren't.
*当谓语动词为行为动词时,句式结构如下:
肯定句:主语+动词过去式+其他。
否定句:主语+didn't+动词原形+其他。
一般疑问句:Did+主语+动词原形+其他?回答:Yes,…did./No,…didn't.。
