English is important

1、There is no duobt that a growing number of chinese people learn english.

Why it is so important for Chinese people to learn the English language?

In my opinion, this phenomenon marks the beginning of a new era in China's history; an era of diversity, of material and cultural richness, and an era of the rebirth of the Chinese nation.

Admittedly,there are different purposes behind this phenomenon,but the following are the most critical ones.Firstly,as everyone knows,english has been used everywhere in the world.It has become the most common language for international trade.If we can speak English well,we will have more chance to succeed.

Secondly,in my eyes,the traditional Chinese culture teaches us to study hard and work hard so as to honor our family. Faced with a harsh job market, people have no choice but to learn english so that they can show employers that they are versatile;they have made an effort to learn skills outside their major.In addition,they are constantly looking forward to improving themselves.Another factor is that be good at english still weighs heavily in terms of signifying one’s ability. For the sake of increasing their odds of landing a better job, the students are compelled to learn english.W hat’s more,a resume with just degrees and work experiences looks a bit boring;an ability to speak english,like accessories,complete the outfit.All of the above is what sets them apart from other applicants when applying for a sought-after position.

But for myself,I learn English not only because of its importance and its usefulness,but also because of my love for it.When I learn English, I can feel a different way of thinking which gives me more room to touch the world.When I read English novels,I can feel the pleasure from the book which is different from reading the translation.When I speak English, I can feel the confident from my words.When I write English,I can see the beauty which is not the same as our Chinese...

Last but not least,with the rapid development of Chinese economics and the policy of reform and opening up be carried out,chinese people can use english to communicate with foreign people,and to introduce our great places and our culture to the world,so that people in others country will kown more china and love it.Integration of the culture will help economics development.Finally,we can make contribution to promote our country develop in globalization.
