Their black and white fur makes them look like they are wearing an adorable little tuxedo outfit. Pandas primarily eat bamboo and they are excellent tree climbers. Sadly, there aren't that many pandas left in the wild anymore due to habitat loss. I really hope conservation efforts can save these gentle giants before it's too late.Another tremendous wild animal is the lion. Lions are the "king of the jungle" and they look so mighty and powerful. They have those luscious manes of fur around their heads that makethem appear even bigger and stronger than they already are. Lions live together in family groups called prides with a male lion in charge of protecting the females and cubs. I love watching videos of lions roaring. They sound so ferocious! Of course, you wouldn't want to run into one face-to-face in the wild. But from a safe distance, lions are simply majestic.Sea creatures are also endlessly fascinating to me. My favorite is the dolphin. Dolphins are crazy intelligent and seem to almost have a sense of humor, kind of like an underwater dog. Their long tongues are purple-bluish in color and can be up to 20 inches long. That's almost as long as my arm! They use those crazy long tongues to grab leaves off trees.When giraffes want to have a drink of water, they have to bend down and spread their long front legs to reach the ground with their mouth. It looks so funny and silly when they bend their knees and necks down like that. I wish I could do that, but I'd definitely fall over!Mother giraffes give birth while standing up, so their cute little calf babies just plop down to the ground from way up high! Imagine being born from that height - the poor babies must get so dizzy. But they have to learn to stand up really quickly so theycan run with their family across the wide open grasslands where they live.I also love watching shows about sharks on TV. Sharks are these huge, scary-looking fish that live in the oceans. Some sharks are longer than a couple of cars put together! They have hundreds of sharp, pointy teeth in their big jaws that they use for biting prey. I definitely wouldn't want to meet an angry shark while swimming!Sharks have to keep swimming all the time in order to breathe properly. Their fins help steer them through the water as they chase fish, seals, and other animals to eat. Certain sharks can even smell a single drop of blood in the ocean from miles and miles away. Their sense of smell is crazy good.Baby sharks hatch from tough leathery eggs laid by the mother shark. When they're born, baby sharks have to be really careful and avoid being eaten by bigger sharks or other predators in the ocean. It's like a constant life-or-death situation out there in shark life!I find sharks super fascinating, but also pretty terrifying if I'm being honest. I don't think I'd ever want to come face-to-face with a great white shark. Those things are basically swimmingmonsters!
