Why Should Euthanasia Be Legalized翻译

Why Should Euthanasia Be Legalized翻译

Why Should Euthanasia Be LegalizedBy Morris.M

Euthanasia

Euthanasia

Euthanasia: A Means, Not the End Summary:Euthanasia means "happy death" or "mercy killing", which is sometimes used to help patients die without suffering too much pain. The purpose of euthanasia is kind and benevolent, but as it is related to death, the result may not seem so kind or benevolent when we see anyone die. This is why euthanasia becomes one of the most widely and hotly debated issues in society. Do we have "the right to die"? Should euthanasia be legalized? In what kind of situation will euthanasia be put into practice?(words:87)With the high-speed development of medicine, our life become much longer and more comfortable. Though medicine can usually prevent us from death, we cannot avoid dying throughout life. If your disease were incurable, of course high-level medicine could extend your life more or less, but it would also extend your pain at the same time. In this situation, as death is visible and unavoidable while pain is hard for you to stand, euthanasia is used. Many people around the world are in favor of the idea of euthanasia, the core concept they invoke is "the right to die", which means anyone who has incurable disease with pain beyond suffering can choose to die when they or their family is determined to. People supporting the idea "the right to die" believe that euthanasia is humane, because it helps hasten the death of hopelessly ill patients, relieving them from the fierce pain, which is good for not only the dying patients but their families.Of course, the use of euthanasia has rationality. It's necessary to permit euthanasia in some special situations. However, there are also many disadvantages of euthanasia. First, euthanasia can be abused when doctors is treating disabled people and old people, which leads to crime. Second, when a seriously-ill patient is determined to take euthanasia, he may not make clear-headed decision because his consciousness is probably muddled. Third, too many examples of euthanasia may result in social moral crisis and doctors may not try their best to cure a dying patient once they have the power to practice euthanasia. This conduct is nothing less than murdering. In order to prevent the abuse of euthanasia, we must strictly standard ize the application of euthanasia. So, when can doctor use euthanasia legally? I think it depends on several conditions.First of all, euthanasia can be only practiced on terminally ill patients, when the practice of euthanasia serves only to hasten death. Secondly, we should guarantee the earnest and strictness of euthanasia, so taking euthanasia need the permission of patient himself or his family, the acceptance of doctors and the certificate from court. Thirdly, the method to practice euthanasia must conform to humanitarianism, and only professional and qualified doctor can practice euthanasia. Finally, legal euthanasia can't betray its original purpose. Euthanasia is a merciful way to end patients' life. Doctors practice euthanasia in order that the patients will no longer suffer a fierce pain. Euthanasia can make the patients die peacefully. To some extent, it is a kind of respect to human life.Euthanasia has come into being for a long time, it's impossible and groundless to forbid it completely. I think it won't be long to legalize euthanasia in China, what we should do is to make the law on euthanasia as perfect as possible.Anyhow, we shouldn't regard euthanasia as a painless way to commit suicide, and there is no reason for us to take it for granted that euthanasia is a good way to terminate our life. Y ou cannot expect euthanasia to bring you any relief as it seems, the only thing euthanasia can do is take your pain with your life. After all, life is the most precious treasure we have.In fact, to terminate one's life by taking euthanasia is not only a legal issue but also a moral issue because it refers to a choice between painfully liv ing and comfortably dying. Which one would you choose? Just like what Confucius said: "It's useless talking about death before you understand life clearly."[1]According to Confucius's words, it's useless talking about choosing how to die while we haven't settled the problems of life. So should we pay too much attention on "the right of death" while we still can't guarantee the rights of life? Is it the time for us to focus more on those people who are alive?(words:655)

Whether euthanasia should be legalized crime, this problem more and more attention of the society. Abroad already had a lot of national recognition of the legalization of euthanasia and to perfect legislation, our country so far occurred euthanasia case still showed no legal regulation of euthanasia in china. I think it does not constitute a criminal law on the crime, in order to adapt to social development, China should accelerate the pace of the legalization of euthanasia legislation to euthanasia, but should be strictly limited conditions.“安乐死”一词源自希腊文,由安逸和死两个词素构成。

Should Physician-assisted Suicide Be Legalized In China?Physician-assisted suicide refers to the practice that a physician provides medication or other interventions to a patient with the understanding that the patient intends to use them to commit suicide. The history of the debate about it has been long. However, new life-sustaining techniques and medical advances have made the debate much more heated than ever before. As a consequence, the question whether should physician-assisted suicide be legalized arouses hot discussion. The supporters held the view that when suffering is immeasurable and a patient’s condition terminal, doctors should be permitted by law to end a patient’s life. However, the opponents are strongly against it, because they thought that physician’s duty is to try their best to save life rather than to end life and the lack of information for suicide in terminally ill patients will lead to crimes. As we can see, it seems quite difficult for both sides to come to a compromise. In my opinion, physician-assisted suicide shouldn’t be legalized in China. It is acknowledged that the Netherlands was the first country to legalize assisted suicide around the world. To avoid abnormal death caused by doctors’ abusing physician-assisted suicide, the Termination of Life on Request and Assisted Suicide (Review Procedures) Act which was promulgated in 2002 legalizes physician-assisted suicide in very specific cases under very specific circumstances. But the startling fact is 72% of the reported 3200 deaths in 2010 where the ending of a life occurred without the explicit request of the patient and many cases was suspected of beinginvolved in intentional homicide.Although the societies of China and Netherlands are quite different, this dose not mean that the evidence from the Netherlands is not important. Netherlands is such a highly-developed country and enjoys equally high welfare and a stable social life. It cannot ensure that each practice of physician-assisted dying is legal, let alone China, a developing country with a huge gap between the poor and rich. If physician-assisted suicide is legalized in China, perhaps the crime rate will jump higher than any other countries. Moreover, the prime motivation for the Netherlands to legalize assisted suicide is out of respect of life and ending immeasurable suffering seems more humane. But the main reason for most Chinese people, who request to terminate their life, is that they cannot afford high medical expenses.Once an article in People's Daily reported that nine people from Xi'an City in China wrote to local media asking for euthanasia. They had uremia, a disease caused by the failure of the kidneys. In their letter, they expressed their unbearable suffering and a strong desire to die. But the truth, which was revealed in a later survey, is that the expenses have impoverished their families since they fell ill. They suffered not only physically but also mentally. The article stated all that could be done for them was to ask the doctors to ease their pain because it is illegal for doctors to help their patients die,.This kind of thing happens everyday. From this point of view, we can know that it is rather premature now to legalize assisted suicide. And the key to the problem atpresent is to improve the living conditions of the Chinese by providing good medical and social services and establishing a perfect medical security system. Only in this way, can patients be more positive to their diseases and learn to cherish their beautiful lives. In addition, legalizing assisted suicide will have a bad influence on relationships of doctors and patients. People who traditionally rely on their doctors to provide guidance in their health care decisions may become confused, even alarmed. Because they cannot judge that whether the doctors give them a lethal prescription or not. Even worse, physician-assisted suicide will distort the healing purpose of medicine. In a word, it is unwise and premature to legalize physician-assisted suicide in China now. Choosing to die is a complicated subject that needs clear thinking. patients should learn to face difficulties bravely and believe that medical science will bring us with good fortune someday.。

Euthanasia

Euthanasia

Euthanasia Should Be LegalizedEuthanasia is the practice of intentionally ending a life in order to relieve pain and suffering. Although euthanasia is widely known in the world, it hasn’t bee n performed much today because it is illegal in most countries. At the debate over whether should we use euthanasia, I think it should be legalized for the humans’ rights and ethic.Euthanasia fits human’s right s. People have the right to live, and also have the right to die. So we should give people the freedom of ending their life legally in some special cases. That is euthanasia. Sometimes, people need euthanasia when they don’t want to surfer great pains before death. Sometimes, people want to give up their life when there is no ways to cure of the diseases. So, euthanasia is a good choice for them to liberate from pains.Euthanasia fits human’s ethic. The ethic of human is changing rapidly as the development of human civilization. In the ancient days, human’s life is considered to be given by god, which can’t be end optionally by human beings. At that time, pains and sufferings are the punishments of god and human mustn’t relieve the m by euthanasia. As time goes, traditional ethics can’t set back people’s development anymore and people built up the new ethic system. Today, euthanasia fit human’s ethic of choosing life or death by themselves. To make it more practicable, a complete law system should be built before the widely using of euthanasia. Firstly, euthanasia can only be used under certain conditions, especially at the agreement of the patient. Second, the person whoperforms euthanasia must be a doctor who is trained specially. What’s more, a strict standard about whether a man can choose euthanasia is of vital importance to prevent people from unnecessary self killing. All in all, euthanasia may become popular among people who want to end their life peacefully in the future, but the first step is to legalize the process of euthanasia. And there’s no doubt that euthanasia will make great contributions to the society under a complete law system.。

On euthanasia

On euthanasia

On euthanasiaEuthanasia is a controversial issue around the world. With people increasing requirements of euthanasia , more and more countries and districts have made euthanasia legal. Different people hold different ideas about it and here the argument it is--Should euthanasia be allowed or not?Let us have a look first to the definition of euthanasia.Euthanasia refers to the practice of intentionally ending a life in order to relieve pain and suffering. From the definition we could learn that it is mainly used in people terminally ill, near death or in extreme pain. Many people suppose that those patients who are in such pain should be granted a better way to death instead of being suffered all the time without any hope. There are three points to support the argument. Firstly, as the most famous psychiatrist Norman Cousins says, ‘Death is not the greatest loss of life, but the living d eath’, people who show a little mercy on others in pain may understand the use of euthanasia. When you see those patients with incurable disease lying on the bed are inserted oxygen lines and varies machines in their bodies, will you turn your back upon the request of euthanasia? Euthanasia can help patients relieve their pains so why not be allowed? Secondly, if we insisted in cure, the result of itwould not be so satisfied to some extent. For example, children who suffered from polio~~~(各种后遗症,但这个例子仿佛不太恰当的样子orz)And also, 有些人会将其与人权划勾,但当一个人无法拥有意识,连生和死都决定不了,何来权力?(翻译无能orz)Others hold the opinion that euthanasia should be banned like the majority of countries do. It is reasonable to have such an appeal. Some people against the euthanasia because lives are so valuable that we do not have any right to end other lives at random. As an old saying goes, ‘a living dog is better than a dead lion’. Life is full of opportunities and possibilities, and all we should do is to keep it and never give it up. After all, to live is better than to die. Some people think the use of euthanasia is a kind of ‘murder’ which ends other lives in a subjective way. Although those patients who suffer from severe disease are painful, they may be still optimistic about their situation. It is one-sided and unfair to end others’lives as a bystander. What’s more, since euthanasia is not legalized that is not easy to get, which means it contains enormous business opportunities for the wrong crowd, some patients only buy it through illegal channels, resulting in a series of illegal profit chain. From my perspective, I。

It involves the deliberate ending of a person's life to relieve them from suffering, especially when they are terminally ill. Many argue that it is a compassionate act, while others believe it goes against the sanctity of life. The ethical and moral implications of euthanasia are complex and deeply divisive. On one hand, proponents argue that individuals should have the right to die with dignity and without prolonged suffering. They believe that it is a compassionate and humane way to end the pain and agony of those who are terminally ill. On the other hand, opponents argue that euthanasia devalues human life and opens the door to potential abuse and exploitation, especially for vulnerable individuals.Religious beliefs also play a significant role inshaping people's views on euthanasia. Many religious traditions consider euthanasia to be a sin and a violation of the divine order. They believe that only a higher power has the authority to determine the length of a person's life, and that deliberately ending it is morally wrong.Legalizing euthanasia is another contentious issue. While some countries have legalized certain forms of euthanasia under strict regulations, others consider it a criminal act. The legal and regulatory framework surrounding euthanasia varies widely across different jurisdictions, adding another layer of complexity to the debate. The emotional and psychological impact of euthanasia on family members and loved ones cannot be overlooked. The decision to end a person's life is deeply personal and can have far-reaching consequences for those left behind. It can create feelings of guilt, grief, and moral conflict, further complicating an already sensitive and divisive issue. In conclusion, euthanasia is a deeply polarizing topic that raises profound questions about the value of life, individual autonomy, and the role of medical professionals. The debate surrounding euthanasia is unlikely to be resolved any time soon, as it touches on fundamental ethical, moral, and legal principles. It is a complex and multifaceted issue that demands careful consideration and empathy for all those involved.。

Euthanasia, often referred to as "mercy killing," is a contentious issue that has sparked vigorous debate across the globe. While some argue that it is a compassionate choice for the terminally ill, others firmly believe that it is morally and ethically wrong. This essay will explore the reasons why euthanasia should be opposed.Firstly, the sanctity of life is a fundamental principle that underpins many ethical and religious beliefs. Life is considered precious and inviolable, and the intentional ending of a life, even with consent, can be seen as a violation of this principle. The belief that every life has inherent value, regardless of its quality or the suffering it may entail, is a cornerstone argument against euthanasia.Secondly, the potential for abuse within the practice of euthanasia is a significant concern. If euthanasia were to be legalized, there is a risk that it could be used as a means to eliminate the weak, the elderly, or those with disabilities. This could lead to a dangerous slippery slope where the lives of certain individuals are devalued based on societal perceptions of their worth.Thirdly, the medical profession is built on the foundational oath of "do no harm." Allowing doctors to perform euthanasia would fundamentally alter this role, potentially eroding the trust between patients and healthcare providers. Doctorsshould be focused on providing care and comfort, not on ending lives. Moreover, the emotional and psychological impact on families and healthcare workers involved in euthanasia cannot be overlooked. The act of assisting in a death, even if it is perceived as an act of mercy, can lead to profound feelings of guilt, grief, and depression.Additionally, the advancement in palliative care provides alternatives to euthanasia. Palliative care aims to relieve the suffering of patients with terminal illnesses without hastening death. It offers a compassionate approach that respects the dignity and autonomy of the patient while providing comfort and support.Lastly, the debate around euthanasia often overlooks the resilience and strength of the human spirit. Many people, when faced with terminal illness, find new meaning and purpose in life. The right to die must be weighed against the potential for a meaningful existence, no matter how limited it may be.In conclusion, while the issue of euthanasia is complex and deeply personal, the arguments against it are compelling. The respect for the sanctity of life, the potential for abuse, the impact on medical ethics, the emotional toll on those involved, and the availability of palliative care all contribute to a strong case against the practice of euthanasia. It is essential to continue seeking ways toalleviate suffering without compromising the fundamental respect for life.。

Okay, here's an essay on the legalization of euthanasia in a conversational and informal English style, while adhering to the requirements you mentioned:First things first, I gotta say, the topic ofeuthanasia is a real hot potato. Some people are all for it, saying it's a compassionate way to end suffering. Butothers are totally against it, arguing that it's unethical and goes against the natural order of life.I mean, imagine being terminally ill, in constant pain, and knowing there's no hope for recovery. Wouldn't it be a relief to have the option to peacefully end your days? Sure, there's the whole debate about the sanctity of life and the value of every moment, but sometimes, quality of life outweighs quantity.Of course, we gotta be careful. There have been cases where people were pressured or coerced into euthanasia, which is a huge concern. So, if it were to be legalized, there'd need to be strict guidelines and oversight to ensure it's done only with the full consent of the person involved and with no undue influence. On the flip side, there's also the argument that euthanasia could lead to a slippery slope, where we start seeing the elderly or disabled as a burden. But I don't think that's necessarily true. It's all about having aclear and compassionate framework that respects individual autonomy and choice. At the end of the day, it's a deeply personal decision.。

Euthanasia, also known as assisted suicide or mercy killing, is a highly controversial topic that has sparked intense debates worldwide. It refers to the act of intentionally ending a person's life to relieve their suffering from a terminal illness or unbearable pain. While some argue that euthanasia should be legalized to provide a compassionate option for those in pain, others believe it goes against the sanctity of life. This essay will explore the reasons behind euthanasia and present different perspectives on this complex issue. One of the primary reasons for supporting euthanasia is to alleviate the suffering of patients who are terminallyill or experiencing immense pain. In some cases, individuals may be diagnosed with diseases that have no cure or treatments that only prolong their suffering. For these patients, euthanasia can be seen as a humane choice to end their pain and allow them to die with dignity. It is argued that it is more compassionate to grant them theautonomy to decide when and how they want to die, rather than forcing them to endure a life of agony.Another reason for supporting euthanasia is the principle of personal autonomy. Advocates argue that individuals should have the right to decide what happens to their own bodies, including the choice of when to end their lives. They believe that each person should have the freedom to make decisions about their own lives, especially when faced with unbearable pain or a terminal illness. By legalizing euthanasia, individuals can exercise their autonomy and have control over their own deaths. Moreover, legalizing euthanasia would provide a legal framework to regulate and monitor the practice. Currently, euthanasia is often performed in secret or under questionable circumstances. By legalizing it, governments can establish strict guidelines and procedures to ensure that euthanasia is carried out ethically and without any abuse. This would protect vulnerable individuals from potential exploitation and ensure that the decision to end one's life is made after careful consideration andconsultation with medical professionals. On the other hand, opponents of euthanasia argue that it violates the sanctity of life. They believe that life is inherently valuable and that intentionally ending it, regardless of the circumstances, is morally wrong. They argue that society should focus on improving palliative care and pain management to provide comfort and support to those who are suffering, rather than resorting to euthanasia as a solution.Another concern raised by opponents is the potentialfor abuse and the slippery slope argument. They argue that once euthanasia is legalized, it may be extended to individuals who are not terminally ill or experiencing unbearable pain. This could lead to a devaluation of human life and the potential for involuntary euthanasia, where individuals are euthanized without their consent or against their will. Opponents fear that legalizing euthanasia may open the door to a dangerous precedent that undermines the value and sanctity of life.In conclusion, euthanasia remains a highly contentious issue with valid arguments on both sides. Supporters argue that it provides a compassionate option for those in pain and respects personal autonomy, while opponents emphasize the sanctity of life and the potential for abuse. As society continues to grapple with this complex issue, it is crucial to consider the ethical, moral, and legal implications of euthanasia to ensure that any decisions made prioritize the well-being and dignity of individuals facing unbearable suffering.。

I believe that euthanasia should be a personal choice. It's about having the freedom to decide when and how we want to end our lives. It's not about giving up, it's about taking control.Life is precious, but sometimes it's filled with unbearable pain and suffering. In those situations, I think it's only fair for someone to have the option to end their life peacefully and on their own terms.I understand that some people may have religious or moral objections to euthanasia, but I believe that everyone should have the right to make their own decisions about their own bodies and lives.I think it's important to have safeguards in place to prevent abuse of euthanasia, but ultimately, the decision should be left up to the individual who is suffering.I don't see euthanasia as giving up, I see it as a way for someone to have a dignified and painless end to their suffering. It's about compassion and empathy for those who are facing unbearable pain.In the end, I believe that euthanasia should be legalized and regulated to ensure that it is only used in the most extreme cases of suffering. It's about giving people the choice and the control over their own lives.。

Should Euthanasia Be Legalize 1Euthanasia, a quiet and easy death, or “mercy killing” as we call it recently has made theheadlines frequently. Many people applaud it and argue that euthanasia should be legalized. As is pointed out, to practise euthanasia can benefit both the patient and his family. To aterminally ill person who is suffering excruciating pains day and night or living “like a vegetable”, to be allowed to end his life painlessly is a good release. To his family it is also a big relief considering the financial and emotional drain on them that having to sustain his lifeentails. However, the legalization of euthanasia may also bring with it problems our society has not previously faced. Is it humane, for example, that a terminally ill patient is thus caused to feelguilty for remaining alive because he does not want to die? Is it wise that a patient is killed alive simply because of a mistaken terminal diagnosis? And is it possible that euthanasia could be taken advantage of for some ulterior or even criminal purposes?Since the legalization of euthanasia will raise serious moral and social issues, the decision our society makes about euthanasia will undoubtedlyhave tremendous consequences in society.。

Euthanasia, also known as assisted suicide, is a controversial topic that has been debated for decades. Some people believe that it is a humane way to end the suffering of those with terminal illnesses, while others argue that it goes against the value of human life. In my opinion, euthanasia should be legalized in certain circumstances.Firstly, euthanasia can end the unbearable pain and suffering of patients who are terminally ill or in a vegetative state. These patients often have no hope of recovery and are only being kept alive by machines or medication. It is cruel to force them to continue living in agony when there is no chance of improvement. By allowing them to choose to end their own lives with the assistance of a medical professional, we can provide them with a peaceful and dignified death.Secondly, legalizing euthanasia can help to reduce healthcare costs. Patients who are terminally ill or in avegetative state require extensive medical care, which can be very expensive. By allowing them to choose euthanasia, we can reduce the amount of money spent on their care and allocate those resources to other patients who have a chance of recovery. However, there are also valid concerns about the legalization of euthanasia. One of the main arguments against it is that it could be abused by caregivers or family members who may pressure patients into choosing euthanasia in order to save money or avoid the burden of caring for them. To prevent this, strict regulations and guidelines would need to be put in place to ensure that patients are making a voluntary and informed decision. In conclusion, while euthanasia is a complex issue with valid arguments on both sides, I believe that it should be legalized in certain circumstances. It is a humane way to end the suffering of those with terminal illnesses and can also help to reduce healthcare costs. However, it is important to ensure that strict regulations are in place toprevent abuse and ensure that patients are making a voluntary and informed decision.。

Euthanasia, a quiet and easy death,or “mercy killing” as we call it recently has made the headlines frequently。

Many people applaud it and argue that euthanasia should be legalized。

As is pointed out, to practise euthanasia can benefit both the patient and his family。

To a terminally ill person who is suffering excruciating pains day and night or living “like a vegetable”,to be allowed to end his life painlessly is a good release。

To his family it is also a big relief considering the financial and emotional drain on them that having to sustain his life entails。

However, the legalization of euthanasia may also bring with it problems our society has not previously faced。

Is it humane, for example, that a terminally ill patient is thus caused to feel guilty for remaining alive because he does not want to die? Is it wise that a
patient is killed alive simply because of a mistaken terminal diagnosis? And is it possible that euthanasia could be taken advantage of for some ulterior or even criminal purposes?
Since the legalization of euthanasia will raise serious moral and social issues, the decision our society makes about euthanasia will undoubtedly have tremendous consequences in society。
