Unit 6
一、单元语法
本单元的重点是状语从句,注意区别由when, while, till, until, since和before引导的时间状语从句及其用法。
1.基本构成形式:
时间状语从句通常是由when, while, before, after, as, since, till, until, as soon as 等从属连词引导。时间状语从句可以放在句首,也可以放在句尾。
2.表达意义:
时间状语从句的作用是用一个句子(从句)来作另一个句子(主句)的时间状语,表示主句中谓语动作发生的时间。
(1)由when引导时间状语从句时,从句用于表示主句动作发生的特定时间,从句中谓语动词为瞬间动作动词。若为延续性动词时,用while来引导。例如:The days get longer when spring comes.春天到来时,白天变得更长了。
Please send her my regards while you meet her.你见到她时,请代我问候她。(2)由before引导时间状语从句时,表示主句动作发生在从句动作之前。例如:
Close the door before you leave the room.离开房间前关上门。
(3)由until、till引导的时间状语从句。当主句谓语动词是延续性动词时,主句常用肯定形式;当主句谓语动词是非延续性动词时,主句要用否定形式,即not ... until / till ...(直到…才…)。till更多用于口语中。例如:
I’ll wait here until / till he comes back.我将在这里等着,直到他回来。
You can’t go home until / till you finish your work.直到你完成你的工作,你才能回家。
(4)由since引导的时间状语从句,since从句中要用一般过去时,主句中要用现在完成时。例如:
It has been three years since I last saw him.从我最后一次见他到现在已经三年了。
