Math is a basic subject of many fields. However, it is also very difficult. To be a good learner in math , he should calm down and concentrate on the math problem. Second, cooperation is also very important. He can found a math team. During the learning process, they can help each other to get better results. Third, he may learn some other subject as well if he get free time. Math is basic subject and it can be applied to many other areas. If people dress according to the latest fashion random, they may look strange and abrupt.12.Currently, air pollution is a serious problem. People tend to judge others by first impression. People will pay attention to detail to support 证实first impression，而自动忽略一些与第一印象不符的事实。
Once it is formed，the impression can hardly be changed。

刚毕业的时候，他在一个实验室当research assistant。
第一周，他提了一个really helpful idea to改进实验experiment。

所以，他的boss老板对她评价很低。
认为她ureliable and incompetent，即便之后她后来的表现非常好。
过了一段时间，这个教授经常犯错误，而那个女同事只是偶犯小错，做research比他好。
即便如此，boss还是认为她unreliable。
[北美2007.3.24/2008.6.22] 6【课文要点】：讲Diffusion of responsibility（责任扩散理论）。
就是说人们帮助别的人要看情况depends on，决定要不要在紧急emergency时候伸出援手，第一，其他旁观者多不多how many observers there are，如人很多，那每个人都会觉得别人会帮他，觉得自己没那责任，降低帮助欲望More observers bring about less self responsibility。
第二，是否旁观者中有人比自己更有能力，这样这人就会觉得，让另一个人去帮就好了，降低帮助欲望。
【教授举例】：在高速公路上开车，如果是中午开车，你看到有车子出问题了，你可能不会停下来帮忙，因为你会想别人也会来帮她的，警察也会看到的。
反之，如果是清晨在高公上空荡荡，你就会觉得自己身怀重任，应该帮他。
[2006.10.15] 7【课文要点】：讲role distancing（角色疏离）的定义。
在现实生活中，有的时候，每个人都有自己的角色，当需要扮演的角色不是自己所希望扮演的时，就会产生role distancing。
人们觉得要背离一下固定的社会角色。
role distancing有两种表现方式：一个是说话的语气，一个是行动。
【教授举例】：一个13岁男孩正在家里跟同学玩呢，他妈突然叫他去洗碗dishes。
他觉得mother这样说让他在朋友面前很没面子。
他非常不愿意，但又不敢拒绝。
他可能会想小小地背离一下他作为儿子的角色。
他会用一些间接方式表示抗议，二是说话的语气：用怪异的语气回答。
一种是行为：比如向他的妈妈做鬼脸make face、很慢地走向厨房、在洗碗时故意放慢速度。
这就是distance (远离)自己在家中的role。
