For example, when I was learning Spanish, I found that it opened up a whole new world of literature, music, and art that I had never been exposed to before. I also had the opportunity to travel to Spanish-speaking countries and communicate with locals in their native language, which allowed me to form deeper connections and gain a better understanding of their way of life.

Describe a place that you have been to that has a lot of water. You should say:where this place iswhat people do at this placewhy (& when) you went thereand explain whether you like this place or not.My hometown is famous for springs. In the centre of our city, there are a group of springs located together. They all flow into one lower pool. People name it Black Tiger Spring. It has become a symbol for my city and attracted crowds of local citizens and tourists.Summer is the best time to visit the spring, especially on a hot day, because spring water makes theair cool down, plus there are trees providing shelters. All these have contributed to the popularity of this place. People living nearby like to come to fetch spring water. It’s also a paradise for fishing lovers. Old men could spend a whole morning there fishing. They seem to enjoy themselves a lot. At weekends, English learners come and get together to have English corner. Calligraphy lovers practice writing characters on the ground with a huge brush pen and spring water as ink.A few decades ago, there were even more springs flowing. For one time, the rapid developing industries consumed a lot of water. Some springs therefore become dry. However, in recent years, the local government has been working on reconstructing the city’s underground water system to make dried springs flow again. They did a good job. Springs now come back into our life.I was there last July. It rained slightly that day, which made the trip kind of romantic, as you could see rain needles dipping into the water surface. I walked along the pool, feeling so peaceful in mind. I like the place, and I will go there again.Part 3Water UsageDo you think people use more water today than they did before (e.g., 20 or 50 years ago)?I think so. First of all, industry is the largest user of water. We are now having more industries. Industry requires a great amount of water. So, more water is being used. The second largest user of water is domestic use. People use more, drink more, and most sadly, waste more.Do you think it’s important to try to save (conserve) water? (Why?)It is of vital importance for human beings to save water. We need water – our lives depend on it. We all know that the world’s population is getting larger day by day. More water is being consumed. At the same time, there are many places on this world where people are suffering from lack of drinking water. Water is a precious resource. It is urgent to save water from being wasted. How can people save water?Water conservation has two aspects: one, use water efficiently so that there is enough for the needsof all living things; two, keep freshwater clean, so that it can continue to support life on Earth. As an ordinary citizen, I appreciate what my family does in saving water. We reuse used water. It’s simple. I’ve always believed that if every family devotes its own effort, water saving will no longer be a mission impossible.。

For example, woman who are doing exactly the same job as men, are getting smaller salaries. Secondly, women are not considered for certain high level positions, like for example, in government. In addition, in many communities in China, women are still regarded as inferior to men. This is particularly the case in the rural communities. Lastly, parents prefer to have a boy as opposed to a girl. This is an unhealthy situation, as it will disturb the balance between the number of men and women in China in the years to come.53.What are the causes of sex discrimination ( 5 - 8 )One of the main reasons regarding this topic that I would like to highlight is the fact that men often determine the wages in the companies. Secondly, women are not seen as able to do certain jobs as well as men. For instance, construction work has always been seen as a man s job. Lastly, many men still believe that a woman should slay at home, raise the kids, and be of service to her husband.53.What are the causes of sex discrimination ( 7 - 8 )That's an interesting question. Allow me to explain myself by shortly mentioning the following points: Firstly. I believe (hat discrimination against woman have deep roots in societies all over the world. In other words, it is not a present day phenomenon. Throughout history woman have not enjoyed the same status as men. It is only recently that woman have been filling the same positions in the work place. Lastly, I believe that it will take much more time to eradicate this practice. For example, as more and more woman become the sole breadwinners in families, they will have to be compensated as such irrespective of their sex.54.Should housewives be paid a salary by the government Why (5-8)Yes.

The English lesson that left me a deep impression( 让我印象深刻)was taught by my junior high-school teacher, Miss Wang. One day she came into the class with a bag of things in her hand. I was curious about what they were and Miss wang said “it’s a surprise!” That really made me more interested. Later she told the class that we were going to learn how to order meals in English. First she showed pictures of tasty food and played a video of a person ordering steak. From the video, I learned lots of natural expressions (自然的表达), and even better, I got to know some western table manners, like you have to put your napkin on your lap before you eat the steak, and place fork in your left hand and hold the knife in your right hand. The best part was that we had a role-playing game. My teacher Miss wang first divided the class into pairs, gave us some food as realia (课堂教具), and provided some sentences and dialogues for us to practice. Everything went on smoothly and effectively. It was definitely one of the best English lessons I’ve ever had. I have had many English lessons throughout my academic years, and the most impressive one was taught by my junior high-school English teacher, .. It was a Friday morning; she came into the class, holding her teaching materials and carrying a huge bag of things. When wondering what they were, I was told that it’s gonna be a surprise for the class. Thatreally held my attention (让我兴致盎然).Shortly afterwards, she said to the class“today, we are going to learn how to order a menu in english” On hearing that,I was like “wow, is she going to treat us to some delicacies(请我们吃美味佳肴)? That would be amazing!” Then basically, she showed some pictures of tantalizing food on her power-point, and engaged students to discuss what they prefer to eat and why. Every one looked so intrigued and was eager to talk. In a while she played a video of a person ordering a menu in a steak house. Through watching that clip(片段), not only did I learn some authentic restaurant vocabulary and expressions (地道的用餐词汇和表达), but also I got aware ofwesterndining etiquette(西方用餐礼仪). I have to say that lesson was really well-planned(细心设计的). But that’s not all. What fascinated me most was the food she brought to the class. Believe it or not, those things in the bag were mini steaks! Hardly can you imagine how much she must have spent on them. The final activity was arole-playing game: students working in pairs, one plays the role of a waiter and the other a customer. I was lucky enough to the customer and try the steak. It was like a taste of heaven(太美味了!), so tender and fresh. All in all, this lesson was definitely something unforgettable. It was about English, but also about culture and communication. Totally student-focused(以同学为中心)! Sleeping1. How many hours do you sleep every day?2. Is it necessary to sleep enough?3. ① What the law is? Tips: Policy is a kind of law in the West, but breaking this law would be called a "misdemeanor" (a minor crime) instead of felony. For the purposes of the Speaking test, I think it would be suitable to use the "One Child Policy" as an example of a "law" because examiners would not know the difference!

Secondly, I would like to mention Beiling Park. It consists of a large park, with many gardens and a lake. In addition it also is the site of an emperor’s tomb from the Qing Dynasty.
