Teaching procedures Step1: Lead-in
1. Let Ss enjoy the song Heal the World.
T: Where is it?
Where is it?
Do you love our school? Do you want to make our school
a better place?
2. Deal with the new words in this lesson. Then finish the exercise to master the new words.
Step2: Reading
Read the text together and loudly then answer the following questions.
1.What do students councils do?
2.What did they organize in December?
3.Is it always easy for them to reach an agreement? Why?
(After answering the questions, they can know about the main ideas of the test.)

A student council is a group of students that shares their ideas, interests and concerns with teachers and school principals. They raise funds for school-wide activities including social events, community projects and school reforms.
Step 3 Summary
How to make the school a better place according to the text?
Let the volunteers to show their ideas.
Step 4 Group Work :
1. Act and show
Show some pictures about ill behaves in the school and a short video about bullying at school. Then let the students talk about what they can do to make school a better place.
Let several groups show.
2.Have a discussion
*What should we work together towards peace in the school?
*What should we work together towards peace in the world?
Step 5 Exercise
Lead the students to do the exercises on the screen.
Step 6 Homework
1. Make a poster about how to make school or world a better place. Then have a competition to check who is the best.
