教学过程
Step 1 Greetings
Greet the students as usual.
Step 2 Look and say
Prepare some pictures on the screen and then lead in the Past progressive.
Talk about what the people were doing at the time of the rainstorm.
Ss say out what he/she is doing.Practice in different ways.
First,Teacher ask and students answer.
Then,Ss ask and answer in pairs
Step 3 1a
Where were the people at the time of the rainstorm?
Ask the Ss to look through the pictures and match the statements with the people in the picture.
Check the answers together.
Step 4 1b Listening
Listen to the TV report and circle the correct responses.
Play the listening and ask the students to circle the right answer according to what they have listened.
Check the answers
Step 5 2a Listening
What happened to the boy? Listen and number the pictures.
Check the answers
Step 6 2b Listening
Listen again. Fill in the blanks in the sentences.
Step 7 2c Retell the story
Use the information in 2a to retell the story in a conversation between the boy and a TV reporter.
Step 8 learn and remember the phrases what we have learned above.
Let the students say out the phrases and the remember by themselves.
Step 9 2d learn and study the conversation in 2d
Read the conversation in 2d and answer the questions.
1. What was Linda doing at seven last night?
2. What was Linda doing at eight last night?
3. What was Linda doing at nine last night?
4. Why did Mary call Linda last night?
Step 10 点拨运用
1. My alarm didn’t go off so I woke up late.
go off 意为“(闹钟)发出响声,离开”

课后反思
通过这堂课的教学,发现学生对过去进行时能及时理解,但还不能根据语言交际的实际语境灵活的使用。

在今后的课堂教学中我们还要多多设置情境,让学生们在亲身的体验中提升对过去进行的理解与运用。
