The local people love to eat seafood and have developed many ways to cook it, such as steaming, boiling, frying,
grilling, and stewing. There are also many seafood restaurants and markets in Zhanjiang, where you can taste and buy the best seafood at a reasonable price.
Secondly, Zhanjiang is blessed with natural scenery. The city has many parks, gardens, and beaches, which are ideal places for leisure and entertainment. For example, the West Lake Park is a famous scenic spot in Zhanjiang, with a beautiful lake, a hill, a pagoda, and many pavilions and bridges. The Beibu Gulf Square is a modern waterfront plaza, where you can enjoy the sea breeze, the sunset, and the night view of the city. The Hailing Island is a popular tourist destination, with a long beach, clear water, and many resorts and activities.
Thirdly, Zhanjiang has a diverse and vibrant culture. The city has a long history of more than 2000 years, and has been influenced by many ethnic groups and religions. The local people have their own dialect, cuisine, music, dance, and festivals, which reflect the unique charm of Zhanjiang. For example, the Dragon Boat Festival is a traditional holiday in Zhanjiang, where people race dragon
boats, eat zongzi (sticky rice dumplings), and drink realgar wine. The Chaoshan Opera is a local art form in Zhanjiang, which combines singing, acting, and acrobatics, and has a distinct style and repertoire.
