Ye Xiaogang, _w_h_o_ was born in _1_9_5_5_, is one of a group of Chinese _c_o_m_p_o_s_e_r_ known as the _N_e_w__T_i_d_e. From 1978 till 1983, He s_t_u_d_ie_d_at the Central Conservatory of Music of China. In 1985, there was _c_o_n_c_e_rt_ of Ye Xiaogang's symphonies in Beijing. In 1986, his _a_lb_u_m___ Horizon appeared and he is famous for _m_i_x_in_g__Chinese musical traditions with western forms and instrumentation. Besides, he is a _m__e_m_b_e_r_of Eclipse, perhaps the __fi_r_st__ independent music group in China which plays works by modern Chinese composers. Since 1993, he has worked _p_a_r_t_of the time in Beijing and in the US.
