As we all know, high power distance teaches the members that people are not qual in the world and every one has a rightful place. In my opinion, America stands for this notions. The reasons are as follows.
Up to now, COVID-19 in the United States has received two "the world's most": the most confirmed cases, the largest number of deaths. The negative impact of the virus on the global economy and social life is continuing, and for the middle and low income groups in the United States, the social welfare and security disparity, income gap and racial discrimination in the United States are showing more and more of their impact on the new crown virus.
According to the Washington Post, in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, blacks account for 26% of the population, while about 70% of the infected deaths are black. In Louisiana, blacks account for 32% of the population and 70% of the deaths. The black people in the United States do not have insurance, and the communities in which they live do not have adequate medical services. The proportion of patients with chronic diseases such as asthma, hypertension, diabetes, lung disease and heart disease is even higher.
According to the U.S. Bureau of labor statistics, the average annual income of U.S. households before tax was $78635. After paying taxes and the necessary expenses for housing, food, transportation and health care, the rest of the year was only $6017. With the support of credit cards and other financial credit, the savings of low and middle-income families in the United States have decreased year by year. The problem of social income inequality in the United States has been increasing in recent decades. From 1997 to 2007, the real income of the top 1% increased by 275%, while that of the bottom 20% only increased by 18%. There are many reasons for social income inequality in the United States. With the continuous improvement of manufacturing productivity, the demand for labor has declined, wages have declined, and the unemployment rate has also increased. The second is technological change. The development of high technology has increased the demand for skilled workers, but it has also replaced many non-technical jobs with machines, which has led to the "polarization" of the American labor force. For the lower 20% of white people, only 10.6% of their children can get into the top 20%. Class consolidation is further widening income inequality in American society.
Low power distance

As we all know, China always put people’s life in first order, while America’s not. Long-term orientation stands for the fostering of virtue oriented toward future rewards. In the face of COVID-19, China saw the future developing of China and cherished the interest of people. However, short-term orientation highlights fostering of virtues related to the past and the present. Just like America, they only consider the immediate interests.
