专题限时集训(一)阅读理解训练1细节理解题(Ⅰ)(对应学生用书第135页)A【导学号:38144021】(2017·浙江名校联盟联考二)The word“social”means relating to society or its organization. The special type of science that studies how human beings interact (互动) with each other is called “sociology”.Sociologists have looked closely at mankind's desire to be part of different groups and call this“group behavior”.Sociologists believe that group behavior began in mankind a long time ago when man was more primitive.Back then, people did not have big homes made of concrete or brick to protect them from dangerous animals.People slept in caves and were out in the open during the day a lot more. They would look all around for food so that the species could continue living. As time went on,people began to see the benefits of being part of a group. They could find more food and would be able to more effectively battle dangerous animals.Bigger quantities of food and a better sense of safety helped humans survive and prosper.Group behavior also includes the creation of “norms”and “values”.Norms are examples of what a group normally does over a period of time.Members of a group might all wake up at the same time and begin to carry out their various duties during the day,and repeat those same activities day after day.Values are a summary of what the group's goals might be or a general idea of what is acceptable behavior. Some groups might strongly believe in honesty and dislike thefts. There are actually some negative things that can come along with group behavior. From time to time,if a person is not accepted within a group,he might feel rejected and saddened.Other times,a group might find itself fighting a “common enemy”,another group that is disliked as a whole because it may have different norms or values.Group behavior also makes it more likely that all of the members of a group will believe something just because one member says so,even if it is not true orfavorable.【语篇解读】本文是一篇说明文,阐述了社会群体行为(group behavior)的形成以及它带来的正面和负面影响。

(2017·11浙江)A Vacation with My MotherI had an interesting childhood. It was filled with surprise and amusements, all because of my mother—loving, sweet, yet absent-minded and forgetful. One strange family trip we took when I was eleven tells a lot about her.My two sets of grandparents lived in Colorado and North Dakota, and my parents decided to spend a few weeks driving to those states and seeing all the sights along the way.As the first day of our trip approached,David,my eight-year-old brother, and I unwillingly said good-bye to all of our friends.Who knew if we’d ever see them again? Finally, the moment of our departure arrived, and we loadedsuitcases, books, games, camping equipment, and a tent into the car and bravely drove off.We bravely drove off again two hours later after we’d returned home to get the purse and traveler’s checks Mom had forgotten.David and I were always a little nervous when using gas station bathrooms if Mom was driving while Dad slept:“You stan d outside the door and play lookout(放哨) while I go,and I’ll stand outside the door and play lookout while you go.” I had terrible pictures in my mind: “Honey, where are the kids?” “What?! Oh,Gosh...I thought they were being awfully quiet.” We were never act ually left behind in a strange city, but we weren’t about to take any chances. On the fourth or fifth night,we had trouble finding a hotel with a vacancy. After driving in vain for some time,Mom suddenly got a great idea:Why didn’t we find a house with a likely-looking backyard and ask if we could set up tent there?David and I became nervous. To our great relief,Dad turned down the idea.Mom never could understand our objections(反对).If a strange family showed up on her frontdoorstep,Mom would have been delighted. She thinks everyone in the world as as nice as she is.We finally found a vacancy in the next town.注意:1.所续写短文的词数应为150左右;2.至少使用5个短文中标有下划线的关键词语;3.续写部分分为两段,每段的开头语已为你写好;4.续写完成后,请用下划线标出你所使用的关键词语。

Instead of pencils and light tables, in the 3, 500-square-foot innovation center, StudioLAB, visitors find experimental virtual (虚拟的)reality editing equipment, drones(无人遥控飞机)and digital projections around walls. The purpose of the lab is to use Silicon Valley-style experimentation to help studio executives and filmmakers stay ahead of rapid advances in technology by developing and showcasing new ideas for making and marketing movies.Studio technology centers are hardly a new idea. 20th Century Fox, for example, founded its own Fox Innovation Lab in 2014, and Sony Pictures in June, 2018, announced its Innovation Studios project in Culver City. "We needed to push our own industry forward, " said Jamie Voris, the Studios' chief technology officer. "By pulling together, we can solve these big and complex problems."StudioLAB also wants to improve the filmmaking process itself. It released a piece of software called Scout-in-a-Box that uses drones to view and digit ally re-create filming locations. It used videoconferencing technology so that workers at the lab were able to see and interact with the actors and crew remotely and get a detailed sense of the filming process.Disney also wants the lab to address major long-term challenge. For example, the lab is working on ways to improve data security in a cheaper and more efficient way. Although some of the ideas remain in early stages, Benjamin Havey, vice president of Disney's Technology Innovation Group, is convinced that more of the lab's experiments will find practical uses. AJoseph Goldberger was a doctor for the United States Public Health Service and he was an advocate for scientific and social recognition of the links between poverty and disease. In 1914, Goldberger was asked by US Surgeon General Rupert Blue to study a skin disease that was killing thousands of people in the South. The disease was pellagra (糙皮病).Goldberger traveled to the state of Mississippi where many people suffered from pellagra. He studied the victims and their families. Most of the people lived a hard life. The doctor came to believe that the disease didn't pass on from one to another, but was instead related to food. He received permission from the state governor to test this idea at a prison. Prisoners were offered pardons if they took part. One group of prisoners received their usual foods, mostly corn products. A second group ate meat, fresh vegetables and drank milk.Members of the first group developed pellagra. The second group did not.But some medical researchers refused to accept Goldberger's idea. For the South, pellagra was more than simply a medical problem. There were other things, including Southern pride. So Goldberger had himself injected (注射) with blood from a person with pellagra. He also took liquid from the nose and throat of a pellagra patient and put them into his own nose and throat. He even swallowed pills that contained skin from pellagra patients. An assistant also took part in the experiments. So did Goldberger's wife. None of them got sick.Joseph Goldberger died of cancer in 1929. He was fifty-five years old. Several years later, researchers discovered the exact cause of pellagra: a lack of vitamin B3 known as niacin.语篇解读:本文是一篇记叙文。

I decided what kind of college I wanted to attend ﹣ one that was small, personal and would foster my enthusiasm and interests. I searched through many resources until I found the one for me: Endicott Junior College, then a women﹣only college in Beverly, Massachusetts. When I visited Endicott, it felt like home, and my choice was made. It was the only college Ivisited, applied to, and was interviewed by.I was accepted into Endicott for the fall term and immediately knew it was the right school for me. After studying subjects ranging from English to early childhood education to psychology and art, I graduated with an associate degree in advertising. Then I went to one of the state universities. Picture this: Your boss asks you to make a last﹣second trip to a city a few hundredmiles away for a meeting tomorrow morning. So how do you get there? You could take an early﹣morning regional flight, but frequent delays on small carriers might mean you risk missing your meeting and spending more time in the airport than in the air. You could spend a few hundred bucks on a train ticket, but don't expect to get much sleep ahead of your meeting. You could also drive your own car, but that means traffic jams and a tiring night on the road.Tom Currier calls it the "500﹣mile problem" and now, the Silicon Valley entrepreneur and his partner, Gaetano Crupi, say they have a solution. It's called n "Cabin" ﹣a double﹣decker(双层公共汽车), luxury bus line with Wi﹣Fi, a cozy waiting room and sleeping rooms that offer the comfortable pressed sheets.Cabin began making overnight trips between Los Angeles and San Francisco last month. There is nothing particularly creative about packing people into a bus and moving them from one place to another after dark. But Currier argues that the company's stress on providing passengers with a good night's sleep separates Cabin from other forms of transportation. He says it allows the company to profit from the Silicon Valley's belief that a growing number of people will jump at any convenient opportunity to avoid driving as society begins to consider autonomous modes of transportation. He compares the overnight bus ride to " teleportation(远距传输)". "We're taking these 300 ﹣ 500miles' trips and turning them into an experience where you're basically checking into a hotel in one city and then checking out of the hotel in another city, " Currier says. This week, a mammoth(猛犸象)possibly killed by humans 10, 000 to 15, 000 years ago was found in soy fields about 50 miles west of Detroit. It was found by farmer James Bristle and his neighbor Trent Satterthwaite, who were reportedly digging in the fields. " Then theysped up the dig. After finding the bones on Monday night, Bristle called the University of Michigan on Tuesday morning to report his find. It was hunted by humans, he said, who killed it and stored the remains in a pond as a way of preserving the meat for future use. " It's still too early to tell exactly how it died, " Fisher told Detroit's WWJ﹣TV, "but the skeleton(骨架)shows signs of.human's butchering. ''The bones are being temporarily stored nearby, according to the Detroit Free Press, and it remains unclear where they'll eventually end up. Want to know how to survive a plane crash? What about a terrorist attack? To put your mind at ease in nearly any situation, you can almost guarantee your survival if you never leave the house without 3 necessary items,i.e.a lighter(打火机),alifestraw(救命吸管) and a raincoat.Right off the place full of danger, your first instinct(本能) might be to search for help the minute you realize you’re in tro uble. But survival experts insist you should stay where you are until help finds you, instead;doing so will make it easier for the search and rescue teams to locate your location. What should you do until then, you ask?Prepare to hunker down(盘腿坐下) for the long run. That’s where your three pieces of survival necessities come intoplay,Stewart says. For one,you should have something to start a fire on you at all times.Fire-starting tools are inexpensive to purchase, and you can easily carry them around in a backpack or pant pocket. But even without a fancy item, all you really need is something to light the first flame.“You can use cotton balls covered in petroleum jelly(凡士林油) as a fire starter,”Stewart told USA TODAY.“They are water resistant and will start a fire with just a spark.”Second, you’ll need something to make your drinking water fit to drink, such as a canteen(饭盒) that can boil water.Stewart recommends buying a $20 lifestraw, which “can be struck into the muddiest pool of water you can find and you suck the water out like a straw.” Any doubt? It could still save your life,Stewart says.注意:1.所续写短文的词数应为 150 左右;2.应使用5 个以上短文中标有下划线的关键词语;3.续写部分分为两段,每段的开头词或句子已为你写好;4.续写完成后,请用下划线标出你所使用的关键词语。

Some questions were easy, while others required deep thought and concentration. I pushed myself to think critically and to express my ideas clearly and concisely. Finally, the test was over. I knew that I had done my best, but I couldn't shake the feeling of uncertainty about how I had performed. In the days that followed, I couldn't stop thinking about the test. 浙江专用2018版高考英语二轮教师用书:第1部分 专题1 类型8 社会生活(含解析)

类型8| 社会生活(2017·浙江温州4月模拟)On Friday,March 13,28yearold Genovese was returning home from work.Approaching her apartment, she was attacked by a man.Though she repeatedly called for help, none of the people in the neighborhood helped. The attack began at 3:20 am,but it was not until 3:50 am that someone first called the police. This is a most typical example of the bystander effect in psychology. The term bystander effect refers to the phenomenon in which the greater the number of people present is,the less likely people are to help a person in need. Two major factors contribute to the bystander effect.First, the presence of other people creates diffusion (分散) of responsibility. With other observers around, individuals (个体) do not feel much pressure to take action, since the responsibility to take action is thought to be shared among those present. The second reason is the need to behave in correct and socially acceptable ways. When other observers fail to react, individuals often take this as a signal that a response is not needed.Researchers have found that onlookers are less likely to act if the situation is ambiguous, where things are often confusing and not so clear. So what can you do to avoid falling into this trap? Psychologists suggest that simply being aware of this tendency is the greatest way to break the cycle. When you face a situation that requires action, you should understand the bystander effect andconsciously(有意识地) take action. But what if you are the person in need of assistance? One often-recommended approach is to single out one person from the crowd.Make eye contact and ask that individual specifically for help.By individualizing your request,it becomes much harder for people to turn you down. 24.The story of Genovese is to show .A.the bystander effectB.the murderer's crueltyC.the neighbors' selfishnessD.the poor public security25.Onlookers fail to take action because the situation is .A.urgent B.dangerousC.tense D.vague26.What should you do when you need help from bystanders in an accident?A.Make a polite request.B.Turn to a specific person.C.Become aware of the tendency.D.Stay away from possible danger.语篇解读:本文是一篇说明文,主要介绍了旁观者效应。

第二节:概要写作
阅读下面短文,根据内容写一篇60词左右的内容概要。

Every year, especially during the spring and early summer, the lives of many young animals are disrupted.People may attempt to “save” these animals, and more often than not,the mother is nearby.
Young rabbits found at a nest site do not need to be rescued. The mother rabbit will not return as long as a person is standing near the nest site.If you’ve kicked to open a nest, just replace the top of the nest, and leave. The mother will return and care for the young.Cottontail rabbits leave their young for hours while eating, but they do return to nu rse the young, until the young are old enough to survive on their own.Young rabbits are ready to leave the nest at three to four weeks of age when
their eyes are open and their bodies are furry.
Young birds are sometimes found on the ground near a nest. When this happens, the best thing to do is to put the bird carefully back into the n est.Don’t worry about getting your scent on the bird;it will not affect the mother’s care.If you can’t reach the nest,l eave the bird on the ground.Every bird alive today has spent a few
precarious days on the ground while learning to fly.The best thing you can do during this time of year to protect young wildlife is to keep cats indoors.
When yo ung raccoons are found out alone,it is likely that they are merely exploring and their mot her is nearby. They are probably old enough to be fully capable of climbing back up a tree to their den.If they were too young to climb, the mother would carry t hem back.
If you find a young fawn laying alone, leave it there. The mother comes back several times each day to nurse the fawn.If you’ve already picked the fawn up and brought it home, put it back.Even one or two days after removal from the wild, fawns have been successfully reunited with their mothers,by returning them to the place where they were found.
