Unit 1 Every one will study at home
Teaching aims:
1. To understand conversations about future school.
2. To process information of future life in the listening material.
3. To talk about the prospect of one’s own school.

Step 1. Revision
Revise the words to describe what we have in the classroom.
Talk about them using We use…to study English.
Step 2. Warming-up
Group talks.
Get the students to talk about the things in our classroom.
Say, I use a pen and a dictionary to learn English.

Step 3. Presentation
Get the students to look at the pictures on the students’ books, read through the words, and make sure the students understand them all. Choose some of them to describe the classroom. Say, I use a computer to study English.

Work in pairs. According to the box, say,
I use an English book and a dictionary.

Step 5. Practice
Say: Everyone uses an English book.

Get the students to read through the sentences while listening to the tape.
Listen to it again; choose the true sentences for Daming, Betty and Tony.
Listen to the tape for the third time, check the answers.

1. To learn to use the new words and expressions.
2. To learn to use the will structure.
3. To get necessary information from the reading material.

Teaching procedures:
Step 1. Revision
Talk about what we are going to do this Sunday. Get the students to put sentences into a
new one using will do.
Step 2. Warming-up
Get a student to read his passage about his plan for this Sunday, ask and answer questions
about it.
Step 3. Presentation
Get the students to look at the pictures in Activity 1, talk about them and say,
What can we see on the picture?
Step 4. Listening
Listen to the tape while looking at the book. Then match each picture to one paragraph.
Read the passage again; match the picture and paragraphs with the heading in Activity 3.
Step 5. Let’s talk
Get the students to talk about each heading, try to find other things to match to it.
Such as:

Talk about it in groups, share the answers in class.

Step 10. Do exercises
Finish off the exercises in Activity 8.

1. To remember the new words and their use.
2. To summarize and consolidate “will”.
3. To describe a dream of the bright future.

Step 1. Revision
Check the homework.
Talk about what the life will be in the future.
Step 2. Practice
Say, this class we will learn Unit 3.
What will you do then?
Get the students to say more sentences using “will do”.
Ask questions about the sentences; get the students to say Yes or No to answer
them.
Practice in pairs; choose one or two pairs to check.
Step 3. Writing
Complete the sentences in Activity 1.
Get the students to read the sentences one by one to check.
Share the answers in class.

Decide on five good ideas.
Step 10. Writing
Make a poster. Try to describe an activity which will be held in the life in the
future, best to show the five good ideas.
