Step 1 Warming up & Revision
1. Greet the class.
2. Practice oral communication.
A. Asking for directions
B. Ways to go to school
C. Weekend plan
Check up some pairs to act out in the front.
3. Read the dialogues in Let’s talk.
4. Spell and say the key words in Unit 1 according to the phone- tic symbols together.
5.Show Ss some tips, ask them to try to translate the sentences into English. And then the whole class read them together. Step 2 Presentation & Practice
1. Show them a picture, then ask and answer.
Where is the...? It’s next to...
How can I get to the...? Turn left/ right at the...
2.Lead in. Wu Yifan is going to visit his grandparents. He is talking to Robin. He wants to use Robin’s GPS. Listen and circle. Then check the answer.
3. Look at the pictures and fill in the blanks.
4. Listen again and answer.
A. Are they going by bus or on foot?
B. When are they going?
5. Play the tape, listen and repeat the dialogue together.
6. Practice in pairs and act it out.
7.Give the gesture of sentences. Let Ss observe T’s intonation and gestures.
