《Unit 1 How tall are you?》教学设计
Show the two pictures of XIAO YU and LIU XIANG,and talk about
their height and adages.Then compare.
Presentation
After comparing,we can say:XIAO YU is younger than LIU XIANG.
LIU XIANG is older than XIAO YU.
3.show the pictures and teach
He is older than her.
She is younger than him.
LIU XIANG is younger than YAO MING.
YAO MING is older than LIU XIANG.
LIU XIANG is shorter than YAO MING.
YAO MING is taller than LIU XIANG.
4. Practice:
1) Ask and answer
Guide the students to describe how old and tall are they.
2) Play a game “What’s missing” to practice the key words.
3) Play a game “sentence dragon” to practice the sentence patterns.
4. Consolidation
Arrange every four students in a group to do a survey and fill in the chart of “Do a survey and report”. They are supposed to describe and compare some traits of students in their group. During their discussion, they could use the sentence pattern “How tall are you?” and “I’m taller than...”. I will walk around to offer immediate help. Then, I’ll choose some students to report, and the most active group can get extra points.
5.Summary
The students summarize and the teacher give supplement timely.
By doing so, students will have a further understanding of the lesson and review the knowledge.
6. Homework
The students will interview their family members or friends about how old/tall are they and make comparison after class.。
