My Colorful Extracurricular Life
Hi there! My name is Emma, and I'm a 7th grader at Oakwood Middle School. Today, I want to tell you all about the awesome extracurricular activities I'm involved in. They keep me super busy after school, but I love every second of it!
First up, I'm part of the school band. I play the flute, and I've been taking lessons since 3rd grade. Band practice is twice a week after school, and we practice marching formations and learn new music. It's so cool to perform at football games and school concerts! Playing music with my friends is the best.
Next, I'm on the math team. I know, I know - math club doesn't sound that exciting. But let me tell you, it's a blast! This year, I was cast as Ariel in our production of The Little Mermaid! I have to go to lengthy rehearsals every day after school until the show opens in May. It's exhausting, but the payoff of putting on an awesome show makes it all worth it. I love bringing stories to life and becoming a different character. Theater has really helped build my confidence too.
It's a lot to juggle on top of regular schoolwork. Sometimes I get stressed trying to balance it all. But my parents are super supportive, and make sure I stay on top of my homework. I've
gotten really good at time management and not procrastinating. Plus, doing activities I love re-energizes me after a long day of classes.
My teachers always say kids like me who are passionate and involved in school tend to be more successful in life. By exploring my interests through extracurriculars, I'm figuring out what I love and what I'm good at. Who knows, maybe I'll end up being a professional musician, math teacher, student leader, or actress someday!
