口用里常用结构，表示恐怕或我想等意思。

I am afraid it will rain. 翻译：
表示担心或害怕，是形容词。

“afraid ”
be afraid of sth/ doing sth = be afraid to do sth 表示害怕做某事
例如：I am afraid of going out at night. I am afraid to go out at night.
我害怕晚上出去。

※be afraid of doing sth 也可以表示担心做某事，但是be afraid to do sth 不可以。

例如：I am afraid of waking him up. 我担心把他吵醒。
