一个完整的句子应该是“枝叶”齐全，意思完整明确。
例1：“这种不爱护公物应该受到批评。
”——这一句中缺少主心语，应在“公物”后面添上“的行为”三个字。
例2：“他穿着一件灰色上衣，一顶蓝色帽子。
”——这一句第二分句缺少谓语中心语（谓语动词），应在“一顶”前添上“戴着”二字。
2、方法：补。
即补充成分法。
补充成分法，就是指给不完整的病句补充需要的成分，从而使句子写完整的方法。
不完整的病句，主要是缺少主干成分，即主语、谓语和宾语。
具体到底缺少什么成分需要仔细分析。
通常情况下，主语位置居前，谓语居中，宾语居后（无宾语，则谓语居后）。
由于句子不仅是主干成分构成，还有一定的附加成分，所以先要找出主干成分，再做到缺啥补啥。
例：听了老师的一番话，很受教育。
按照补充成分法的要求，要改不完整的病句先要找出主干成分，然后再看究竟少了什么成分，并补上合适的。
通过分析，句中缺少主语，谁“受教育”，没有交代清楚。
所以在“很受教育“前补上主语“我（我们）”。
句子改为：听了老师的一番话，我很受教育。
例：我们为今年国庆准备。
这个例句有主语和谓语，而“准备”是动词充当谓语成分，“准备”什么呢？没有交代清楚，句子缺少宾语成分，可补“精彩节目”等。
二、类型二：（下列病句应该怎么修改？）1、她喜欢一个人在平静的环境里看书。
2、在联欢会上，李丽演唱了动听的歌声。
（二）用词不当1、用词不当。
也就是搭配不当。
句子中一对词不能搭配或违反语言习惯就是搭配不当。
用词不当是指句中所用的词不符合语境，或用了词义相近，甚至相反的词。
例1：“她喜欢一个人在平静的环境里看书。
”——应将“平静”改为“安静”。
