However, there is an opinion that charity organizations should help people of their own country instead of giving aid to whoever in need. From my perspective, the aid should be given to those in need regardless of their nationality.Natural disasters, war or social turmoil, all these factors may render people fall into poverty and diseases. The rise of charity organizations is associated with the emergence of these disasters. They relieve people from great sufferings and give people in need hope of survival. However, there is an opinion that aid from charities should only be given to people living in their countries while others think that charity should benefit all people. I tend to believe the latter is of more justification.Body 1: why we should give help to those in great needs? What is the responsibility of charity organizations? To help those in great needs is a reflection of moral obligation/duty for human beings.(意义)And this practice of helping others will have numerous/many positive effects involving/including promoting economic development and enhancing social harmony. (影响和作用)Meanwhile, the aid from charity organizations may cover a wide range of people and may be more transparent. However, there are some disadvantages of charity organizations. The money donated by charity organizations may be taken away by local officials and cannot reach those who are really in need. What’s more, charity organiz ations tend to give aid to those areas which are frequently reported by the media. This will cause regional imbalance or even regional conflict.Body 2: whether aid from charities should only be given to local people? As for those who advocate that aid for charity organization should be given to people living in their own country, I hold conservative attitude. There is no denying that it is more effective for charity organizations to give aid to local people. However, how to ensure fairness/equality among different peoples is the priority for charities. Fair distribution of resources and aid is an objective reflection of human virtues. (反证)If every individual or every organization just focus on their own interest, the world will become indifferent and unfriendly. In conclusion, charity organization should give aid to people who are in great need without considering their social background, their nationality and something irrelevant. However, the aid should be supervised and monitored by some independent organizations for fear of corruption or embezzlement. / However, the aid should be controlled or supervised by some dependent organizations so that it can reach the targeted people.(2010.1.14) TableIn today's world, it is private companies rather than governments who pay for and carry out most scientific research. Do you think the advantages outweigh disadvantages? (政府决策类)Background – theme –viewIn present society, there is an increasing tendency that private companies begin to take up numerous/ various social projects. In the past, most scientific research was carried out/ performed by the government. However, the government’s role is being replaced by private enterprises. From my perspective, /in my opinion / from my point of view, /as far as I am concerned, this trend has some merits despite some negative effects / despite some drawbacks.Body 1: advantages of private company’s conducting scientific research: it is a trend that a growing number of scientific research projects are being undertaken by private companies. Obviously, there are some advantages of this tendency. (1) high efficiency.(2) cost-saving. T he ultimate purpose/target of company’s activities is to obtain profits; therefore, they will do their utmost to reduce/lower cost of research. This practice will to some degree save resources. (3)competition will make the companies involved in technological innovation.Body 2: however, there is no denying that there remain some drawbacks concerning the private company’s involvement in scientific research solely. (1) Compared with the government’s activity, private companies cover less people. (2) Insuffici ent investment. So it is not enough to carry out large scale projects such as some space exploration programs.(2010.1.23)MapThe gap between the rich and the poor is becoming wider, the rich get richer, the poor even get poorer, what problems can the situation cause and give the solutions. What? Why? How?What is the gap between the rich and the poor? Why there is the gap between the rich and the poor? How to deal with the gap between the rich and the poor?(从社会现象入手) In today’s society, it is not uncommon that some people live a luxurious life with splendid houses, private airplanes and yachts. However, a majority of people are living in slums and they may worry about their next meal. It is obvious that the gap between the rich and the poor is becoming wider. This phenomenon /this issue / this problem will cause / bring about / contribute to / give rise to some negative effects on both society and individuals, so some solutions should be found out immediately.Body 1:(1) social turmoil /damage social stability. (2) hinder the economic development. (3) this will cause a great fortune controlled by a handful of people, thus leading to the waste of resources. (4) unfair distribution of resources.Body 2:(1)widening income gap is largely associated with unfair education. Therefore, to narrow down the gap between the rich and poor, the government should first guarantee that people have equal access to education opportunities. (2) some new tax policies should be implemented. Specifically, more taxes should be levied against the wealthy people and these should be used in improving poor people’s living standard, building public facilities and infrastructure. (3) the government should provide people with more vacancies and job. In the meantime, more efforts should be made to reduce unemployment rate. (4) the government should provide adequate and cover-all social security.

In the year 2010, the English composition section of the Graduate Entrance Examination commonly known as the Gaokao for graduate studies in China featured a prompt that required examinees to write an essay based on a specific topic. The essay typically involved discussing a social issue, sharing personal opinions, or analyzing a given situation. Although the exact topic of the 2010 exam is not provided here, I can provide a general structure and example content for a typical essay prompt.Title: The Role of Technology in Modern EducationIntroduction:In the modern era, technology has become an integral part of our daily lives, transforming the way we communicate, work, and learn. The education sector has not been immune to this technological revolution, with innovations such as online learning platforms, digital textbooks, and interactive whiteboards becoming commonplace in classrooms around the world.Body Paragraph 1: Benefits of Technology in EducationThe integration of technology into education has brought numerous benefits. Firstly, it has made learning more accessible, allowing students to access educational resources from anywhere and at any time. This is particularly beneficial for students in remote areas who may not have access to traditional educational facilities. Secondly, technology enhances the learning experience by providing interactive and multimedia content, which can cater to different learning styles and make the learning process more engaging. Body Paragraph 2: Challenges of Technology in EducationDespite its advantages, the integration of technology in education also presents challenges. One of the main concerns is the digital divide, where students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds may not have access to the necessary technology, thus widening the gap in educational opportunities. Additionally, there is a risk of students becoming overly reliant on technology, potentially neglecting the development of critical thinking and problemsolving skills that are essential for lifelong learning.Body Paragraph 3: Balancing Technology and Traditional LearningTo maximize the benefits of technology while mitigating its challenges, it is crucial to strike a balance between the use of technological tools and traditional learning methods. Educators should be trained to effectively integrate technology into their teaching practices, ensuring that it supports rather than replaces the learning process. Furthermore, policies should be implemented to ensure that all students have equal access to technological resources. Conclusion:In conclusion, technology has the potential to greatly enhance the educational experience, but it is important to approach its integration thoughtfully. By recognizing and addressing the challenges associated with technology in education, we can ensure that it serves as a tool for empowerment and equal opportunity for all students.Word Count: Approximately 400 wordsThis essay structure provides a balanced view of the topic, discussing both the benefits and challenges of technology in education, and concludes with a call to action for a balanced approach. Adjust the content to fit the specific prompt given in the 2010 exam if necessary.。

In 2010, the topic for the writing section of the English exam was about the impact of technology on people's lives. I remember it vividly because it was a topic that I was really interested in. I believe that technology has brought both positive and negative effects to our lives. On the positive side, technology has made our lives more convenient. For example, with the invention of smartphones, we can easily communicate with our friends and family no matter where we are. We can also access information and entertainment with just a few taps on the screen. This has definitely improved our quality of life in many ways. However, there are also negative effects of technology. For instance, the excessive use of social media and online games has led to addiction problems among many people. Ihave seen friends who spend hours on their phones, scrolling through social media feeds and playing games, neglecting their real-life relationships and responsibilities. This is definitely a concerning issue that we need to address.

Here is an English essay with a word count of over 1,000 words based on the given title "English I 2010 Major Essay":The Importance of Learning English in Today's Global EconomyIn today's increasingly interconnected world, the ability to communicate effectively in English has become an indispensable skill. As the primary language of international business, diplomacy, and scientific research, English proficiency opens doors to a wealth of opportunities and serves as a crucial asset in a wide range of professional and personal pursuits. For students enrolled in the English I program in 2010, the mastery of the English language not only holds the key to academic success but also lays the foundation for a future marked by global competitiveness and cross-cultural collaboration. One of the most compelling reasons for students to prioritize the study of English is the prominent role it plays in the global economy. As multinational corporations continue to expand their operations across borders and emerging markets gain prominence on the world stage, the demand for employees fluent in English has skyrocketed.Managers, analysts, and professionals in fields such as finance, marketing, and international relations are increasingly expected to possess strong English communication skills, enabling them to engage with clients, partners, and colleagues from diverse cultural backgrounds. By honing their English proficiency through the English I curriculum, students equip themselves with a valuable skill set that can significantly enhance their employability and career prospects in the global job market. Moreover, the importance of English extends beyond the realm of business and extends into the realms of science, technology, and academia. A significant portion of the world's scholarly publications, research papers, and academic conferences are conducted in English, making it a crucial language for students aspiring to pursue higher education or contribute to the advancement of knowledge in their respective fields. By developing a strong foundation in English through the English I program, students gain access to a vast wealth of information and resources, empowering them to stay informed, collaborate with international peers, and make meaningful contributions to the global discourse in their areas of expertise. In addition to its practical applications in the professional and academic spheres, the mastery of English can also enrich students' personal lives and foster a deeper understanding of diverse cultures. As the language of international travel, English proficiency allowsstudents to explore the world with greater ease, engage in meaningful cross-cultural exchanges, and immerse themselves in the customs and traditions of different societies. Through the study of English, students can cultivate a global mindset, develop empathy and respect for cultural differences, and expand their horizons beyond the boundaries of their immediate surroundings.Furthermore, the study of English can have a profound impact on students' cognitive development and critical thinking skills. The process of learning a new language, with its unique grammatical structures, vocabulary, and modes of expression, challenges the brain to make new neural connections and engage in complex problem-solving. This intellectual stimulation can enhance students' analytical abilities, improve their memory and attention span, and foster a more flexible and creative approach to problem-solving –skills that are highly valued in both academic and professional settings.Recognizing the profound significance of English proficiency in today's interconnected world, the English I program in 2010 played a crucial role in equipping students with the necessary linguistic and intercultural competencies to thrive in the global arena. Through a comprehensive curriculum that emphasizes reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills, the program empowered students to become confident and effective communicators, capable of navigating thediverse challenges and opportunities presented by the globalized landscape.Beyond the acquisition of language skills, the English I program also fostered the development of critical thinking, research, and collaborative abilities – essential skills for success in the 21st century. By engaging in discussions, debates, and project-based learning, students learned to analyze complex issues from multiple perspectives, to articulate their ideas persuasively, and to work effectively in teams – all of which are highly valued by employers and academic institutions alike. Moreover, the English I program's emphasis on cultural awareness and sensitivity prepared students to navigate the nuances of cross-cultural interactions, a crucial competency in an increasingly globalized world. Through the study of literature, films, and other cultural artifacts, students gained a deeper understanding of diverse perspectives, traditions, and worldviews, equipping them with the empathy and adaptability necessary to thrive in multicultural environments. The lasting impact of the English I program can be seen in the achievements and contributions of its alumni. Many former students have gone on to pursue successful careers in fields such as business, diplomacy, academia, and the arts, leveraging their Englishproficiency to make meaningful impacts on a global scale. Whether they are negotiating international trade agreements, conducting groundbreaking research, or fostering cross-cultural understanding through the arts, these individuals embody the transformative power of the skills and knowledge acquired through the English I curriculum. In conclusion, the English I program in 2010 played a pivotal role in equipping students with the linguistic, critical thinking, and intercultural competencies necessary to navigate the challenges and opportunities of the 21st-century global landscape. By emphasizing the importance of English proficiency, the program not only prepared students for academic and professional success but also fostered a deeper understanding of diverse cultures and a genuine appreciation for the richness of human diversity. As the world continues to evolve, the lessons and skills imparted through the English I program remain as relevant and invaluable as ever, shaping the next generation of global leaders and problem-solvers.。

In the contemporary world, technology has become an integral aspect of our daily lives. It offers numerous benefits, ranging from enhanced connectivity to increased productivity. However, the rapid pace of technological advancement also raises concerns regarding its potential consequences on our privacy, security, and well-being.One of the most significant advantages of technology is its ability to facilitate seamless communication and global connectivity. Social media platforms, instant messaging apps, and video conferencing tools have made it easier than ever to stay connected with friends, family, and colleagues across geographical boundaries. Through technology, we can share experiences, ideas, and perspectives in real-time, fostering a sense of community and inclusivity.Furthermore, technology has revolutionized theworkplace, leading to increased productivity and efficiency. With the advent of cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and automation, tasks can be completed faster and more accurately. This frees up valuable time and resources, allowing individuals to focus on more strategic andcreative endeavours. Moreover, technology has created new opportunities for flexible work arrangements, empowering employees to work remotely and achieve a better work-life balance. However, the widespread adoption of technology also presents certain challenges that require careful consideration. One of the primary concerns is the erosionof privacy. With the increasing amount of personal data collected and stored online, there is a growing risk ofdata breaches and identity theft. Social media companiesand other tech giants collect vast amounts of user information, which can be used for targeted advertising, surveillance, and other purposes. This raises ethical questions about the balance between convenience and theright to privacy.Another concern is the potential for technology to compromise our security. The increasing interconnectedness of devices and systems has created a fertile ground for cyberattacks. Hackers can exploit vulnerabilities in software and networks to gain access to sensitive information, disrupt critical infrastructure, or even spread malware. The rise of facial recognition and other surveillance technologies also raises concerns about the erosion of individual freedoms and the potential for abuse by authoritarian regimes.Furthermore, the excessive use of technology can have detrimental effects on our physical and mental well-being. Excessive screen time can lead to visual fatigue, insomnia, and other health problems. Social media addiction can contribute to anxiety, depression, and feelings of inadequacy. The constant barrage of notifications and stimuli can make it difficult to focus and maintain a sense of inner peace. Additionally, technology can promote a sedentary lifestyle, which can lead to weight gain and other health issues.

Possible essay based on the 2010 English exam topic:"Directions: Write an essay based on the following chart. In your writing, you should。

1) interpret the chart, and。

2) give your comments. You should write about 150 words on the ANSWER SHEET."The chart above shows the percentage of different types of leisure activities that people in China engage in. According to the chart, the most popular leisure activityis watching TV, which accounts for 53.5% of people'sleisure time. The second most popular activity is reading, which takes up 30.2% of people's leisure time. Other activities, such as sports, traveling, and socializing, are less popular, with less than 10% of people's leisure time. The chart reflects the reality of modern life in China, where people are increasingly busy with work and other responsibilities, and have limited time and energy for leisure activities. Watching TV and reading are convenient and affordable ways to relax and entertain oneself, without requiring much effort or money. However, these activities also have some drawbacks, such as the risk of addiction, the lack of social interaction, and the potential for passive consumption of information. In my opinion, people should strive to balance their leisure time between different types of activities, and avoid over-relying on any one activity. For example, they can watch TV or read books for a certain amount of time each day, but also engage in physical exercise, outdoor activities, or cultural events that enrich their lives and broaden their horizons. By doing so, they can enhance their physical and mental health, develop new skills and interests, and enjoy a more fulfilling and meaningful life.Possible essay based on the above analysis:Leisure Activities in China: Trends and Implications。

It is the foundation upon which human dignity and flourishing are built. Without freedom, individuals are reduced to mere cogs in a machine, their individuality and agency stifled. Societies that value and protect freedom foster innovation, creativity, and economic prosperity. However, the pursuit of freedom is not without its challenges. The inherent tension between individual liberty and collective responsibility is a constant source of debate. To what extent should individual rights be sacrificed for the greater good? Can a society be truly free if certain groups are denied basic freedoms?Furthermore, the pursuit of freedom can lead to excess and abuse. When individual liberty becomes synonymous with selfishness or unchecked power, it can erode the very foundations of society. Striking a balance between individual freedom and societal cohesion remains an ongoing challenge for human communities. In the 21st century, the concept of freedom faces new and emerging challenges. Technological advancements can both enhance and undermine individual privacy and autonomy. Economic globalization can create opportunities for economic freedom but also lead to increased income inequality and exploitation. Climate change threatens the very fabric of our societies, potentially eroding our freedom to live in a safe and sustainable environment. To address these challenges, we must reaffirm the importance of freedom while also recognizing the need for responsible stewardship. We must find ways to balance individual rights with collective obligations, fostering a society that is both free and just. Embracing diversity and promoting inclusivity will ensure that all members of society have the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of freedom. And investing in education and critical thinking will empower individuals to make informed choices and participate meaningfully in their communities and the world at large.

2.准确性(accuracy):数据不能抄错,不能准确判断的数字,要用about/around/just over/justunder/roughly/ approximately,千万注意数据的单位,特别是有millions ,thousands 这些单位的时候。

The graphs below show the enrolments of overseas students and local students in Britain.改写:The graphs provide information about the proportions of overseas students and local students enrolled in Britain’s Universities from 1989 to 1999.

)替换:show 可以替换成describe/dispict/illustrate/demonstrate/summarise/outline/indicate/ reveal/ represent /reflect/exhibitprovide(present)the information /data(on/about/referring to/concerning)proportion/percentagecategory/kind/typefamily/householdfamily living in poverty/ poor family/ impoverished familythe UK/Britain Englandnumber/figure/statisticsmales/men females/womeninfluence /affect/effect/impactdemand/needsubway/metro/underground railwaychart /bar chart /pie chart/diagram/ process diagramgraph/ line graphtable/chartfrom 1970 to 2000for 1970 to 2000between 1970 and 2000during the period of 30 yearsduring the period from 1970 to 2000over 1999删词:添词:加入图中的其他文字信息(比如说,时间、性别、国家)六.

1:The average US family had 4.5 people in 1915, 3.3 in 1967 and 2.6 in 2006.改后:Average family size in the US has been shrinking, from 3.3 in 1967 to 2.6 people in 2006,compared to 4.5 people in 1915.例句2:Non-metropolitan counties had a property crime rate of 1250 per 100000 people ,and metropolitan counties experienced a rate of 2529 offenses per 100,000 inhabitants.改后:The property crime rate in non-metropolitan counties was relatively low 1,250 per 100,000,less than half the rate in metropolitan counties(2529 offenses per 100000 inhabitants). According to the…As shown /(可以替换show 的动词的过去分词)in the…As can be seen from the …thatWe can see from the …that??(尽量不用第一人称,增加文章的客观性)It is manifest from the …thatIt is clearly evident from the…thatIt can be clearly seen from the …that(这些表达前面如果加上Therefore,Thus 则是用于结论段的标准句型)主体段第二句开头,“具体来说”:More exactly, To be more exactMore precisely, To be more preciseMore specifically,To be more specific线图中描述上升、下降、稳定等趋势的词(动词为主,注意时态,名词可以做同义替换,副词和形容词则相应的对变化程度和趋势做修饰,使得语言更加准确和丰富):表示上升的动词:go up ( went up)to , increase (increased) to ,rise( rose) to, ascend(ascended) to, grow(grew) to,clime (climbed)to,其他可以替换的名词性单词或词组increase, rise (in什么方面/to什么数据),句型there be a rise/an increase in 什么方面to 什么数据什么方面experiences a rise/ an increase to 什么数据a growth(in),an upward trend (in),表示急剧上升的动词:jump(jumped),shoot up(shot up), surge (surged), soar(soared),boom(boomed),可以替换的名词性单词或词组surge 也可以做名词a boom in(a dramatic rise in)表示下降的动词:decline to,fall to, drop to, sink, decrease to, descend to, go down to reduce to ,lower可以替换的名词性单词或词组a decline in,a fall in,a drop in,a decrease in表示急剧下降的动词:plummet, plunge, dip, slump toa plunge /slump in表示变化程度的形容词(加LY即为副词):表示速度快:sharp, dramatic, drastic, rapid, precipitous (陡峭的,急躁的), steep, sudden, quick, swift表示速度慢,缓慢的,逐渐的:gradual, steady, gentle, slow表示幅度大的dramatic, marked, substantial, significant, considerable, huge, enormous, noticeable, notable, apparent表示幅度小的modest, slight, moderate, minimal表示波动的动词fluctuate,名词为fluctuation,形容词为a fluctuant change/movement表示稳定在某一水平的动词词组:level off at,level out at,hover at,stabilize at,reach a plateau at,plateau at,a relatively stable level,(period, state),remain stale/steady(at),stay constant (at),maintain the same levelthere be no change in表示到达最高点的动词词组:peak at,reach the highest point atpeak 也可以做名词。
