以when,where,what,which,who,how much/many等疑问词引出的问题。

2.判断是非形式。

含有TRUE/FALSE,NOT true或EXCEPT等的判断是非的问题。

此时要注意题干中是否含有否定词,如not,never等。

3.以“According to...”开头的提问形式。

4.填空形式。

如The biggest challenge for most mothers is from________.(二)细节理解题正确选项特征同义替换指对原文句子中的关键词进行同义替换。

2022高考英语二轮阅读理解精选(01)及解析A(·湖北卷,A) Honesty,my mum always used to tell me,is the best policy.Of course, this didn't include her when she told me that if I didn't eat all my vegetables Father Christmas would find out and wouldn't give me any presents. But when it comes to medicine,I had assumed it was important to always be honest with my patients. After all,the doctor-patient relationship is based on trust, and therefore honesty is essential. Or so I thought.I had just started working in geriatrics (老年病科).Mr.McMahon was brought in when his belly was found very swollen.I took a medical history from his daughter who'd accompanied him in the ambulance. She'd been his main carer for years.I stood looking at him as she gave a detailed history.“Has he lost any weight recently?” I asked,“Well,it's funny you should mention that, but yes,” she said slowly. There was silence for a few moments.“Why? What are you worried about” she asked,I hesitated. She was obviously very involved in his care and it was only fair that I told her the truth.“Well,we need to prove it's not cancer.”I said and talked briefly about some of the tests I was going to order.Half an hour later,a nurse called me: “Mr.McMahon's daughter broke down—she said you told her he had cancer.” My heart sank.By the time I arrived at the ward,my consultant was already there, explaining that we still had to run lots of tests and that it was by no means confirmed that he had cancer.I stood silently at the end of the bed.My consultant was obviously angry with me and as we left Mr.McMahon, she turned to me.“Why on earth did you do that?”she asked in disbelief.I looked at her and bit my lip.“She asked me what I was worried about and I told her.” I said,hanging_my_head.“And give her more to worry about?”replied my consultant.“You don't say the word ‘cancer’ until it's confirmed.Even if you suspect it,think very carefully before you tell people.”As it turned out,it wasn't cancer. But I did learn that when someone is stressed and worried about their loved one they're sometimes selective in what they hear—and as a doctor it's important to be mindful of this.In being truthful,I'd made the situation worse.原本在一位大夫的心目中,诚实是第一位的;而且在工作中也是奉行诚实本分的处世原则。

Jo Usmar is a writer for Cosmopolitan and co-author of the This Book Will series(系列)of lifestyle books. Here she picks her top reads.
I guess that there's probably some demanding work schedule, or social anxiety around stepping up to help for an unknown sport. She may just need a little persuading. So I try again and tug at the heartstrings. I mention the single parent with four kids running the show and I talk about the dad coaching a team that his kids aren’t even on … At this point the unwilling parent speaks up,“Alright. Yes, I’ll do it.”

2019高考英语二轮阅读理解金题编(1)及解析

2019高考英语二轮阅读理解金题编(1)及解析

2019高考英语二轮阅读理解金题编(一)及解析Section AA(2018吉林三调,D)Failure is probably the most exhausting experience a person ever has. There is nothing more tiring than not succeeding. We experience this tiredness in two ways: as start-up fatigue(疲惫)and performance fatigue. In the former case, we keep putting off a task because it is either too boring or too difficult. And the longer we delay it, the more tired we feel.Such start-up fatigue is very real, even if not actually physical, not something in our muscles and bones. The solution is obvious though perhaps not easy to apply: always handle the most difficult job first.Years ago, I was asked to write 102 essays on the great ideas of some famous authors. Applying my own rule, I determined to write them in alphabetical order(按字母顺序), never letting myself leave out a tough idea. And I always started the day’s work with the difficult task of essay-writing.Experience proved that the rule works.Performance fatigue is more difficult to handle. Though willing to get started, we cannot seem to do the job right. Its difficulties appear so great that, however hard we work, we fail again and again. In such a situation, I work as hard as I can—then let the unconscious take over. When planning Encyclopaedia Britannica(《大英百科全书》), I had to create a table of contents based on the topics of its articles. Nothing like this had ever been done before, and day after day I kept coming up with solutions, but none of them worked. My fatigue became almost unbearable. One day, mentally exhausted, I wrote down all the reasons why this problem could not be solved. I tried to convince myself that the trouble was with the problem itself, not with me. Relieved, I sat back in an easy chair and fell asleep. An hour later, I woke up suddenly with the solution clearly in mind. In the weeks that followed, the solution which had come up in my unconscious mind provedcorrect at every step. Though I worked as hard as before, I felt no fatigue. Success was now as exciting as failure had been depressing.Human beings, I believe, must try to succeed. Success, then, means never feeling tired.1.People with start-up fatigue are most likely to.A.delay tasksB.work hardC.seek helpD.accept failure2.What does the author recommend doing to prevent start-up fatigue?A.Writing essays in strict order.B.Building up physical strength.C.Leaving out the toughest ideas.D.Dealing with the hardest task first.3.On what occasion does a person probably suffer from performance fatigue?A.Before starting a difficult task.B.When all the solutions fail.C.If the job is rather boring.D.After finding a way out.4.According to the author, the unconscious mind may help us.A.ignore mental problemsB.get some nice sleepC.gain complete reliefD.find the right solutionB(2017山东临沂三模)Sometimes the toughest thing about feelings is sharing them with others.Sharing your feelings helps you whether your feelings are wonderful or terrible.Sharing also helps you to get closer to people you care about and who care about you.But how?You can’t tell your friends what’s inside your backpack if you don’t know what’s in there yourself.Feelings are the same way. Before you can share them with anyone, you have to figure out what feelings you have.Making a list of your feelings can help. You can do this in your mind or by writing them out or even by drawing pictures. Is something bothering you?Does it make you frustrated or terrified?Do you feel this emotion only once in a while or most of the time? The way a person feels inside is important. If you keep feelings locked inside,it can even make you feel sick! But if you talk with someone who cares for you,you will almost always start to feel better. It doesn’t mean your problems and worries magically disappear, but at least someone else knows what’s bothering you and can help you find solutions.Your mom and dad want to know if you have problems and what’s happening in your life. But what if a kid doesn’t want to talk with parents? Then find another adult you trust, like a relative or a teacher at school.Maybe this person can help you talk with your parents about your problem or concern.Once you know who you can talk with, you’ll want to pick a time and place to talk. You can talk publicly in your family. But some kids are more private than others and they will feel shy about sharing their feelings. Then find a quiet place or write it down on a piece of paper.A kid doesn’t have to share every feeling he or she has.5.What does the passage mainly tell us?A.The importance of feelings.B.How to figure out your feelings.C.How to share your feelings.D.The people sharing your feelings.6.What can we learn from Paragraph 2?A.Kids can’t tell their friends about their backpacks.B.Kids should know about themselves first before sharing.C.Kids need to find out what others think of them first.D.Kids’ feelings are the same in a way.7.What might happen after sharing your feelings with others?A.You’ll recover from your illness.B.You will feel relieved.C.Your worries will magically disappear.D.You’ll like more private talks.8.Where is this passage probably taken from?A.A science fiction.B.A parents’ brochure.C.A children’s magazine.D.A notice board.Section B(2018安徽江南十校3月联考,B)My friend Jennifer was going to be at my school!I was convinced that we would be best friends. She introduced me to her friend Amy and we had lots of fun together. But things started to change. Jennifer wanted to be the “leader”of our little group. She was controlling, and I couldn’t make new friends. If I made new friends, she would decide that I was“mad at her”. Pretty soon being Jennifer’s friend was a struggle.I always waited for Jennifer and Amy after class, but sometimes when they left, they’d walk right past me as if they couldn’t even see me.We often gossiped about people, and I soon realized that nobody was good enough for Jennifer. She had a list of bad things about everybody, even Amy, and about me, I guessed. I had changed—I became moody, depressed, and lonely. I spent days trying not to cry. I felt so left out. Finally, something snapped. I was sick of having to battle for friendship. I stopped sitting with Jennifer at lunch and waiting for her after class. Jennifer quickly announced I was “mad at her”. I said, “I’m not mad. I just want to make more friends.”But to Jennifer, it was all or nothing, and she was convinced I was mad at her. Our friendship fell to pieces. It was tough at first, but I found many girls whom Jennifer had classified as “moody”or “mean”to be the sweetest, friendliest people in the world. Now, I have tons of friends. They support me when I am sad, and I support them. We have fun together and I love them all. It amazes me how easy our friendship is. There is no struggling to be on top—we are all equal. It doesn’t matter to me if two of them walk away or buy friendship necklaces together. It doesn’t hurt my feelings or make me feel alone.I lost a friend, but I am a happier person now.1.The writer thought Jennifer.A.far too outstanding to matchB.rather annoying and dullC.too self-centeredD.the right one to make friends with2.What does the underlined part “something snapped”in Paragraph 4 mean?A.The writer and Jennifer hated each other.B.The writer and Jennifer broke up.C.Jennifer treated the writer worse.D.The writer felt mad about losing Jennifer.3.The writer decided to break up with Jennifer because.A.Jennifer spoke ill of her behind her backB.she had made other friendsC.Jennifer had hurt her feelingsD.other girls were sweeter and friendlier than Jennifer4.What can be inferred from the passage?A.The writer now regrets losing her friend Jennifer.B.The writer still gets upset when left out occasionally.C.The writer’s new friends are all moody and mean.D.The writer enjoys more than just one friendship.Section CAStained glass (彩色玻璃) artists create different designs by making cuts on the glass to “score”it and then breaking off the pattern that they want to use in the finished product. The most difficult cut in stained glass is called an inside cut. Basically, it’s a curved (弯曲的) line where you throw away the part inside of the curve. The problem with inside cuts is that the edges of the curve tend to break off when the pieces of scored glass are broken apart. As an artist talked about inside cuts, he said, “The glass will break into pieces if you try to cut too much off at once. The best way to do an inside cut is slice off smaller curves piece by piece. In fact, it’s not just the best way to do it, but it’s the only way to do it.”How many times do you try to make a big change and cut the entire piece at once? We convince ourselves that we can do this all the time. We’ll commit to transforming our diet overnight or we get inspired to launch a business in a weekend or we finally get motivated to work out and push ourselves to the edge of burning out.Why not approach your goals and dreams like the stained glass artist? Starting by slicing a shallow curve and breaking a small piece off, you cut a slightly deeper curve and break that off until you have your full inside cuts. By slowly cutting deeper and deeper curves, you prevent the glass from breaking as it change shapes.Of course, changing isn’t easy—no matter how you do it. Slow gains are boring, but if we keep making small improvements, then pretty soon we will end up with a beautiful masterpiece instead of a bunch of broken pieces.1.Why is an inside cut believed to be the most difficult?A.It needs a one-and-only design.B.It calls for nothing but inspiration.C.The edges of the curve break easily.D.The glass inside the curve is easily broken.2.What mistakes are easily made according to Paragraph 3?A.Being too eager to make improvements.B.Being too worried about the final outcome.C.Trying to make a complete change all at once.D.Developing to focus on progress instead of achievements.3.What does the author suggest by saying “slicing a shallow curve”?A.Moving forward with a clear aim.B.Starting slow and improving little by little.C.Developing a new habit with great determination.D.Handling something major first and ignore the minor part.4.What is the author’s purpose in writing the text?A.To show his love of stained glass.B.To introduce the skill of an inside cut.C.To appreciate designs of stained glass artists.D.To share his opinions on how to make a change.B(2017湖北武汉4月调研)Crying is the rawest sign of human emotions. We cry when we can’t hold inside what we feel any more. We cry when we’re at our best, and when we’re at our worst. By we, I mean all of us. Men included. But we never see other men cry. In no western culture has it ever been acceptable for men to shed (流泪) more than a single tear, and even then it’s reserved for grand victories, defeats and deaths. A Dutch research suggests that women cry between three and five times more than men. Generally men and women cry primarily over the same things—deaths, break-ups and homesickness, but researchers believe that men cry more often than women when it comes to positive events.I want to admit—I’m a bit of a crier. However, having never really experienced deaths in my life, a few weeks ago I experienced what it means to really, truly, pour my heart out in tears.See, my dog was killed by a car right outside my house. Being a witness to this painful event left me in shock for a good hour, but then the floodgates opened. Over the next 48 hours, I might have cried 20 times. Once or twice I crouched(蹲) on the floor with my head in my hands and tears were the only outlet. It is suggested in the book Adult Crying:A Biopsychosocial Approach that there’s a certain pleasure in crying. It helps ease stress when there is no other way to express ourselves. In those days after my dog’s death, I remember thinking, “I’ve got to stop this crying.”It felt unmanly. It felt like a sign of weakness. I’ve since realized that tears are for everybody;they’re not gender-specific. They show we have sympathy, and allow us to get rid of stress and just feel.5.What does the first paragraph mainly talk about?A.Crying is a raw human emotion.B.Crying is an emotion beyond control.C.Crying is an emotion showing sadness.D.Crying is an emotion showing happiness.6.What’s the difference between men and women in crying according to the Dutch research?A.They cry over different matters.B.They cry at different times of life.C.Women cry more often over deaths.D.Men are more likely to have tears of joy.7.What did the author think of his crying over his dog’s death?A.A sign of strength.B.A sign of weakness.C.Behavior of being womanish.D.A way of reducing emotional stress.8.What’s the best title for the text?A.Men, never cry like womenB.Men, it’s OK to cry sometimesC.Crying solves psychological problemsD.Crying explains differences between men and womenSection D(2018内蒙古呼和浩特第一次质量调研,C)Why do you go to the library? For books, yes—but you like books because they tell stories. You hope to get lost in a story or be transported into someone else’s life. At one type of library you can do just that—even though there’s not a single book.At a Human Library, instead of books, you can “borrow”people. People with unique life stories volunteer to be the “books”. For a certain amount of time, you can ask them questions and listen to their stories, which are as fascinating as any you canfind in a book. (If you attend, make sure to review the habits that make you a good listener.) Many of the stories have to do with depressing topics. You can speak with a refugee, a soldier suffering from PTSD(创伤后应激障碍), a homeless person or a woman living with HIV. The Human Library encourages people to take time to truly get to know and learn from someone they might otherwise make a snap judgement about. According to its website, the Human Library is “a place where difficult questions are expected, appreciated and answered”.The Human Library Organization came into being in Copenhagen, Denmark in 2000.Ronni Abergel, his brother, and some colleagues hosted a four-day event during a major Northern European festival. After the success of this event, Abergel founded the Human Library Organization, which has been growing ever since.Though there are a few permanent human libraries, most aren’t places at all, but events. Though many do take place at physical libraries, you don’t need a library card—anyone can come and be part of the experience. There have been Human Library events all over the globe, in universities and in pubs, from Chicago to Tunis to Edinburgh to San Antonio. Check out the organization’s Facebook page to see when the Human Library might be arriving near you.1.What shall we do before going to the Human Library?A.Bring a book.B.Get a library card.C.Get prepared to be a good listener.D.Make an appointment.2.What does the underlined word “snap”in Paragraph 2 mean?A.True.B.Obvious.C.Wrong.D.Quick.3.What is the best title of the text?A.A Library in DenmarkB.The Human Library OrganizationC.The Human Library Is Not FarD.“Borrow”People Instead of Books答案与解析一A[语篇解读]本文是一篇说明文。

So I decided to try my hand at online auction(拍卖).Buying for beginners:Sign up on www. eBay. co. uk. Most items (e. g. tables, computers, and books) ready for auction will come with a picture and a short description; others may be marked with “Buy It Now” and have a fixed price. You can buy these right away.If the item is being auctioned, you offer the highest price you are prepared to pay and eBay bids for you. The bid will be increased little by little until it goes beyond your highest bid, then you are emailed and asked if you would like to bid again. Auctions last up to 10 days, and when they finish you get an e-mail telling you whether you have won the item. How to pay: Sellers decide how they would like to be paid and you need to check this before placing a bid as you might not want to post a cheque or postal orders. The easiest way is through PayPal, an online payment system that takes the money away from your credit card.Selling made simple: If you plan to sell on eBay, it helps to include a picture of the item. I followed my friends’ advice and put up the items I wanted to sell for a 10-day auction, starting on a Thursday. 2019高考英语二轮阅读理解金题编(1)及解析

2019高考英语二轮阅读理解金题编(1)及解析2019高考英语二轮阅读理解金题编(一)及解析Section AA(2018吉林三调,D)Failure is probably the most exhausting experience a person ever has. Nothing like this had ever been done before, and dayafter day I kept coming up with solutions, but none of them worked. But what if a kid doesn’t want totalk with parents? She w as controlling, and I couldn’t make new friends. Jennifer quickly announced I was “mad at her”.I said, “I’m not mad. It doesn’thurt my feelings or make me feel alone.I lost a friend, but I am a happier person now.1.The writer thought Jennifer.A.far too outstanding to matchB.rather annoying and dullC.too self-centeredD.the right one to make friends with2.What does the underlined part “something snapped”in Paragraph 4 mean?A.The writer and Jennifer hated each other.B.The writer and Jennifer broke up.C.Jennifer treated the writer worse.D.The writer felt mad about losing Jennifer.3.The writer decided to break up with Jennifer because.A.Jennifer spoke ill of her behind her backB.she had made other friendsC.Jennifer had hurt her feelingsD.other girls were sweeter and friendlier than Jennifer4.What can be inferred from the passage?A.The writer now regrets losing her friend Jennifer.B.The writer still gets upset when left out occasionally.C.The writer’s new friends are all moody and mean.D.The writer enjoys more than just one friendship.Section CAStained glass (彩色玻璃) artists create different designs by making cuts on the glass to “score”it and then breaking off the pattern that they want to use in the finished product. The most diffic ult cut in stained glass is called an inside cut. Basically, it’s a curved (弯曲的) line where you throw away the part inside ofthe curve. However, having neverreally experienced deaths in my life, a few weeks ago I experienced what it means to really, truly, pour my heart out in tears.See, my dog was killed by a car right outside my house. At one type of library you can do just that—even though there’s not a s ingle book.At a Human Library, instead of books, you can “borrow”people. According to its website, the Human Library is “a place where difficult questions are expected, ap preciated and answered”.The Human Library Organization came into being in Copenhagen, Denmark in 2000.Ronni Abergel, his brother, andsome colleagues hosted a four-day event during a major Northern European festival.

AMy Favourite BooksJo Usmar is a writer for Cosmopolitan and co-author of the This Book Will series (系列)of lifestyle books. Here she picks her top reads.MatildaRoald DahlI once wrote a paper on the influence of fairy tales on Roald Dahl's writing and it gave me a new appreciation for his strange and delightful words. Matilda's battles with her cruel parents and the bossy headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, are equally fumy and frightening, but they're also aspirational. After DarkHaruki MurakamiIt’s about two sisters —Eri, a model who either won’t or can’t stop sleeping, and Mari, a young student. In trying to connect to her sister, Mari starts changing her life and discovers a world of diverse "night people" who are hiding secrets.Gone GirlGillian FlynnThere was a bit of me that didn't want to love this when everyone else on the planet did, but the horror story is brilliant. There's tension and anxiety from the beginning as Nick and Amy battle for your trust. It's a real whodunit and the frustration when you realise what's going on is horribly enjoyable. The StandStephen KingThis is an excellent fantasy novel from one of the best storytellers around. After a serious flu outbreak wipes out 99.4% of the world's population, a battle unfolds between good and evil among those left. Randall Flagg is one of the scariest characters ever.21. Who does "I" refer to in the text?A. Stephen King.B. Gillian Flynn.C. Jo Usmar.D. Roald Dahl.22. Which of the following tells about Mari and Eri?A. Cosmopolitan.B. Matilda.C. After Dark.D. The Stand.23. What kind of book is Gone Girl?A. A folk tale.B. A biography.C. A love story.D. A horror story.B"You can use me as a last resort(选择), and if nobody else volunteers, then I will do it." This was an actual reply from a parent after I put out a request for volunteers for my kids' lacrosse(长曲棍球)club.I guess that there's probably some demanding work schedule, or social anxiety around stepping up to help for an unknown sport. She may just need a little persuading. So I try again and tug at the heartstrings. I mention the single parent with four kids running the show and I talk about the dad coaching a team that his kids aren’t even on… At this point the unwilling parent speaks up, "Alright. Yes, I’ll do it."I’m secretly relieved because I know there’s real power in sharing volunteer responsibilities among many. The unwilling parent organizes the meal schedule, sends out emails, and collects money for end-of-season gifts. Somewhere along the way, the same parent ends up becoming an invaluable member of the team. The coach is able to focus on the kids while the other parents are relieved to be off the hook for another season. Handing out sliced oranges to bloodthirsty kids can be as exciting as watching your own kid score a goal.Still, most of us volunteers breathe a sigh of relief when the season comes to a close. That relief is coupled with a deep understanding of why the same people keep coming back for more: Connecting to the community(社区)as you freely give your time, money, skills, or services provides a real joy. V olunteering just feels so good.In that sense, I’m pretty sure volunteering is more of a selfish act than I’d freely like to admit. What is she reading? None of your business! Lunch is Bechtel’s "me" time. And like more Americans, she’s not alone.A new report found 46 percent of meals are eaten alone in America. Only at dinnertime are we eating together anymore, 74 percent, according to statistics from the report."I prefer to go out and be out. Alone, but together, you know?" Bechtel said, looking up from her book. Bechtel, who works in downtown West Palm Beach, has lunch with coworkers sometimes, but like many of us, too often works through lunch at her desk. A lunchtime escape allows her to keep a boss from tapping her on the shoulder. She returns to work feeling energized. "Today, I just wanted some time to myself," she said.Just two seats over, Andrew Mazoleny, a local videographer, is finishing his lunch at the bar. He likes that he can sit and check his phone in peace or chat up the barkeeper with whom he's on a first-name basis if he wants to have a little interaction (交流). "I reflect on how my day's gone and think about the rest of the week," he said. "It's a chance for self-reflection, You return to work recharged and with a plan."That freedom to choose is one reason more people like to eat alone. There was a time when people may have felt awkward about asking for a table for one, but those days are over. Now, we have our smartphones to keep us company at the table. 2019高考英语(三月)二轮文章阅读(1)及解析

2019高考英语(三月)二轮文章阅读(1)及解析

2019高考英语(三月)二轮文章阅读(1)及解析(1)The Plot Against America is a novel by Philip Roth published in 2004. Instead of reconstructing real historical events, Philip Roth offers something bolder: a reconstruction of imagined events, a "what if...?" that reads like a "what really happened".Just suppose...that the air hero Charles Lindbergh, the man who made the first solo transatlantic flight in 1927, who earned huge sympathy when his baby son was kidnapped and murdered five years later, who called Hitler "a great man", just suppose that he'd run for president in November 1940, and took advantage of the feelings that undoubtedly existed then(No more war! Never again will young Americans die on foreign soil!), and that instead of Roosevelt being elected for a third term and taking America into Europe to fight the Nazis, Lindbergh won a landslide victory. And then he signed non-aggression treaties with Germany and Japan, and introduced a set of anti-semitic(反犹太人旳) measures which were a betrayal of the rights and liberties in the constitution(宪法) and yet they were accepted by the mass of ordinary citizens and even by some Jews. The narrator is Philip Roth, aged seven, and the family at the book's centre are his family - father Herman, mother Bess and brother Sandy. The Roths understand the threat posed by Lindbergh, but each member of the family responds differently. Early on, there's a trip to see the sights of Washington, where the Roths find their pre-booked hotel room has become mysteriously unavailable. An obvious case of anti-semitism, Herman shouts, and a violation of the principle that "All men are created equal". But his loudmouth protests embarrass Bess. Already there's a pressure to pretend not to see what's going on. Further disagreements arise when Sandy disappears for the summer for an "apprenticeship"(学徒期) with a Kentucky tobacco farmer. Worse, after he successfully encourages other Jewish city boys to follow his example, he's invited to a reception at the White House through his aunt, Bess's sister Evelyn. While Herman refuses Sandy permission to attend, Evelyn defends Lindbergh as a freely elected democrat.1.Which of the following is true in history according to the passage?A.Lindbergh’s son was kidnapped and killed in 1933.B.Lindbergh was elected president of America in 1940.。
