Xu Xiake, a famous geographer and tourist in the Ming Dynasty, once went to Xingyi twice to investigate Wanfeng forest and gave it a high evaluation. He wrote a poem: "there are so many famous mountains in the world, only here is the peak forest; the steep peaks are separated from each other, and there are wide peaks, and there are different forests and bamboo shoots." In the scenic area, mountains, countryside, rivers, villages and caves interweave into a beautiful Bouyei brocade, which is a rare pure land in the world. 万峰林英语导游词参考
导读：万峰林景区是国家级风景名胜区马岭河峡谷的重要组成部分，由兴义市东南部成千万座奇峰组成，气势宏大壮阔，山峰密集奇特，整体造型完美，被不少专家和游人誉为“天下奇观”。

万峰林分为东峰林和西峰林两大片。

对外开放的主要是西峰林。

这里奇峰如林，田坝似锦，河水如带，村寨如云，充满诗情画意，恰似一幅朴素、清丽的布依族织锦。

而中南部纳灰村一带，只见一座座奇峰从锦绣田园中拔地而起，瑰奇挺秀，姿态万千，峰与峰之间若连若断，错落有致具有极强的透空感。

这一奇异的峰林带，几乎包含了锥状喀斯特地区所有的峰峦形态，其间还有河流、溶洞、伏流、漏斗，就西峰林风景区大小漏斗就有三十多个，组成一漏斗群奇观。

这里也是中国锥状喀斯特发育最典型、最完整、最集中的`地方，并作为贵州锥状喀斯特的典型代表已被联合国教科文组织列为中国喀斯特世
界自然的遗产预选名单。

三百六十多年前，明代著名地理学家、旅游家徐霞客曾两进兴义对万峰林进行考察并给予了高度的评价，赞叹这片峰林：“磅礴数千里，为西南形胜”，相传还发出这样的赞叹：“天下山峰何其多，惟有此处峰成林”。

【景区内山峰、田园、河流、村寨、溶洞交织成一幅清丽的布依族织锦，是一处不可多得的人间净土。

在这里能观赏到布依族世代相传的一种民间曲艺说唱形式——布依八音，又叫"八音坐唱"，演出队伍８至14人不等，所唱生、旦、净、丑诸戏曲，不化妆。

因用牛腿
骨、竹筒琴、直箫、月琴、三弦、芒锣、葫芦、短笛等８种乐器合奏而得名。

布依八音队多次应邀参加国内外演出，被誉为"盘江奇葩"、"凡间绝响、天籁之音"、"声音的活化石"、"南盘江畔的艺术明珠"。

还能品尝到布依族传统美食，八大碗，相传在明洪武年间调北征南时候，王氏始祖王登科（布依族）统军南下。

当时长途征战，加上云贵高原丛林多瘴气，一干官兵到达兴义府上坡岗时，死伤过半，日常用具等都已丢失殆尽。

到了上坡岗后，王登科见此地四周群山环抱，坝子里却一马平川，命令兵丁修筑工事、营盘以固防御，从此便在此世居下来。

当时因为随军的饮具都已损失差不多了，只剩下用来盛东西的一些坛坛罐罐。

炊具非常缺乏，最后只好依样画瓢，用土法烧制了一些陶制的坛罐和封盖坛口的缸钵，在吃饭时盛饭菜就用缸钵或海碗，久而久之，流传下来就有了布依的“八大碗”。
