喜福会英文观后感ReviewsonTheJoyLuckClub——电影《喜福会》英文影评、观后感
喜福会英文观后感ReviewsonTheJoyLuckClub——电影《喜福会》英文影评、观后感Reviews on The Joy Luck Club——"This feather may look worthless... but it comes from afar and carries with it... all my good intentions."At the very beginning of the movie, it tells a story about an old woman who bought a swan for a foolish sum and brought it to America. This story was mentioned three times in total in this movie, which is connected to June and her mother. This story also reflected "the best quality hope " that June's mother gave to her.SUMMARY OF THE MOVIEMother No.1: SuyuanDaughter No.1: JuneDuring wartime, Suyuan was forced to migrate to Chongqing, carrying her loved twin babies. Take her miserable fate into consideration, Suyuan abandoned both of her babies and keep on escaping. Surprisingly she was survived, and her heart was broken. Her babies were also rescued by someone else.June hasn't started a family yet. After knowing her two uterine sisters were still alive, she decided to go to China to meet them.Mother No.2: LinduoDaughter No.2: WaverlyWhen Linduo was 4, she was engaged with a younger fat boy in a rich family. She couldn't bear the insults so she designed a lie to escape from the house. After that, she got a ticket to Shanghai. Waverly is genius in plying chess and she thought whatever she did, she couldn't get her mother's pleasure. Yet, her marriage to a foreigner is an exception, and misunderstanding between them was also dissolved.Mother No.3: YingyingDaughter No.3: LenaWhen Yingying was 16, she fall in love with a very handsome man and became pregnant before they got married. Their marriage was a failure, and she had no choice but kill her baby in order to "take away the only thing that she shears with her polygamous husband.Lena also had an unsuccessful marriage, she and her husband count every bill in completely detail, they take "fifty-fifty" policy. After being enlightened by her mother, she knew what to do.Mother No.4: AnmeiDaughter No.4: RoseAnmei's mother was raped by a man of wealth and was forced to be the man's fourth wife. Although her family members didn't trust her explains and evicted her from the house, she still loves her old ill mother and cut her own flesh to cure her dying mother.Rose got married with a boss owing a big wine chateau, however, all things she had done to her husband didn't pay off ---her husband's dishonesty drove their marriage to breakdown even had had a lovely daughter.Suyuan, Linduo, Yingying and Anmei, those four Chinese woman's story is the highlight of the movie. They were all insulted and maltreated by Chinese old feudalism in the old society. In order to lead a happy life, they moved to America to build up a new family. Thankfully, their daughters' life are not too bad as theirs and they speak fluent American English. The movie presents the four daughters' personal life, and then lead us to the four ladies' gloomy experience skillfully. Playing mahjong, reading the letter and gathering at the banquet are also the dispensable parts. There are a few points that impressed me:Firstly—the story behind the swan feather. The feather is an embodiment of the hope that Suyan delivered to June, and the hope also represented June' two twin sister. Secondly—fluent American English spoken by those several old Chinese woman and their yellow skin daughters. Fluent American English represented that the four ladies has live in America for many years and they have been accustomed to the American lifestyle. Thirdly—layouts in the four ladies' house and the garments they four wear. There are many antique stuffs with Chinese style scattering in the house. The clothes were also typical in Chinese style. At the end of the movie, June met her two twin sisters, she told them that their mother had already dead, and they burst into tears, simultaneously, so do I.The four ladies migrated from China to America, and brought their cultural background to there anddelivered it to their daughters. It was their mothers' tough experience that taught the girls to learn to be strong and excellent in their own life.(All the contents are written by myself, not derive from the Internet)四川农业大学英语系周记民2016.6.26。

喜福会观后感TheReviewofTheJoyLuckClubThe Review of Joy Luck ClubThe movie Joy Luck Club is adapted by the novel of ethnic Chinese authoress, Amy Tan. It tells the stories of four couples of Chinese mother and daughter. The mothers, who are the first generation immigrants, were experienced the war and the hard life, while the daughters were born in the America, and the belief, the life style and the other aspects between them are different. Thus, the conflict of the generations and the different racial made the movie is very vividly to watch. The four mothers are all native-born Chinese. They had the different background, experiences, and the characters. But the same, they all experienced the rough memory. Mother Lindo was a child bride of a rich family. Her husband was a little boy, and her mother in law always punished her without reasons. At last, Lindo can’t understand the family, and run away with a trick. Mother Yingying fell in love with a playboy and born a son for him. But after the marriage, Yingying found he didn’t love her and even insulted her. So she killed their son and went to the American to found a new life. the mother Anmei’s mother was forced to be a concubine of a rich man, and to protect An-mei, she killed herself. It is the most horrific memory of Anmei. And for the last mother is Suyuan, because of the war, she had to abandon her twins daughters, and it is also the painful in her heart. For the four daughters, they were all born in the American, and this life is the American style, so they always have the conflicts with their mothers. And because they have the Chinese look, sometimes they were treated special. Waverly is Lindo’sdaughter, she played chess very well when she was a child, and also had some conflict with her mother because of it. When Waverly grown up, her boy friend can’t satisfied her mother, and cause to another conflict. Lena is the daughter of Lingling, she is a flabby girl. She can’t get respect and happi ness from her husband. Finally, after the enlighten of her mother, she became to brave and she can say no to her husband. Rose is the daughter of An-mei, she married with a rich man who loved her very much, but her mother-in –law didn’t like her because sh e is a ethnic Chinese. The marriage life don’t as happy as she image and they divorced finally. And because of the encourage of her mother, she dared to strive for the interest of her and her son from her husband. June is the daughter of Suyuan. She always had conflict with her mother, but after Suyuan’s death, she can understand her, and went to China to find the twins. In the movie, the mothers all had the dream. They went to the America and wanted their children can have a new life different with theirs. They want their daughter far away the war, no one look down on them because they have a normal accent of American, and, the most important, they want their daughters can live a good life. But the factdoesn’t like what they image, because every land has t he conflict and the painful on it.And there are many conflict of different of cultures showed in the movie. For example, at the beginning of the movie, mother Lindo makes a comparison of Chinese mahjong and Judaic mahjong. And because Waverly’s boy friend doesn’t know the table manners of Chinese, Lindo is very angry. This movie tells a story between the first generation immigrants and second generation immigrants of Chinese-American, as well as the history of struggle of them. And the movie is worth watching.。
喜福会观后感英文500字
喜福会观后感英文500字Reflections on "The Joy Luck Club""The Joy Luck Club," directed by Wayne Wang, is a film that weaves together the threads of culture, tradition, and mother-daughter relationships in a tapestry of poignant stories. Based on the novel by Amy Tan, the film explores the complexities of the Chinese immigrant experience in the United States through the lives of four Chinese mothers and their daughters. The film opens with a fascinating sequence of flashbacks, introducing us to the mothers as they reminisce about their pasts in China. These memories are starkly contrasted with the present-day lives of their daughters, who struggle to find their own identities in a foreign land. The mothers' stories, filled with heartache and sacrifice, are a testament to their resilience and strength. Theyspeak of the loss of loved ones, the cruelty of war, andthe indomitable spirit that drives them forward. One of the most striking aspects of the film is the portrayal of the mother-daughter relationships. These relationships are complex and layered, fraught with misunderstandings and emotional barriers. The mothers, raised in a culture that values obedience and respect, often find it difficult to express their love and expectations in a way that their American-born daughters can understand. Conversely, the daughters, striving for independence and freedom, often feel constrained by their mothers' traditional values and expectations. The film's exploration of cultural differences and conflicts is particularly poignant. It highlights the challenges that immigrants face in trying to adapt to a new culture while maintaining their own identities and values. The mothers, despite their assimilation into American society, still retain a strong sense of their Chinese heritage. This heritage is reflected in their language, their customs, and their values, which often clash with their daughters' more liberal and individualistic way of life. The actresses in the film are outstanding, particularly the mothers, who bring a depth and authenticity to their roles. Their performances are filled with emotion and nuance, making their characters deeply relatable. The daughters, too, are well-cast, and their performances capture the confusion and frustration that many immigrants feel when trying to reconcile their pasts with their futures. The film's pacing is excellent, with the alternating flashbacks and present-day sequences creating a captivating narrative flow. The cinematography is beautiful, capturing both the grandeur of China and the intimacy of domesticlife. The music, too, is evocative, ranging fromtraditional Chinese instruments to more contemporary sounds, reflecting the film's blend of old and new, east and west.In conclusion, "The Joy Luck Club" is a film that is both entertaining and thought-provoking. It offers a unique perspective on the immigrant experience, focusing on the emotional and cultural complexities that arise when twogenerations of women try to find common ground. The film's powerful message about the importance of understanding and embracing one's heritage is particularly relevant intoday's globalized world, where cross-cultural understanding and tolerance are increasingly vital. "The Joy Luck Club" is a must-see for anyone interested in cinema that explores the intersection of culture, family, and identity.。
喜福会影评读后感英文版
喜福会影评读后感英文版The movie "the Joy Luck Club" is adapted from a Chinese American writer Amy Tan's Theeponymous novel. It is about four for the Chinese the rivalries between mother and daughter, is a moving film. These women moved to the United States for decades, but they still think constantly of raised by traditional education, abide by the Chinese for thousands of years the penetration in the blood, women have become almost feudal patriarchal ideology nature. Their common ideal is to strict education, over his daughter, so they can escape their this generation of women's destiny, they become the eyes of a happy woman. However, the mother of the bundle, the girls in their different ways a revolt, in this race, class, gender inequality in American society, two generations of women staged a fight each other to reach the same goal by different routes, by mutual recognition of tragicomedy. In the tragedy and comedy, the deepest impression is not character mouth lay things, but they cannot speak, those unable to touch, carefully conceal mentioning things, is the silence behind something. Here, silence has become a symbol, its huge destructive power to destroy the existence of female self-esteem, self-confidence and courage, so that they are suppressed in the heavy loss of the ability to survive. However once the silence is broken, the destructive power will immediately disappear, have been suppressed for a long time will be the recovery of human nature, the relationship between balance and harmony will be restored. " The Joy Luck Club" in they and most of the tales are silent and breaking the silence on the main line of weaving togetherThe Joy Luck Club,"" to give our inspiration: in the United States, is one of the so-called multicultural, namely sub-culture and mainstream culture to maintain a consistent pattern, essentially just a trick to cover other's eyes and ears, and cultural assimilation and psychological aggression cover. 《喜福会》英文观后感
《喜福会》英文观后感第一篇:《喜福会》英文观后感My views on The Joy Luck ClubI'm really touched after watching the movie.I enjoyed it very much and it made me have a deep thinking about women’s rights and their thoughts. The Joy Luck Club is about mothers trying to teach their daughters lessons, but the daughters do not understand. All four mothers went through hardships to learn this lesson when they were young and now they try to teach their daughters the right mix of American culture and Chinese principles. The daughters are unable to understand where their mothers are coming from and they just ignore them.In the movie the mothers can’t express the lessons that they learned as children, to their daughters because they don't understand;however finally they understand. When Lindo was only twelve, she was forced to move in with a neighbor's young son, Huang Tyan-yu, through the machinations of the village matchmaker. After some training for household duties through her in-laws, she and Tyan-yu married when she turned sixteen. She soon realized that her husband was just a little boy at heart and had no sexual interest in her.Lindo began to care for her husband as a brother, but her cruel mother-in-law expected Lindo to produce a grandson. She restricted most of Lindo's daily activities, eventually ordering her to remain on bed rest until she could conceive and deliver a child.However,Ying-Ying’s destiny are not like this. From a young age, Ying-Ying is told by her wealthy and conservative family that Chinese girls should be meek and gentle. This is especially difficult for her, she feels, because she is a Tiger character. She begins to develop a passivepersonality and repress her feelings as she grows up in Wuxi.Ying-Ying marries a charismatic man named Lin Xiao, not out of love, butbecause she believed it was her fate. Her husband is revealed to be abusive and openly has extramarital relationships with other women. When Ying-Ying discovers she is pregnant. She drowned her baby as a revengy to her husband.I was shocked after finish this part.So I serched the internet and found a few information about marrige in ancient China ,women’s status and divoce in nowadays. In the past, parents arranged marriages were very ually young people would have their spouse decided by their parents.Sometimes young people could only have the first look of their spouse at their wedding. It was also common thatsometimes an arranged marriage could be organized even before the child was born as long as parents from both families agreed. For centuries before the early 1900's, there was a prominent male domination in the country of China.Women were deprived of all rights and were present mainly to serve men.Women served as slaves, concubines, and prostitutes.Marriages were arranged, sometimes preparing a female from infancy to serve her future husband. This can be seen most effectively by the practice of foot binding.Beginning around the eleventh century, foot binding became a tradition. When a girl became three or four years of age her mother would tightly wrap her daughter's feet in bandages with her toes tucked under the soles. On top of this excruciating pain, the bandages would be tightened each day.If a woman's feet weren't bound she was considered unsuitable formarriage. In fact, it was preferred that the foot be around 3inches in length. However,in modern days, things have changed quite a lot.Free love prevails and lovers can choose to get married with whoever they love.Of course, in order to show their respect to their parents, formal agreement has still to be obtained prior to any proper marriage procedure. And there is no foot binding any more. The increasing population of males with white collar jobs and liberal marriage laws have both contributed to the rising divorce rate in China.More mature women in China are turning to dating agencies, looking for new mates, after their husband left them for females ten years younger. On the other hand, more men with high paying jobs find themselves surrounded by young paramours.China's liberal divorce laws have given women a chance to break free fromunhappy marriages or marriages that were arranged by their families. But today, it is often the man who is taking advantage of such laws to leave the marriage, once he finds himself in a comfortable financial situation, for a young lover tucked away somewhere.Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of person. So,we should still try our best to protect women’s right.第二篇:喜福会英文观后感My Reflection of The Joy Luck ClubI wonder that when seeing the name The Joy Luck Club most people would treat it as a story filled with happiness and love.In fact, besides love, it is also about the cultural conflicts between four daughters and their mothers. The film is based on the best seller by Amy Tan of the same name.It shows us the lives of four Chinese women who were immigrants to America during the 1950s.As a mother, each of them has a lot of problems with their daughter because of cultural conflicts. The misunderstanding of love between the mothers and their American-raised daughters, the clash between the generations and cultures, and the struggle for the women to fight for equity touch every audience’s heart.Though I was also attracted by something with extensiveness——I want to talk about some points about the language.I had learnt that what are high context communication and low context communication and what is different between them. The former is one in which most of the information is internalized in a person, while very little in the coded, explicit, transmitted part of the message——we must guess what the real meaning of the words is;while the other is the opposite.Chinese just the stands for the former and English is the representative of the latter. An interesting scene in the movie just shows us this. When Waverly’s boyfriend Richie had a dinner with Waverly’s big Chinese family for the first time, he made some stupid mistakes. He brought his typical American habit when the they were eating and he couldn’t understan d what Lindo(Waverly’s mother)mean when she said “ He has an appetite”.When Lindo brought a dish which she was very proud of, as a Chinese, she still said some formulae that the dish was not salty enough and it was too bad to eat;that suggested that everyone around the table should speak highly of her dish after their first degustation;while Richie didn’t understand that Chinese all like to be modest and he criticized Lindo’s cooking, just saying what he thought in his mind directly. What Richie did led to a very embarrassing atmosphere in the dinner and made Lindo very disappointed anddisgraced. The misunderstanding of a different culture and a different language is the mainly reason causing the awkward occasion. If Richie had known what he had faced with was a group of people with different culture and saying a high contextlanguage, and had done some preparation for that different traditional Chinese dinner, he could have avoid to making so many foolish mistake.T o understand what a Chinese mean you could not just follow the superficial message transmitted by his words, instead, you should connect those words to his cultural background and the situation you are in.By appreciating the movie we could realize the culture of a people from their language. In this movie the cultural conflicts between the mothers’ traditional Chinese concept and the daughters’ up-to-date American concept are fully described by their dialogues and soliloquies. In conclusion, a language is really the mirror of a culture;and if we want to understand the marrow of a culture we could appreciate its language.第三篇:《喜福会》英文观后感My Appreciation of the Joy Luck ClubThe first time I saw the title of the film, the Joy Luck Club, I thought that it would be a film filed with joy, luck and happiness. However, out of my expectation, in the film, I saw many unpleasant things—conflicts, hardship, disappointment, sorrow, hurt, torture etc.Of course there were some moving parts, and fortunately, it was a happy ending.Anyway, I enjoyed it very much.It made me have a penetrating thinking. The Joy Luck Club tells about the conflicts between Chinese immigrant mothers and their American-raised daughters and their struggling to understand each other. The film shows us these topics: the misunderstanding of love between the mothers and the daughters, the clash between the generations and cultures, and the struggle for the women to fight for equity. Now I am going to show you my understanding of them, emphasizing on the first topic. In many cases, we and those we love are easy to hurt eachother because of the misunderstanding of love, the conflicts in generations and culture background, or unconsciousness.Take Jingmei and her mother Suyuan as an example. When Suyuan demands the little Jingmei to play piano, Jingmei shouts to her mother, “You can’t make me!” Even Jingmei cried that she wish she isn’t Suyuan’s daughter and Suyuan isn’t her mother, and that she wishes she were the dead like the babies Suyuan abandoned in China. The sadexpression on Suyuan’s face indi cates that she is hurt deeply by her daughter’s innocent words. This reminds me of my similar experience.Once I hurt my mother as Jingmei did.I didn’t mean to hurt her, but those wounding words just slip out of my mouth unconsciously.Often, we hate that why our parents don’t know my feelings, why they like to make us be something and totally unaware that what their children are. While the parents don’t know why all their sacrifices to the children can’t be paid off, even incite hatred.Actually, this is the generation gap that causes the misunderstanding. We don’t know the hardship our parents underwent before. They can’t understand what we are thinking. So misunderstandings appear.Maybe as a child, Jingmei cannot comprehend what her remarks mean to Suyuan, and just want to show her grudge. But another main reason is the different backgrounds of Suyuan and Jingmei bare.Chinese parents always like to put all their hopes on the next generation for they are the generation full with hardship and pain. All they do just want the children to be better, but they ignore that whether their children can accept or not, not along a child born in America, influenced by the American’s individual freedom and knowing little about Chinese culture. The generation gap and culture conflict cause the misunderstanding of the mother and the daughter. The otherexample is Waverly and her mother Lindo.Waverly tries her best to please Lindo in everything.Whether her mother approves or not becomes the master of all her choice.Even Waverly marries a Chinese man because Lindo likes Chinese, while she doesn’t love.Waverly doesn’t understand why Lindo disapprove or criticize whatever she has done.On the other side, Lindo thinks that her daughter is ashamed of her, which is her continual internal injury after Waverly’s winning that chess contest, when Waverly shouted to Lindo if Lindo wanted to show off, won the chest by herself.Every time, Lindo’s disagreement with or indifference to Waverly directly results from the thought that Waverly feels it shameful to be her daughter. Both of them deeply love each other, but in the meantime, they hostile and hurt one another. This is the way them get along with each other.Fortunately, they clear up their misunderstandings and discover themselves by communicating.I am deeply moved by this scene:Waverly Jong says to Lindo, sobbing,“You don't know, you don't know the power you have over me.One word from you, one look, and I'm four years old again, crying myself to sleep, because nothing I do can ever, ever please you.” And after a short period of silence, Lindo smiles to Waverly with tears in her eyes, “Now, you make me happy.” Then they laugh heartily, teary-eyed with happiness.Seeing the old Lindo bursts out laughing, like a child, and Waverly laughs joyfully, I sincerely feel delighted for them.Love needs communicating, understanding, and tolerance, which is what I learn from them.Along with above mentioned, the struggle for the women to fight for equity is also brought to the surface. For instance, Ying-ying encourages her daughter Lena to escape an unhappy marriage, not repeating the same mistakesshe made in her first marriage. And An-mei tells her daughter Rose to learn to shout at the unfair fate, and express her own will because Rose has lost herself in her marriage. These two cases reveal that the women begin to release themselves from the restrains of being oppressed by the men and the old-fashioned thoughts as well as some Chinese traditional characters.Eventually, the women find their true value and win their own happiness.View from the whole film, the title, the Joy Luck Club may just be the old generation’s hope of better life for the next generation. On the whole, this is a movie made specifically for women. It is worth our appreciation.第四篇:喜福会英文观后感The Joy Luck ClubThe Joy Luck Club is one of the my favourite movies, it begins with the main character Ah muir, just returning to the United States from the mainland visit, caught up with a party whose members are all her mother’s lifetime friends and their daughters when mother was still alive.Ah muir is playing mahjong with aunts, sitting in the seat which was her mother’s before. All the four people on the table, with different characters, have their own pains and struggling stories behind.Aunt Lin’s smartness and strongness let herself get rid of the identity as a child bride, striving to today's position;Aunt yingying has unbearable memories in the past, so she hopes her daughter will be bravely being herself;Aunt Anmei was influenced by his mother, knowing to make voices in front of the fate of unfair; While ah muir's mother, because of the war, got apart from her little children accidentally.Four women are all surviving from the poor, getting through trails and tribulations. They don't want their own daughter to repeat their tragedies. But four daughtersintangibly went through their life in a very similar way as their mother’s.They couldn’t understand mothers’ hard cares, feeling confused, painful. As they mature, just know their mother's well-meaning.If the mothers in “The joy luck club” represent the traditional Chinese culture, then the group of girls are the representations of modernAmerican civilization. The attention of author, can say to break the long-standing “center” and “edge” the opposite mode, behind the surface cultural conflict, reaches a deeper cultural identity.America is such a white culture that is dominant, multicultural society, How Chinese immigrants bear the fine tradition of the Chinese culture, and absorb the essence of American culture, so as to construct something that belongs to this group of cultural identity is always the concern of many Chinese writers.Amy tan is one of those observers to the super borders with multicultural insight. Both novel and movie “the joy luck club” ,through the int ersection of heterogeneous culture, provide for readers and viewers a net which consists of different nations and the dialogues between different cultures.“The joy luck club "expresses not only the young generation chase for the rootless memory, also is not only the confusion and the struggle of ethnic Chinese that being in such a cultural identity dilemma, but through the expectation of the fusion of two kinds of culture, expressed the Chinese people are reluctant to abandon and hide the Chinese cultural identity in order to servilely cater to the mainstream culture or in order to squeeze into the mainstream American society, nor to stick to Chinese culture to fight against with the wishes of the white mainstream culture. The film conveys one argue that to downplay cultural identity defined, and to eliminate the culture antipathy. So as to achieve 喜福会观后感中英文5篇范文第一篇:喜福会观后感中英文The Joy Luck Club is about the four Chinese immigrant women and their children grew up in the United States between the respective stories. The title of the novel“ the Joy Luck Club” is the original mothers played mahjong party. These women moved to the United States for decades, but they still think constantly of raised by traditional education, abide by the Chinese for thousands of years the penetration in the blood, women have become almost feudal patriarchal ideology nature.Their common ideal is to strict education, over his daughter, so they can escape their this generation of women's destiny, they become the eyes of a happy woman. However once the silence is broken, the destructive power will immediately disappear, have been suppressed for a long time will be the recovery of human nature, the relationship between balance and harmony will be restored.“ The Joy Luck Club” in they and most of the tales are silent and breaking the silence on the main lineof weaving together The Joy Luck Club,“" to give our inspiration: in the United States, is one of the so-called multicultural, namely sub-culture and mainstream culture to maintain a consistent pattern, essentially just a trick to cover other's eyes and ears, and cultural assimilation and psychological aggression cover. Then, with the other minority women, Chinese women only to regain the original self, breaking the silence and gender culture of silence, in their own way to self-esteem, self-confidence, independent life, to enter the ” joy and hap piness".《喜福会》所讲述的是四位华人移民妇女和她们在美国长大的儿女各自之间的故事,喜福会观后感(附英文观后感),观后感《喜福会观后感(附英文观后感)》.
Title: "A Symphony of Cultures and Generations: A Review of 'The Joy Luck Club'""The Joy Luck Club," directed by Wayne Wang and based on the novel by Amy Tan, is a poignant exploration of the complexities of mother-daughter relationships, interwoven with the rich tapestry of Chinese and American cultures. The film, released in 1993, is a powerful narrative that delves into the struggles of identity, cultural heritage, and familial expectations. The narrative structure of the film is particularly compelling as it weaves together the past and present, revealing the intricate backstories of the mothers and their daughters. This non-linear storytelling method allows viewers to understand the depth of each character's experiences, from the hardships of war in China to the challenges of assimilation in America. One of the most striking elements of "The Joy Luck Club" is its portrayal of the Chinese-American experience. The film does not shy away from the difficulties of maintaining cultural traditions while navigating a new country. It beautifullycaptures the tension between honoring one's heritage and forging a new identity in a foreign land. The performances in the film are outstanding, with a talented ensemble cast that brings a depth of emotion to their characters. From the resilience of the mothers to the struggles of the daughters, the actors convey a range of feelings that resonate deeply with the audience. Standout performances include Tsai Chin as Lindo Jong and Tamlyn Tomita as Waverly Jong, who both portray the nuances of their characters with great skill.Visually, "The Joy Luck Club" is a feast for the eyes. The cinematography captures the beauty of both China and America, contrasting the bustling cityscapes with the serene natural landscapes. The use of color and light adds to the emotional depth of the film, enhancing the mood of each scene.Perhaps the most impactful aspect of "The Joy Luck Club" is its ability to evoke a range of emotions. The film is at once heartwarming and heartbreaking, celebrating the strength of family bonds while acknowledging the pain of generational divides. It encourages viewers to reflect on their ownrelationships with their parents and the importance of understanding and appreciating one's cultural roots. In conclusion, "The Joy Luck Club" is a cinematic masterpiece that offers a profound look at the human experience. Its themes of love, sacrifice, and the enduring power of family resonate across cultures and generations. This film is a must-watch for anyone interested in exploring the complexities of identity and the beauty of cultural diversity.。
喜福会观后感英文
喜福会观后感英文喜福会观后感英文《喜福会》观后感(英文版)【一】The first time I saw the title of the film, the Joy Luck Club, I thought that it would be a film filed with joy, luck and happiness. However, out of my expectation, in the film, I saw many unpleasant things—conflicts, hardship, disappointment, sorrow, hurt, torture etc. Of course there were some moving parts, and fortunately, it was a happy ending. Anyway, I enjoyed it very much. It made me have a penetrating thinking. The Joy Luck Club tells about the conflicts between Chinese immigrant mothers and their American-raised daughters and their struggling tounderstand each other. The film shows us these topics: the misunderstanding of love between the mothers and the daughters, the clash between thegenerations and cultures, and the struggle for the women to fight for equity. Now I am going to show you my understanding of them, emphasizing on the first topic.1. what's the cultural differences? answer :These four cases reveal that the women begin to release themselves from the restrains of being oppressed by the men and the old-fashioned thoughts as well as some Chinese traditional characters. Eventually, the women find their true value and win their own happiness. Maybe it is a common Phenomenonin america, In the United States, multicultural so-called, is to maintain thenew patternconsistent sub culture and the mainstream culture, in essence, is nothing but acover up the trick, is a coverfor the sub cultural assimilation and psychologicalaggression. So, like other minority women, Chinese womenhave only to regain the original self, to break the silence and gender culture of silence, self-esteem, self-confidence, independence in their own way to face life, to eventually enter the "joy and blessing" of the realm.2.What impress me mostly?Answer:Take Waverly and her mother Lindo as an example.Waverly tries her best to please Lindo in everything. Whether her motherapproves or not becomes the master of all her choice. Even Waverly marries a Chinese man because Lindo likes Chinese, while she doesn’t love. Waverly doesn’t understand why Lindo disapprove or criticize whatever she has done. On the other side, Lindo thinks that her daughter is ashamed of her, which is her continual internal injury after Waverly’s winning that chess contest, when Waverly shouted to Lindo if Lindo wanted to show off, won the chest by herself. Every time, Lindo’s disagreement with or indifference to Waverly directlyresults from the thought that Waverly feels it shameful to be her daughter. Bothof them deeply love each other, but in the meantime, they hostile and hurt one another. This is the way them get along with each other. Fortunately, they clear up their misunderstandings and discover themselves by communicating. I am deeply moved by this scene:Waverly Jong says to Lindo, sobbing,, “You don't know, you don't know the power you have over me. One word from you, one look, and I'm four years old again, crying myself to sleep, beca use nothing I do can ever, ever please you.” And after a short period of silence, Lindo smiles to Waverly with tears in her eyes, “Now, you make me happy.” Then they laugh heartily, teary-eyed with happiness.Seeing the old Lindo bursts out laughing, like a child, and Waverly laughs joyfully, I sincerely feel delighted for them. Love needs communicating, understanding, and tolerance, which is what I learn from them.lastly , the Joy Luck Club may just be the old generation’s hope of better life for the next generation. On the whole, this is a movie made specifically for women. It is worth our appreciation.喜福会英文观后感【二】The first time I saw the title of the film, the Joy Luck Club, I thought that it would be a film filed with joy, luck and happiness. In many cases, we and those we love are easy to hurt each other because of the misunderstanding of love, the conflicts in generations and culture background, or unconsciousness.Take Jingmei and her mother Suyuan as an example. The sad expression on Suyuan’s face indicates tha t she is hurt deeply by her daughter’s innocent words. This reminds me of my similar experience. Once I hurt my mother as Jingmei did. I didn’t mean to hurt her, but those wounding words just slip out of my mouth unconsciously. Often, we hate that why our parents don’t know my feelings, why they like to make us be something and totally unaware that what their children are. While the parents don’t know why all their sacrifices to the children can’t be paid off, even incite hatred. Actually, this is the generation gap that causes the misunderstanding. We don’t know the hardship our parents underwent before. They can’t understand what we are thinking. So misunderstandings appear.Maybe as a child, Jingmei cannot comprehend what her remarks mean to Suyuan, and just want to show her grudge. But another main reason is the different backgrounds of Suyuan and Jingmei bare. Chinese parents always like to put all their hopes on the next generation for they are the generation full with hardship and pain. All they do just want the children to be better, but they ignore that whether their children can accept or not, not along a child born in America, influenced by the American’s individual freedom and knowing little about Chinese culture. The generation gap and culture conflict cause the misunderstanding of the mother and the daughter. The other example is Waverly and her mother Lindo. Waverly tries her best to please Lindo in everything. Whether her mother approves or not becomes the master of all her choice. Even Waverly marries a Chinese man because Lindo likes Chinese, while she doesn’t love. Waverly doesn’t understand why Lindo disapprove or criticize whatever she has done. On the other side, Lindo thinks that her daughter is ashamed of her, which is her continual inter nal injury after Waverly’s winning that chess contest, when Waverly shouted to Lindo if Lindo wanted to show off, won the chest by herself. Every time, Lindo’s disagreement with or indifference to Waverly directly results from the thought that Waverly feels it shameful to be her daughter. Both of them deeply love each other, but in the meantime, they hostile and hurt one another. This is the way them get along with each other. Fortunately, they clear up their misunderstandings and discover themselves by communicating.I am deeply moved by this scene:Waverly Jong says to Lindo, sobbing,, “You don't know, you don't know the power you have over me. Love needs communicating, understanding, and tolerance, which is what I learn from them.Along with above mentioned, the struggle for the women to fight for equity is also brought to the surface. For instance, Ying-ying encourages her daughter Lena to escape an unhappy marriage, not repeating the same mistakes she made in her first marriage. And An-mei tells her daughter Rose to learn to shout at the unfair fate, and express her own will because Rose has lost herself in her marriage. These two cases reveal that the women begin to release themselves from the restrains of being oppressed by the men and the old-fashioned thoughts as well as some Chinese traditional characters. Eventually, the women find their true value and win their own happiness.View from the whole film, the title, the Joy Luck Club may just be the old generation’s hope of better life for the next generation. On the whole, this is a movie made specifically for women. It is worth our appreciation.。
喜福会英文读后感
喜福会英文读后感Reading the novel is not the first time of my knowing The Joy Luck Club. When I watched the film, the meaning of the title, the theme of the novel, the reason for the arrangement of stories from four mothers and their daughters and other important things were all unknown to me. But I knew that was my type for it is about feelings between mothers and daughters, and especially chinese speaking Eglish.Amy Tan, a Chinese American writer, is the author of the book in which she explors the mother-daughter relationships. Originally, the relationships between mother and daughter seem to be quite complex in a family but in Amy Tan"s work, it is perfectly typical for its portrayal of conflicts between the traditional Chinese mothers speaking shabby English and the open wholly Americanized daughters who just wear a Chinese face but speak fluent English. I never think it is richly dramatical, and instead these kinds of conflicts, in fact, truly ecists in many Chinese immigrants" family. The novel is written impressively and deeply especially, I think, in understanding of mothers" love for their daughters for reasons that the previous experience of her with her mother provided the basis for her novel. It is said that the exprience of anthor is similar to that of Jingmei woo. Maybe, the novel implies the deep and complex feelings of auther for her mother and her closest relatives in China. It gives me a greatly deep impression that the book is begun with Feathers From a Thousand LI Away. It penetrates the mothers" hope and love for their daughters through a swan"s feather. Through the old woman"s words In America I will have a daughter just like me. But over there nobody will say her worth is measured by the loudness of her husband"s belch. Over there nobody will look down on her, because I will make her speak only perfect American English. And over there she will always be too full to swallow any sorrow! She will know my meaning, because I will give her this swana creature that became more than what was hoped for. and the mothers" former tragic sufferings, we will find that all the mothers are in hope of their daughters never suffering from their sufferings. And the mothers waited, year after year, for the day, they could tell their daughters it is their hope through a feather of the swan in perfect American English. At first, it is a little difficult to understand the reason for these words. However, through the whole novel, in fact, you will find the old woman represents the four mothers, the feather of swan embodies the hope of mothers for their daughters. These sentences show implicitly the feelings of author and her understandings for mothers. In fact, in the Joy Luck Club, the feather indeed is gained by Jingmei Woo. And from the beginning to the end,the feather has been existing.Only if one high-quality novel, like a perfect verse, needs you spending much time reading once more, you will understand something. I thought that the novel is loosely plotted and is in disorder. But the fact verifies that I am wrong. Through the whole story, the novel begins with the death of Jingmei"s mother and ends in Jingmei visiting China to see the twin-half sisters whom her mother had been forced to abandon when the Japanese attacked China many years ago. What"s more, in detail, the stories of four mothers and four daughters have relative connections in theme about love between them and the mothers" hope for their daughters. And the theme shows the comflicts and harmonization between different cultures. Then I think why the author titled the novel Joy Luck Club . I am puzzled by it and the purpose of writer. The name of club made mention of by Jingmei"s mother. And the author directly titling the novel the name of their meeting implies her feelings for her mother. I can guess that the title originated from a kind of hope or belief. According to mothers" former sufferings, they were not happy. Even at the present, all of them hides the previous tragic experiences. Maybe, the club is a place where they can pretend to be happy or avoid the past memory or worries or even the shock of culture.Reading the novel is as we are reading our life and then think our past, present and futere. Especially, the conflict between Waverly Jang and her mother impresses me most. Waverly is a woman who is quite independent-mined and intelligent, but her mother"s constant criticism is terribly annoying. She once had a gift for international chess.however, when she realized her mother taking advantage of her achievement and talent to show off in public, especially to the strangers, she felt terribly ashamed and annoyed. She shouted to you can not make me . From then on, her mother felt cold at Waverly and were particularabout her favorite things. In fact, I think Waverly felt sacred subconsciously at letting her mother down and something that she did was aimed at flattering her mother. When waverly brought her boyfriend, Rich, to her families, her mother just smiled but she still was particular about Rich"s appearance, having many spots on his face. Description about the conflicts of manners between Chinese tradition and American notions has given me a greatly deep impression and quite interesting. These words of And then he had helped himself to big portions of the shrimp and snow peas, not realizing he should have taken only a polite spoonful, until everybody had had a morsel. vividly express the American character of being casual which counts as discourtesy in China. The part of Rich criticizing her mother"s cooking is quite funny and impressive. Our Chinese habit of making disparaging remarks seems to be extremely common. Being modest and avoiding showing off are parts of Chinese traditional manners. Her mother complaining about This dish not salty enough, no flavor , in fact, wasa cue to eat some and proclaim it it the best she had ever made. But the Rich did not understand. From the following description of her mother being horrified, I judged that her mother was bly objective against Rich and even their marriage. Waverly also had such an opinion. But I am wrong and from their conversation I understand something more important. Mother is the only one that understands their daughters or sons in the world. And none of the mothers do not love their children. And the heaty conversattion can make ab bridge between the different generation or even the peonple from the different cultures. I find that if you would not like to tell your hearty words out, others are not able to know what you are and what you think. People each have different opinions about the same things. Waverly had thought that her mother disapproved of her marriage and hated her Rich. However, her mother"s meaningful words surprised Waverly and even me. Just be particular about who I really care for and love. It occured to me that whoever we hurt is always who we really love for reasons that others would not care for our complaint. Yes, who will care for those who you do not love ? The answer is known by us fron the beginning to the end. It is the love for Waverly that her mother has been showing her. Waverly, a wholly Americanized girl, never trully knew her mother and was ignorant of the love for her. Indeed, the language and the culture did make a great difference in the exchange of feelings, which is a terribly high barrier between Waverly and her mother, also between other three mothers and their daughters. But love and understandings, finally will prevail over others.Personally, through the whole novel, the conflict between mothers and daughters, virtually, is that of the cultures between the East and the West. Mothers represent the classic, traditional Chinese culture but the daughters are the symbol of just, free, open and modern American one, which are two kinds of contradictory elements. However, through the whole novel, it is easier to find that finally they can understand each other and be in harmony. When Jing-Mei saw her twin-half sisters, she was surprised at this kind of familiarity. And now I also see what part of me is Chinese. It is so obvious. It is my family. It is in our blood. After all these years, it can finally be let go. shows that Jing-Mei understood her mother"s stubbornness and love and was struck by mother"s greatness. The resolution of the contradiction shows that the cultures of the East and the West can be in harmony with each other.。

It made me have a penetrating thinking. In many cases, we and those we love are easy to hurt each other because of the misunderstanding of love, the conflicts in generations and culture background, or unconsciousness.Take Jingmei and her mother Suyuan as an example. When Suyuan demands the little Jingmei to play piano, Jingmei shouts to her mother, You can’t make me! Then they laugh heartily, teary-eyed with happiness.Seeing the old Lindo bursts out laughing, like a child, and Waverly laughs joyfully, I sincerely feel delighted for them.
1The Special Bond Between Mothers and Daughters in the Movie "Joy Luck Club"Hi everyone! Today, I want to share with you my thoughts about the movie "Joy Luck Club" and the special bond between mothers and daughters. This movie is about the lives of four Chinese-American women and their relationships with their mothers. It taught me a lot about love, understanding, and the importance of family. The movie explores the challenges faced by both mothers and daughters as they try to connect with each other across generational and cultural gaps. It made me realize that even though we might sometimes have different opinions or ways of doing things, our mothers always have our best interests at heart. They want us to succeed and be happy in life.In the movie, we see how the mothers have their own dreams and aspirations, but they also want their daughters to have even better lives. They want us to learn from theirexperiences and avoid making the same mistakes they did. Sometimes, they may seem strict or demanding, but it is because they want us to grow up to be strong and independent individuals. One of the most touching moments in the movie is when the character June realizes that her mother, Suyuan, has been trying to connect with her all along. June discovers that her mother left behind a special gift for her, a jade pendant, which symbolizes her mother's love and hope for her. This scene made me realize that sometimes, we may not fully understand our mothers' intentions or the sacrifices they make for us, but their love is always there.Another important lesson I learned from the movie is the power of communication and understanding. Often, there are misunderstandings between mothers and daughters because they come from different backgrounds and have different perspectives. It is important for us to listen to each other, to try to see things from their point of view, and to have open and honest conversations. This can help bridge the gap between generations and strengthen the bond between mothers and daughters. The movie also taught me the importance of embracing our cultural heritage. In the movie, the mothers share their stories and traditions with their daughters, hoping to pass on their Chinese roots. It made me realize that our cultural heritage is something to be cherished and celebrated. It connects us to our past and shapes who we are today. In conclusion, the movie "Joy Luck Club" touched my heart and made me appreciate the special bond between mothers and daughters. It taught me about love, understanding, and the importance of family. I now understand that even though we may have different perspectives, our mothers always want what is best for us. It is important for us to communicate, listen, and embrace our cultural heritage. Let's cherish the love and wisdom that our mothers share with us, and remember to always be grateful for their presence in our lives.I hope you enjoyed reading my thoughts about the movie "Joy Luck Club" and the special bond between mothers and daughters. Remember, our mothers are our greatest treasures!I hope you find this essay helpful! If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, feel free to ask.篇2当然可以!以下是一篇关于电影《喜福会》中母女关系的思考的小学生风格英语作文。
The Joy Luck Club.喜福会观后感 英文
The Joy Luck ClubAfter seeing The Joy Luck Club that based on the best selling nove by Amy Tan of the same name,I have many thoughts about love and confilicts between the four daughters and their mothers. The Joy Luck Club is a best-selling novel written by Amy Tan. It focuses on four Chinese American immigrant families in San Francisco who start a club known as "the Joy Luck Club," playing the Chinese game of mahjong for money while feasting on a variety of foods. The book is structured somewhat like a mahjong game, with four parts divided into four sections to create sixteen chapters. The three mothers and four daughters (one mother, Suyuan Woo, dies before the novel opens) share stories about their lives in the form of vignettes. Each part is preceded by a parable relating to the game. The first section, Feathers from a Thousand Li Away, introduces the Joy Luck Club through Jing-Mei Woo, whose late mother Suyuan Woo founded the Joy Luck Club, and focuses on the four mothers. Jing-Mei relates the story of how her mother Suyuan was the wife of an officer in the Kuomingtang during World War II and how she was forced to flee from her home in Kweilin and abandon her twin daughters. Suyuan later found out her first husband died, remarried to Jing-Mei's father, and immigrated to the United States. Her mother and Jing-Mei's father attempted to find Suyuan's daughters, and Jing-Mei's father assumedthat Suyuan had given up hope. Jing-Mei, who has been asked to take her mother's place in the Joy Luck Club, learns from the other mothers that her half-sisters are alive and ask that Jing-Mei tell them about Suyuan's death. The other three mothers relate the stories of their childhood. An-Mei Hsu's story relates how her mother left her family to become the fourth concubine of Wu Tsing , a rich merchant, while An-Mei was raised by her maternal grandmother. Her mother returns only to cut off a piece of her flesh to cook a soup in hopes of healing An-Mei's grandmother, though An-Mei's grandmother still dies. Lindo Jong explains how in childhood she was forced into a loveless marriage and was pressured by her mother-in-law's desire for Lindo to produce grandchildren. Through her own ingenuity, Lindo fabricates a convincing story to annul her marriage and immigrate to the United States. The final story of the first section follows Ying-Ying St. Clair, who tells the story of how she fell into a lake during the Zhongqiujie festival when she was only four. After being rescued by a group of fishermen, she realizes that she is lost. This experience emotionally traumatizes her, and she is dropped at the shore, and wanders into an outdoor performance featuring the Moon Lady, said to grant wishes. But when Ying-Ying approaches the Moon Lady after the play to wish to be returned to her family, she discovers the Moon Lady is played by a man.The second section relates important childhood stories of the Joy Luck Club's American-born daughters. Lindo's daughter Waverly recalls being a national chess champion, but her relationship with her mother is strained by how Lindo pressures her and brags about Waverly's accomplishments. Lena St. Clair, Ying-Ying's daughter, relates her mother's nervous breakdown and her mother is extremely withdrawn to the point where first her father and then Lena winds up being Ying-Ying's voice. In contrast, Lena notices and initially pities neighbouring Sorci family, believing their noisiness is an expression of unhappiness, but realizes later it is how they express their love. An-Mei's daughter, Rose Hsu Jordan, reveals how her mother lost faith in God when Rose's youngest brother, Bing, drowned in a beach outing, after firmly believing that following the book "The Twenty-Six Malignant Gates" could prevent any harm to her children. However, An-Mei still insists that Rose puts faith in her failing marriage. The section concludes with Jing-Mei's story, where she reveals how Suyuan had high expectations that Jing-Mei would be talented like Waverly and tried to shape an uninterested Jing-Mei into a concert pianist, which ended after an embarrassing piano recital. Jing-Mei then tells Suyuan she wishes herself dead like her twin daughters, which set in motion their strained relationship. The Joy Luck Club received many favorable reviews. It was nominated for the Los Angeles Times Book Award, was a finalist for theNational Book Award and the National Book Critics Circle Award, and won the Bay Area Book Reviewers Award for Best Fiction, the Commonwealth Club Gold Award, and the American Library Association Best Book for Young Adults Award. It remained on The New York Times hardcover best-seller list for nine months and sold more than four million copies. It has been translated into twenty-five languages.。
喜福会英文读后感
喜福会英文读后感第一篇:喜福会英文读后感The Joy Luck ClubI spent nearly a whole afternoon to read “The Joy Luck Club” which I think is a little sorrowful, but very attractive.Through out the story, there are conflicts, hardship, hurts, torture and so on.“The Joy Luck club”tell us the story of four immigrant mothers and their children that were raised in America. The four Chinese women immigrated to America because of their own reason such as escaping from the war, from the unfortunate marriage and so on.From the four mother’s experience of leaving their motherland, there remain a lot of things that desire our thinking. The war made people lose their home and their family. The traditional Chinese feudal ethics forced everyone to follow. So they leave their hometown to pursue freedom and hope.It seemed a new start to settle in America, but their life was still full of conflicts between the old generations and the young generations with different cultural background.Maybe, it was the culture conflict made them quarrel a lot, for they have different sense of value, family background and education.“All that I am or ever hope to be, I owe to my angel mother.I remember my mother’s prayers and they have always foll owed me.They have clung to me all my life” written by Abraham Lincoln.Mother love is the most altruistic love in the world.Whatever they do is just to ensuretheir children’s bright prospect. In this novel, children didn’t understand their mothers’behaviour. The misunderstanding of love hurt them both. They need more tolerance and understanding in their life. What impressed memost is women’s struggle for gender inequlity, and their seeks for self-confidence.I appreciate this book very much, it tells me a lot of things that I can never learn from text books.第二篇:《喜福会》读后感从隔阂到相知——从《喜福会》中探索美籍华裔母女关系的转变华裔文学作品已经逐渐赢得了西方文学评论家的认可,这些很大程度上归功于华裔女性作家的作品。
The Reading Report about The Joy Luck Club 看《喜福会》小说后的英文读后感
The Reading Report about The Joy Luck ClubReading the novel is not the first time of my knowing The Joy Luck Club . When I watched the film , the meaning of the title , the theme of the novel , the reason for the arrangement of stories from four mothers and their daughters and other important things were all unknown to me . But I knew that was my type for it is about feelings between mothers and daughters , and especially chinese speaking Eglish .Amy Tan , a Chinese American writer , is the author of the book in which she explors the mother-daughter relationships . Originally , the relationships between mother and daughter seem to be quite complex in a family but in Amy Tan's work , it is perfectly typical for its portrayal of conflicts between the traditional Chinese mothers speaking shabby English and the open wholly Americanized daughters who just wear a Chinese face but speak fluent English . I never think it is richly dramatical , and instead these kinds of conflicts , in fact , truly ecists in many Chinese immigrants' family . The novel is written impressively and deeply especially , I think , in understanding of mothers' love for their daughters for reasons that the previous experience of her with her mother provided the basis for her novel . It is said that the exprience of anthor is similar to that of Jingmei woo . Maybe , the novel implies the deep and complex feelings of auther for her mother and her closest relatives in China .It gives me a greatly deep impression that the book is begun with Feathers From a Thousand LI Away . It penetrates the mothers' hope and love for their daughters through a swan's feather . Through the old woman's words "In America I will have a daughter just like me. But over there nobody will say her worth is measured by the loudness of her husband's belch. Over there nobody will look down on her, because I will make her speak only perfect American English. And over there she will always be too full to swallow any sorrow! She will know my meaning, because I will give her this swan—a creature that became more than what was hoped for." and the mothers' former tragic sufferings , we will find that all the mothers are in hope of their daughters never suffering from their sufferings . And the mothers waited, year after year, for the day , they could tell their daughters it is their hope through a feather of the swan in perfect American English . At first , it is a little difficult to understand thereason for these words . However , through the whole novel , in fact , you will find the old woman represents the four mothers , the feather of swan embodies the hope of mothers for their daughters . These sentences show implicitly the feelings of author and her understandings for mothers . In fact , in the Joy Luck Club , the feather indeed is gained by Jingmei Woo . And from the beginning to the end ,the feather has been existing .Only if one high-quality novel , like a perfect verse , needs you spending much time reading once more , you will understand something . I thought that the novel is loosely plotted and is in disorder . But the fact verifies that I am wrong . Through the whole story , the novel begins with the death of Jingmei's mother and ends in Jingmei visiting China to see the twin-half sisters whom her mother had been forced to abandon when the Japanese attacked China many years ago . What's more , in detail , the stories of four mothers and four daughters have relative connections in theme about love between them and the mothers' hope for their daughters . And the theme shows the comflicts and harmonization between different cultures .Then I think why the author titled the novel " Joy Luck Club " . I am puzzled by it and the purpose of writer . The name of club made mention of by Jingmei's mother . And the author directly titling the novel the name of their meeting implies her feelings for her mother .I can guess that the title originated from a kind of hope or belief . According to mothers' former sufferings , they were not happy . Even at the present , all of them hides the previous tragic experiences . Maybe , the club is a place where they can pretend to be happy or avoid the past memory or worries or even the shock of culture .Reading the novel is as we are reading our life and then think our past , present and futere . Especially , the conflict between Waverly Jang and her mother impresses me most . Waverly is a woman who is quite independent-mined and intelligent , but her mother's constant criticism is terribly annoying . She once had a gift for international chess.however , when she realized her mother taking advantage of her achievement and talent to show off in public , especially to the strangers , she felt terribly ashamed and annoyed . She shouted to " you can not make me " . From then on , her mother felt cold at Waverly and were particularabout her favorite things . Infact , I think Waverly felt sacred subconsciously at letting her mother down and something that she did was aimed at flattering her mother . When waverly brought her boyfriend , Rich , to her families , her mother just smiled but she still was particular about Rich's appearance , having many spots on his face . Description about the conflicts of manners between Chinese tradition and American notions has given me a greatly deep impression and quite interesting . These words of " And then he had helped himself to big portions of the shrimp and snow peas , not realizing he should have taken only a polite spoonful, until everybody had had a morsel . " vividly express the American character of being casual which counts as discourtesy in China . The part of Rich criticizing her mother's cooking is quite funny and impressive . Our Chinese habit of making disparaging remarks seems to be extremely common . Being modest and avoiding showing off are parts of Chinese traditional manners . Her mother complaining about " This dish not salty enough , no flavor " , in fact , was a cue to eat some and proclaim it it the best she had ever made . But the Rich did not understand . From the following description of her mother being horrified , I judged that her mother was strongly objective against Rich and even their marriage . Waverly also had such an opinion . But I am wrong and from their conversation I understand something more important . Mother is the only one that understands their daughters or sons in the world. And none of the mothers do not love their children . And the heaty conversattion can make a strong bridge between the different generation or even the peonple from the different cultures . I find that if you would not like to tell your hearty words out , others are not able to know what you are and what you think . People each have different opinions about the same things . Waverly had thought that her mother disapproved of her marriage and hated her Rich . However , her mother's meaningful words surprised Waverly and even me . Just be particular about who I really care for and love. It occured to me that whoever we hurt is always who we really love for reasons that others would not care for our complaint . Yes , who will care for those who you do not love ? The answer is known by us fron the beginning to the end . It is the love for Waverly that her mother has been showing her . Waverly , a wholly Americanized girl , never trully knew her mother and was ignorant of the lovefor her . Indeed , the language and the culture did make a great difference in the exchange of feelings , which is a terribly high barrier between Waverly and her mother , also between other three mothers and their daughters . But love and understandings , finally will prevail over others .Personally , through the whole novel , the conflict between mothers and daughters , virtually , is that of the cultures between the East and the West . Mothers represent the classic, traditional Chinese culture but the daughters are the symbol of just , free , open and modern American one , which are two kinds of contradictory elements . However , through the whole novel , it is easier to find that finally they can understand each other and be in harmony . When Jing-Mei saw her twin-half sisters , she was surprised at this kind of familiarity . "And now I also see what part of me is Chinese. It is so obvious. It is my family. It is in our blood. After all these years, it can finally be let go. " shows that Jing-Mei understood her mother's stubbornness and love and was struck by mother's greatness . The resolution of the contradiction shows that the cultures of the East and the West can be in harmony with each other .《生命列车》The Train Of Life1.不久以前,我读了一本书。

The title of the novel" the Joy Luck Club" is the original mothers played mahjong party. 喜福会观后感英文
喜福会观后感英文After watching the movie "喜福会" (The Wedding Banquet), I am impressed by its heartwarming story and the cultural insights it provides. Directed by Ang Lee, this 1993 Taiwanese-American comedy-drama film explores the themes of love, identity, and acceptance in a cross-cultural context. The storyline revolves around a young gay Taiwanese immigrant named Wai-Tung Gao, who is living in New York City and is in a long-term relationship with his partner, Simon. Wai-Tung's parents, who live in Taiwan, are unaware of his sexual orientation and constantly pressure him to get married and start a family. To please his parents and alleviate their concerns, Wai-Tung agrees to a marriage of convenience with Wei-Wei, a young Chinese artist in need of a green card. The movie beautifully portrays the struggles faced by individuals caught between societal expectations and their own desires. It delves into the complexities of cultural traditions and the challenges of balancing personal happiness with familial obligations. The character development in "喜福会" is exceptional, as the audience witnesses the evolution of Wai-Tung's identity and the emotional turmoil he experiences. What sets this film apart is its ability to transcend cultural boundaries and resonate with a global audience. While the story is rooted in Taiwanese culture, the themes and emotions explored are universally relatable. The film highlights the universal longing for love and acceptance, regardless of one's sexual orientation or cultural background. The cinematography in "喜福会" is visually stunning, capturing the vibrant streets of New York City and the serene landscapes of Taiwan. The use of colors and music enhances the emotional depth of the film, immersing the viewer in the cultural contrasts and the characters' inner conflicts. One of the standout performances in the movie is by Winston Chao, who portrays Wai-Tung Gao with a remarkable blend of vulnerability and strength. His portrayal of a man torn between his personal desires and his familial responsibilities is compelling and deeply touching. The chemistry between Chao and his co-stars, particularly Ah-Leh Gua as Wai-Tung's mother and May Chin as Wei-Wei, adds authenticity to the on-screen relationships. The film also sheds light on the intricacies of cross-cultural relationships and the clash between traditional values and modern perspectives. The cultural misunderstandings and comedic situations that arise as the characters navigate their respective backgrounds provide moments of laughter and reflection.Through its narrative, "喜福会" challenges societal norms and highlights the power of love and understanding. It encourages viewers to embrace diversity and to question traditional notions of identity and relationships. The film teaches us that true happiness lies in being true to ourselves and accepting others for who they are.In conclusion, "喜福会" is a poignant and thought-provoking film that explores themes of love, identity, and cultural acceptance. The exceptional storytelling, powerful performances, and stunning cinematography make it a must-watch for audiences worldwide. However, out of my expectation, in the film, I saw many unpleasant things—conflicts, hardship, disappointment, sorrow, hurt, torture etc. Of course there were some moving parts, andfortunately, it was a happy ending. Anyway, I enjoyedit very much. It made me have a perating thinking. On the other side, Lindo thinks that her daughter is ashamed of her, which is her continual internal injury after Waverly’s winning that c hess contest, when Waverly shouted to Lindo if Lindo wanted to show off, won the chest byherself. Every time, Lindo’s disagreement with or indifference to Waverly directlyresults from the thought that Waverly feels it shameful to be her daughter. One word from you, one look, and I'm four years old again, crying myself to sleep, because nothing I do can ever, ever please you.” And after a short period of silence, Lindo smiles to Waverly with tears in her eyes, “Now, you make me happy.” Then they laugh heartily, teary-eyed with happiness.Seeing the old Lindo bursts out laughing, like a child, and Waverly laughs joyfully, I sincerely feel delighted for them. Now I am going to show youmy understanding of them, emphasizing on the first topic. In many cases, we and those we love are easy to hurt each other because of the misunderstanding of love, the conflicts in generations and culture background, or unconsciousness.Take Jingmei and her mother Suyuan as an example. When Suyuan demands the little Jingmei to play piano, Jingmei shouts to her mother, “You can’t make me!” Even Jingmei cried that s he wish she isn’t Suyuan’s daughter and Suyuan isn’t her mother, and that she wishes she were thedead like the babies Suyuan abandoned in China. The sad expression on Suyuan’s face indicates that she is hurt deeply by her daughter’s innocent words. This reminds me of my similar experience. Once I hurtmy mother as Jingmei did. I didn’t mean to hurt her, but those wounding words just slip out of my mouth unconsciously. Often, we hate that why our parents don’t know my feelings, why they like to make us be something and totally unaware that what their children are. While the parents don’t know why all their sacrifices to thechildren can’t be paid off, even incite hatred. Actually, this is the generation gap that causes the misunderstanding. We don’t know the hardship our parents underwent before. They can’t understand what we are thinking. So misunderstandings appear.Maybe as a child, Jingmei cannot prehend what her remarks mean to Suyuan, and just want to show her grudge. But another main reason is the different backgrounds of Suyuan and Jingmei bare. Chinese parents always like to put all their hopes on the next generation for they are the generation full with hardship and pain. All they do just want the children to be better, but they ignore thatwhether their children can aept or not, not along a child born in America, influenced by the American’s individual freedom and knowing little about Chinese culture. Thegeneration gap and culture conflict cause the misunderstanding of the mother and the daughter. The other example is Waverly and her mother Lindo. Waverly tries her best to please Lindo in everything. Whether her mother approves or not bees the master of all her choice. Even Waverly marries a Chinese man becauseLindo likes Chinese, while she doesn’t love. Every time, Lindo’s disagreement with or indifference to Waverly directly results from the thought that Waverly feels it shameful to be her daughter. Love needs municating, understanding, and tolerance, which is what I learn from them.Along with above mentioned, the struggle for the women to fight for equity is also brought to the surface.

《喜福会》观后感(英文版)
The first time I saw the title of the film, the Joy Luck Club, I thought that it would be a film filed with joy, luck and happiness.
1.what's the cultural differences?
answer :
These four cases reveal that the women begin to release themselves from the restrains of being oppressed by the men and the old-fashioned thoughts as well as some Chinese traditional characters. Eventually, the women find their true value and win their own happiness. Maybe it is a common Phenomenonin america, In the United States, multicultural so-called, is to maintain the
new patternconsistent sub culture and the mainstream culture, in essence, is nothing but acover up the trick, is a cover for the sub cultural assimilation and psychologicalaggression. So, like other minority women, Chinese women have only to regain the original self, to break the silence and gender culture of silence, self-esteem, self-confidence, independence in their own way to face life, to eventually enter the "joy and blessing" of the realm.
2.What impress me mostly?
Answer:
Take Waverly and her mother Lindo as an example.
On the other side, Lindo thinks that her daughter is ashamed of her, which is her continual internal injury after Waverly’s winning that chess contest, when Waverly shouted to Lindo if Lindo wanted to show off, won the chest by herself. Every time, Lindo’s disagreement with or indifference to Waverly directly results from the thought that Waverly feels it shameful to be her daughter. Both
of them deeply love each other, but in the meantime, they hostile and hurt one another. This is the way them get along with each other. Fortunately, they clear up their misunderstandings and discover themselves by communicating.
I am deeply moved by this scene:
Waverly Jong says t o Lindo, sobbing,, “You don't know, you don't know the power you have over me. One word from you, one look, and I'm four years old again, crying myself to sleep, because nothing I do can ever, ever please you.” And after a short period of silence, Lindo smiles to Waverly with tears in her eyes, “Now, you make me happy.” Then they laugh heartily, teary-eyed with happiness.
Seeing the old Lindo bursts out laughing, like a child, and Waverly laughs joyfully, I sincerely feel delighted for them. Love needs communicating, understanding, and tolerance, which is what I learn from them.
lastly , the Joy Luck Club may just be the old generation’s hope of better life for the next generation. On the whole, this is a movie made specifically for women. It is worth our appreciation.。
