帕拉塞尔苏斯(1493-1541),是出生于瑞士的一位着名的医生、炼金术士、占星师。
帕拉塞尔苏斯并非其本名,如此自称,是因为他自认为是比罗马极富盛名的医生塞尔苏斯更加伟大(“帕拉”有超越之意)。
的确,他的医学思想和治疗经验在当时产生了重大影响。
他一生最大的成就,就是把炼金术这个带有魔幻味道的词与医学结合成为了一种新的医疗化学。

不过,他却有个奇怪的想法,认为由人类正常产下的婴儿都会被女性的体液所污染,因而要想制造一个纯净的人,就必须排除这一影响。
所以,他曾幻想利用各种怪异的物质来制造一种完美的人,其具体做法是:在烧瓶中放入人类的*** 、马粪以及各种草药并且密封,通过马粪的发酵作用来进行保温。
经过40天后,烧瓶里就会出现透明的具有人类形状的物体。
但此时它还没有肉体,需要再加入活人的血液培育40周,并在一定的温度下予以保存。
这期间,每天都要保证加入新鲜的血液。
帕拉塞尔苏斯声称已经如此制造出生命,外表和人类婴儿基本一样,但身体比人类的婴儿要小很多。
不过,这样的生命究竟是否存在,现在已不可考。
