1 introduction n 介绍

introduce v. 介绍

introduce…to…向。。。介绍。。。

introduce oneself to 向。。。做自我介绍

introduce sb to sth. 使某人认识/了解某事

introduce…to …把。。。引进

Examples:

1) Before the meeting began. I made some necessary introductions.开会之前我做了一些必要的介绍。

2) Allow me to introduce my new fried Jack to you.请允许我向你介绍我的朋友杰克。

3) My father introduced me to the game of football.我父亲让我了解了足球比赛。

4) Tabacoo was introduced into Europe from America.烟草从美国引入欧洲。

2 amazing adj.令人惊奇的

amaze v 令人惊奇

amazing 令人惊奇的

amazed 感到惊奇

be amazed at/by 对。。。感到惊奇

be amazed to do感到惊讶做某事

be amazed that-clause 因。。而感到惊讶

Examples

1）I find it amazing that you can’t swim.你竟不会游泳，我觉得这很令人吃惊。

2) We were amazed at /by the change in his appearance . 我们对他外观的改变感到惊异.

3) I brought us an amusing piece of news .他给我们带来了惊人的消息

4) His answer amused me very much.。他的回答是我们很惊奇

Examples;

2) Doing morning exercises makes us strong. Similarly, reading good books can make our mind healthy. 作早操使我们强壮，同样，读好书使我们身心健康。

4 behaviour n 行为，表现

behave v.表现

Examples:

1) She was ashamed of her children’s behaviour.她为孩子们的不良举止感到羞耻。

2) She behaves (towards me) more like a friend than a mother.她待我更象朋友而不象母亲。

3) Children, please behave (yourselves)! 孩子们，请规矩些！

5 impress v.使印象深刻，；印，压

impress sth on/upon sb.=sth be impressed on sb.

impress sb with sth.=sb. Be impressed with给某人留下。。。印象

impression n. 印象

have/leave/make an impression on sb 给某人留下。。。印象

Examples:

1) His words were strongly impressed on me. 他的话深深地印在我脑海里

2) She impressed me with kindness.= I was impressed with her kindness.他给我的印象很善良。

3) He gave a bad impression on his classmates.他给他的同学留下了不好的印象。

4) Her behaviour made a good impression on us.她的表现给我们留下了好的印象。

6 disappear vi.消失，不在存在；不再看得见

appear v.出现；呈现

Examples;

The smell disappeared quit quickly.气味很快就没有了

The plane disappeared behind a cloud.那架飞机消失在云层里

The manager didn’t appear until 6 o’clock.经理直到6点才露面。

7 encouragement n. 鼓励

encourage v.鼓励

encourage sb to do sth.鼓励某人做某事

Examples:

1) The teacher’s words were a great encouragement to him.老师的话对他是一个很大的鼓励。

2) He was encouraged to try again.有人鼓励他再试一次。
