Teaching procedures

Step 1 Translate some sentences into English.

Ask the students to come to the blackboard to translate the following into English.

1) 动植物的数量越来越少。如果照此速度下去，我们迟早会失去我们的家园。

2）环境变得越来越糟。如果我们想过上好的生活，我们就必须采取措施来唤醒人们的环保意识。

3）动植物的数量从1960年的两千多种降到了2008年的五百多种。4）是我们采取行动保护环境的时候了。

5）许多工厂直接将污水排到了河流中。

6）我想在网上购买一本电子词典。

7）我不知道应该买哪一种。

8）该电子词典应该词汇量大。

9）该词典一定要能发音。

I’m writing to ask you for some advice. As a Senior 3 student, I am in great need of an e-dictionary to prepare myself for English exams and improve my English, but I don’t know which type to buy. I would be grateful if you could recommend one for me.

I need an e-dictionary which can teach me how to pronounce new words and has a large vocabulary so that I can still use it when I am in college. The price I can afford is about 500 yuan. What’s more, I am wondering how I will pay for it and how soon I will receive it.
