Monsoons(季候风) are strong winds affecting the weather of several Asian countries. From April to October, the summer monsoon moves from the southwest to the northeast, starting in India and continuing through several Southeast Asian countries. In the winter, the monsoon goes the other direction.
Monsoons are caused by differences in land and sea air
temperatures. In the summer, India gets very hot. The air over the
land is warmer than the air over the Indian Ocean. This draws air from
the ocean towards the land. In the winter, the situation is the
opposite, and the ocean draws air from the land.
The summer monsoon brings heavy rains to the area. These rains
are very important to farmers. In contrast, the winter monsoon brings
dry, sunny weather to the area.

It is said that all dreams serve a purpose. While there is no agreement among scientists about
why we dream, there are many ideas about the different kinds of dreams we have.
One common kind of dream is the repeating dream, in which the same story
is repeated again and again, often for many months or even years. Some believe
these are a sign people have a problem in their life and once that problem
is gone then the dream will stop. Others think they are a way to help people
remember something very important.
Another well-known kind of dream is the nightmare. The pictures and stories in such dreams make people very afraid and dreamers usually remember them far more clearly than normal dreams. The cause of such dreams may be seeing something terrifying such as a car accident or some deadly snakes. Others think such dreams may be trying to make a person pay attention to something that is dangerous in their life.
Daydreams happen during wake-time when we forget where we are or what we are doing and find ourselves in a made-up story or until world. We often daydream when we are doing something that is not interesting or exciting. They help us think about our future.
Lucid dreams are the most fun. These happen when dreams suddenly understand that they are dreaming. Instead of waking up, they stay in the dream and are able to control what happens in the dream as if they are making a movie.

When people hunt for food, they use tools like guns and fishing rods. In the wild, animals have to catch their own food without tools. How do they do it? Animals have different ways of hunting, and some of them are very strange.
The archer fish lives in rivers in Southeast Asia. It catches and eats
insects that fly too near to the water. It has two different ways of hunting.
If the insect is less than a metre away, the archer fish jumps out of the water
and catches it. If the insect is between one and two metres away, the fish
hits it with water from its mouth.
Some animals use a sticky liquid or glue to hunt their prey(猎物). The velvet worm has two “glue guns”.It fires these at insects, and the glue comes out in strings about one metre long. When the glue touches the insect, it dries quickly and the insect is caught. The bowler spider also uses glue to catch insects. It has a little ball of glue on the end of a string. The string is stronger than metal. The spider throws the ball of glue at the insects.
Chameleons(变色龙) have very long, sticky tongues. In fact, a
chameleon’s tongue is longer than its body! When an insect flies too close,
the chameleon pushes its tongue out of its mouth to hit the insect and catch
it. The insect doesn’t usually see the chameleon’s ton gue because it
moves too quickly.
