1My Name is Lili and I am 10 Years Old. Today I Want to Talk About the English Exam Essay Questions for the Middle School Entrance Exam. This is a Very Important Test that Older Kids Have to Take. The Essay Part is Really Hard! The Essay Questions are Always About Some Big Topic. Like Last Year the Question Was "What is the Biggest Problem Facing the World Today?" The Year Before it Was "If You Could Travel Anywhere, Where Would You Go and Why?" See, they are Asking Kids to Write About Very Grown Up Kinds of Things!I Asked my Big Sister what She Thinks about these Essay Questions. She Just Finished Middle School and Had to Do the Essays. She Told me the Questions are Way Too Hard for Kids our Age. She Said "How can they Expect 12 Year Olds to Have Amazing Ideas about World Problems or to Dream Up Perfect Dream Vacations? It's Not Fair!"I Agree with my Sister. The Essay Questions are Too Difficult. They Should Give Questions that are More Suited for Kids. Like"What is Your Favorite Game and Why Do You Like It?" Or "If You Could Have Any Pet, What Would It Be?" Those Would be Much Easier to Write About. But I Actually have Some Other Suggestions Too for How to Make the English Essay Part Better:First, They Should Give Kids More Time. Right Now you Only get 40 Minutes for the Essay. That's Not Enough Time When the Question is Hard. I Think 60 Minutes Would be Better so Kids Don't Feel Rushed. Also, I Think They Should Let Kids Use Dictionaries for the Essay. Writing is Already So Difficult in Another Language. If Kids Could Use a Dictionary it Would Help Them a Lot with Vocabulary.Another Idea is They Could Show Some Example Essays First so Kids Know What a Good One Looks Like. Maybe They Could Even Show a Few at Different Levels so Kids Have a Model to Follow. And One More Thought - Why Does it Have to Be a Long Essay? Why Can't They Let Kids Do Something Different Like Write a Short Story or a Letter? That Would Make it More Interesting and Fun!Those are My Ideas about the English Essay Questions. I Know it's a Really Important Test but I Think if They Made Some Changes Like Easier Questions and More Time, it Would Help Kids Not Stress So Much. And Who Knows, Maybe We Would Even Have Fun Writing the Essays! What Does Everyone Else Think? Do You Agree the Essay Questions are Too Hard? Do You Like Any of My Suggestions or Do You Have Other Ideas? Let Me Know!篇2My Big Sis is Doing the Middle School English Exam!My big sister Jenny is in 9th grade and she is gonna take the BIG English exam this year! She calls it the "zhong kao" which I think means "middle test" in Chinese. It's a really important test for getting into a good high school. Jenny has been studying SO MUCH for it!The English part of the zhong kao has writing, reading, listening, and speaking sections. For the writing part, you have to write an essay about a certain topic. Jenny showed me some example essay topics and they seem kinda hard! I'll tell you about some of them. One topic was "If you could travel back in time, which period would you choose and why?" That's a cool idea but it would be kinda tough to write about. I'd probably want to go back to dinosaur times and see the huge lizard monsters! But I don't know if I could write a whole essay explaining all the reasons why. Seems challenging.Another topic was "Environmental protection is important. What are some ways we can better protect the environment?" Now that's a good one! I could write about recycling, using less plastic, planting trees, and driving less. Taking care of nature is super important so we can leave a nice planet for future kids. Here's another topic: "What qualities do you think a good teacher should have?" Ohh I have lots of thoughts on that one! A good teacher needs to be nice, patient, make learning fun, and explain things in a way kids can understand. They shouldn't yell or give too much homework either. My English teacher Mrs. Roberts is really great - I would write all about her!The last example I'll share is "Describe a special experience or memory that is important to you." Hmm I'm not sure what I'd write for that one. Maybe about the time I got my puppy Buddy? Or when we went to Disneyland last year? Those were both reallyhappy and special memories. I can see why it would be a good essay topic. No matter what the topic is, it will be hard work for Jenny to write a whole essay about it in English. She has been practicing essay writing a ton though. She makes outlines, writes drafts, has my parents proofread, and revises her work. I'm sure all that practice will pay off!The reading and listening sections of the zhong kao English exam seem pretty self-explanatory. You read some passages and answer comprehension questions. For listening, you hear recordings and answer what you understand. I'm sure there are tricks for doing well on those sections too.As for the speaking part, that actually sounds kinda fun! From what Jenny explained, you get shown a picture and have to describe it and answer questions about it. You record your responses speaking in English. I'd love to try that - I could tell awesome stories about any picture they showed me! I really admire how hard Jenny is working on speaking naturally in English.Overall, the English zhong kao seems like a major challenge, but also a good way to get seriously skilled at English writing, reading, listening, and speaking. I'll be cheering my big sis on forsure! Maybe I'll give her a gift certificate for ice cream when she finishes, to celebrate her hard work.I hope sharing these example essay topics and explaining the different exam sections was interesting! The zhong kao is a huge deal in China. All students work extremely hard to do their best. While it's just a test, preparing for it helps build important language skills. I have a few more years until I take it myself. By then, maybe you could give me a few tips!篇3Middle School English Exam Essay Questions Are Tough!Hey guys! It's me again, your pal Jimmy. Today I wanted to talk to you about the middle school English exam essay questions. Whoa, just saying that made me feel a little nervous! Those essay prompts are no joke. But don't worry, I'm going to share some tips that will hopefully make them a little less scary.First, let me give you some examples of the types of questions they might ask on the English essay part of the exam. One prompt I've seen is "What are the most important qualities of a good friend? Use examples to explain your answer." Yikes, right? How are we supposed to know what makes a good friend at our age? I'm still trying to figure that out myself!Another question could be something like "If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?" Hmm, that one doesn't sound too bad. We could just pick our favorite vacation spot and explain why we like it so much. Maybe talk about the cool activities there or the yummy food. Easy peasy! But then they could really throw us a curveball with a question like "What invention from the past 100 years do you think has been most important for society? Explain your reasoning." Oof, now that one is tricky! How are kids our age supposed to know about important inventions and their impacts?I can barely remember to grab my lunchbox in the morning!Okay, okay, I'm getting a little ahead of myself here. Those are just some sample questions to show you how challenging these essay prompts can be on the big middle school English test. But don't panic! I've got your back with some awesome strategies.First tip: Read the question allllll the way through very slowly and carefully. Like, read it twice to make sure you totally understand what it's asking. There's nothing worse than misreading the prompt and completely missing the point. Trust me, I've done that on math tests more times than I can count!Next pro tip: Before you put pencil to paper, take a minute to plan out your answer in your head or maybe jot down some notes or an outline. Decide on your main points and examples you want to use. Having a roadmap for your essay will make the whole writing process much smoother.Another good strategy is to hook the reader right away with an interesting opening sentence. Maybe ask a question, tell a personal story, or use a funny joke to grab their attention. Then you can seamlessly transition into stating your main thesis or position on the topic. Keep your introductory paragraph simple but compelling! For the body paragraphs, make sure you are clearly explaining your reasoning and backing it up with plenty of concrete examples or evidence. Don't just state your opinion and move on. The graders will be looking for those examples to show you can support your claims. Use transition words like "for instance," "additionally," and "in other words" to smoothly connect your thoughts. When you get to the conclusion, restate your main points one last time in a fresh way. You can also toss in some final thoughts or turn it into a broader statement about the importance of the topic. Avoid just lamely repeating yourself orsuddenly introducing new ideas. The conclusion should wrap it all up in a neat little package!I know, I know, it still sounds really tough. And you're right, it definitely is challenging. But you know what? I have faith that you've got this! Just take it step-by-step, use the strategies we discussed, and pour your heart into it. At the end of the day, the graders just want to see your brilliant thoughts and hard work. And remember, writing is a process. Even adult authors don't whip out perfect essays on their first draft. It takes lots of practice, revising, editing, and perseverance. So don't get discouraged if your first attempt isn't stellar. Just keep chugging along and improving each time! Before I sign off, I want to remind you of one more thing: Have fun with it! Sure, it's a really important exam essay. But you can still try to make it interesting or personal. Maybe add a dash of your goofy humor or creative flair. Treating it like a big ol' chore will only make it more painful. Embrace the challenge!Phew, we covered a lot of ground today! I hope these topic examples and tips have helped demystify and prepare you for those pesky middle school English essay prompts. You're all such smart, capable kids. With the right strategy and mindset, you've got this in the bag! Now, who's ready to start prewriting and outlining? Just kidding! Why don't we all take a snack break first? Gummy bears, anyone?篇4Middle School English Exam Essay Questions and SuggestionsHey friends! Andy here to talk about the big English exam called the "zhong kao" that middle school students have to take. It's a really important test that helps decide what kind of high school you can go to. The English part has an essay section where you have to write a whole paper about a certain topic. Sounds hard, right? Don't worry, I've got some tips to help you out!The first thing you need to know is what kind of questions they might ask you to write about. The test people like to give you opinion topics where you have to say if you agree or disagree with something. Like maybe they'll say "Some people think watching too much TV is bad for kids. What do you think?" Then you have to write a whole essay explaining your opinion with examples and reasons.Another type of question they love is asking you to discuss an issue or problem, and then give your ideas on how to solve it or make it better. For example, they could say "Environmental pollution is a big problem in many cities. What are some causes of pollution and what can be done to reduce it?" For these, you'll need to describe the problem, explain why it's happening, and then give your solutions.Sometimes they'll even ask you to choose between two options and convince the reader which one is better. Like "Some students prefer to go to a school close to home, while others would rather go to a better school farther away. Which would you choose and why?" You'd have to pick a side and use facts and examples to show why your choice is the smart one.No matter what kind of question you get, there are some tricks that can help you write a great essay. First, make sure you plan out your paper before you start writing the real thing. Jot down an outline with your main ideas, supporting points, and examples you want to use. Having a roadmap makes the writing part go much smoother. When you start the essay itself, be sure to have a solid introduction that restates the question and previews what your paper will be about. Use transition words like "firstly","additionally", and "in conclusion" to connect your ideas and keep things organized. Most importantly, back up your opinions and arguments using specific details, facts, data, personal experiences, quotes from experts, and other evidence from reliable sources. Don't just say "Pollution is really bad." Give real examples like "Last year over 4 million tons of plastic waste ended up in the world's oceans, harming marine life."Using descriptive language and varied vocabulary is another way to boost your score. Don't just repeat the same simple words over and over. Get that thesaurus out and wow the graders! Instead of saying something is "good", describe it as "beneficial, advantageous, or favorable."On the other hand, don't go overboard with fancy words you don't really understand. Graders can always tell when you're trying too hard. Write in a natural way while still showing off your English skills. Finally, wrap up your essay with a solid conclusion that restates your main points and leaves the reader convinced you made a strong case. Remind them why your view is the right one based on the evidence you provided.Writing a timed essay on an assigned topic is definitely a challenge, but if you practice these tips, you can sail through the English exam zhong kao with no problem! Just stay calm, organize your thoughts, and let your awesome English skills shine through. You've got this! Those are my suggestions for tackling the English essay prompts on the big zhong kao test. With some preparation and my advice in mind, you'll be more than ready to write a stellar essay that'll blow those graders away. Now get studying and kick some zhong kao essay butt!篇5Topic: What is the Most Fun Thing to Do After School? After school is the best time! When the bell rings, I jump up so excited to be done with classes for the day. There are so many fun things we can do once school is over.My favorite thing is to go outside and play sports or games with my friends. We have a basketball hoop in my driveway, so sometimes we play basketball. Other times we'll play tag or hide-and-seek in the neighborhood. Running around and being active is a blast after sitting at our desks all day.If the weather is nice, we might go to the park near my house. They have swings, a seesaw, monkey bars, and more fun playground stuff. I love going down the big twisty slide! We also sometimes take our bikes, scooters or skateboards to the park and ride around. Just being outdoors in the sunshine feels so freeing. When I can't go outside for some reason, I really enjoy playing video games. All my friends love games too, so we'll get online together and play co-op games or battle each other. Games with puzzle levels or adventure stories are super engaging and fun to talk about. Of course, we also love games with lots of action and bright graphics. Mom has to set a timer though or we'd play all night!Board games and puzzles are another awesome indoor activity for after school. My family has tons of classic games like Monopoly, Life, Guess Who?, Connect Four and more. Puzzles with 500-1000 pieces that show cool sceneries or patterns are really satisfying to put together bit by bit. These games create such a nice peaceful time just hanging out together. Plus, I get to show off my strategic skills that always blow my parents' minds!Reading is one of my favorite activities no matter what time it is, but it feels especially cozy after school. I'll curl up in mybeanbag chair or under a fort of blankets with a stack of books. Comics, fantasy novels, mysteries - I'll read any story that grabs me! If I read for a while before doing homework, the reading helps get my brain going. Finally, I really enjoy doing crafts and creating things after school. Grabbing art supplies like colored pencils, paints, clay and more to make drawings, pottery, jewelry and other crafty projects is so therapeutic after a long day of academics. When I'm making something, I can totally zone out and relax. Plus my creations make great gifts for friends and family! So those are some of my preferred after-school activities. No matter what I choose to do, the freedom to pick how I spend my time makes the after-school hours precious and golden. As long as I get a small break between school and homework, I'm a happy kid! What's your favorite after-school activity?篇6Middle School English Exam Essays Are No Joke!Hi friends! Today I want to talk to you about the English essay part of the middle school entrance exam. I know, I know, it sounds really boring. But trust me, it's super important if youwant to get into a good middle school. And who doesn't want that? The English essay is probably the hardest part of the whole test. At least for me it is. You have to write a whole essay, like a mini book report or something, all in English! Can you believe it? When I first heard about it, I was like "No way, José!" But my teacher says it's really not that bad once you get the hang of it.The biggest thing is that you have to be able to write clearly and with hardly any mistakes. The teachers grading the essays are super picky about grammar, spelling, vocabulary, all that stuff. It's kind of annoying, but I get why it's important if you want to show you're good at English writing.Another hard part is coming up with ideas and examples to put in your essay. The topics are usually pretty general, like "My Favorite Book" or "How I Spent My Summer Vacation." You have to take that basic prompt and turn it into a whole 5 paragraph essay! That's like 300-400 words at least. Crazy, right? My teacher says the key is planning before you start writing. Make an outline, jot down your main ideas, maybe a few examples you want to use. That way when you start writing, you'll have a roadmap to follow instead of just winging it. Smart advice for sure. You also have to watch out for the time limit. For the English essay, I think you only get like 40-50 minutes max. That's not much time at all to write a whole essay! So you have to budget your time carefully – spend maybe 5-10 minutes planning, 30 minutes writing, and 5-10 minutes proofreading at the end. My teacher is always nagging us about time management. The good news is, the essay topics are usually pretty straightforward. As long as you have a basic grasp of English writing skills, you should be okay. Just don't go crazy trying to use tons of fancy vocabulary you don't really know. That's a recipe for disaster. Here are some tips my teacher gave our class that I'll pass along:Practice, practice, practice! The more sample essays you write, the better you'll get at organizing your thoughts and watching your time.Read, read, read! Read books, short stories, articles, anything to build up your English vocabulary and get used to different writing styles. The more you feed your brain, the easier it'll be to write.Learn common essay structures and formulas. Most essays follow a basic 5 paragraph format – intro, 3 body paragraphs, conclusion. If you can master that formula, you're halfway there.Get plenty of rest the night before and eat a good breakfast the day of the test. You need to be totally focused and energized when writing that essay!Stay positive! Don't psych yourself out. If you've prepared well, you'll do just fine.So there you have it, the inside scoop on middle school English essay exams! I know it sounds kind of intimidating, but just take it step-by-step and you'll be okay. And hey, think of how impressed your parents will be when you write an amazing essay!Anyways, I should get going. I have a mountain of English homework to do (ugh!) so I can keep practicing for that scary essay. Let me know if you have any other questions! Good luck, study hard, and maybe I'll see you in middle school next year!。
