spiritual, cannot be overestimated. Nearly every decision we make is directly linked to the use and availability of water.

Water reveals everything. Its abundance is an indicator of social development. Its lack is an indicator of poverty. Water is presently one of the five highest concerns of the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization, which pioneered efforts to provide a scientific basis for evaluating global water resources.
