First, look for color. Some minerals are light in color,...

.Some minerals shine brightly.Others may look smooth.Still others may have shining luster, like the inside of some seashells.

Third, look for how the mineral breaks apart.

答案 A

例and if the teacher uses it carefully, the children can understand it.

E.Because they are interested in the story

In Japan, people d on’t usually wear their outdoor shoes in the house or at school, and a lot of buildings have places for shoes. So her school has a special place for shoes.

A.It’s a shoebox.

B.Tina is my sister.

C.So she put on the shoes and left.

D.After class she got ready to leave.

E.But there was no name on the note.

解析选项A中It 指代 a special place for shoes,所以选A。

Now students’ English handwriting(书写)gets worse and worse. That makes their teachers feel worried. Is your English handwriting beautiful? 1

Use paper with lines

When you write English words or sentences, you can use paper with lines. That will make your handwriting straight. 2Be sure to fill the lined space completely. And make sure those capital letters(大写字母)are written properly.

Slow down

If your writing is hard to read, just slow down a little. 3If you write too quickly, it’s hard for you to stop where you should, and you may make more mistakes easily.

4

When you hold your pencil in the correct way, writing is much better. Some kids press down really hard when they write. That makes the handwriting bad. Try to be relaxed and don’t hold the pencil so hard. Let your writing appear nice and clean. If you do so, people will guess you are a student with a good habit.

Draw more pictures

5While you are drawing pictures, you need to use the skills to control(控制)your pencil better. Even though you have no chance to draw at school, you can practice by drawing at home.

Handwriting is very important. Imagine you are a famous movie star or a well-known sports player, what do you do when your fans run up to you? Give them your autographs(亲笔签名), of course!

Is there a connection between music and language? According to recent studies, the answer is yes:1Here, we look at two examples.

A recent study by researcher Kraus shows that playing a musical instrument can improve a person’s hearing ability. 2The people in the first group were musicians, while those in the second group had no musical training. The musicians were able to hear the talking person more clearly.

3Think about violinists in an orchestra(管弦乐团). When the violinists play with the group, they hear their own instrument and many others, too. But the violinists must listen closely to what they are playing, and pay no attention to the other sounds. In this way, musicians are able to focus on certain sounds, even in a room with lots of noise.

Schlaug, a doctor at Harvard Medical School, works with stroke(中风) patients. Because of their illness, these people cannot say their names, addresses, or other information normally. However, they can still sing.4Why does this work? Schlaug isn’t sure. Music seems to make different parts of the brain work, including the damaged(损坏的)parts. This might help patients to use that part of the brain again.

Music improves concentration(注意力),memory, listening skills, and our overall language abilities.5 Playing an instrument or singing can help us do better in school and keep our brain sharp(敏锐的)as we get older. Music is not only enjoyable, it’s also good for us in many other ways.

4.【答案】F

【解析】与Schlaug 和they can still sing相一致的是F项。

5.【答案】A

Amsterdam is one of the most crowded cities in Europe. As a result, housing is very expensive, especially for students.2However,finding this type of apartments was almost impossible until recently.

While the colleges in Amsterdam were trying to solve the housing problem, thousands of shipping containers(集装箱) were lying quietly in ports(港口) around the world. These huge steel containers carry products from one country to another. The life of each container is about 10 years.3Yet they can’t recycle all of them because there are so many.

Back in Amsterdam,a company came up with an amazing idea. Why not reuse these shipping containers as student apartments?4They are all the same size and fit together perfectly. The steel is strong. Moreover, these containers are so widely available that they are quite cheap to buy.For all these reasons, they can be used to build

apartments quickly and cheaply.Building began in 2005,and after only a few weeks, hundreds of Amsterdam students had new homes.

When students first heard about this idea, they thought the container apartments would be small, noisy, and cold. 5Each container apartment has a kitchen,a bedroom with a study area, and a bathroom. The apartments are warm and quiet. They even have a high-speed Internet connection.Living in a shipping container has become popular.Today, over 3,000 Amsterdam students live in the container village.

The Earth is 4.5 billion years old, but the human race has lived on it for just 200,000 years. In that short time, we have achieved some amazing things.

Finally, we must not forget humans’ early achievements.4We can’t imagine modern life without cooked food and cars.

How much physical activity do you do in a week? Are you getting enough exercise? 1For example, people who exercise regularly are less likely to suffer from many diseases. Regular exercise reduces the risk of early death by 30%. It also improves your sleep quality.

Today, most adults are much less active than in the past because our jobs are far less physical than the work our grandparents used to do. 2This lack of regular physical activity means people burn fewer calories than in the past, so we need to do something to consume(消耗)our energy. Experts think adults need to do 2.5 hours of moderate exercise per week. 3

Exercise can be expensive, but it doesn’t have to be. Team sports such as football can be cheap because all the players share the cost of the field. 4It can also be very social.

If you don’t want to spend any money, try one of the following activities. Go for a run. The only equipme nt you need is a pair of running shoes. If you take the bus, try getting off one stop early and walking the extra distance. Go to the park. 5You can play different kinds of games there. This is a great way to involve family members and friends.

In short, there are many easy ways of keeping fit. If we all recognize the value of doing this, we will live

This year 2,300 teenagers from all over the world will spend about ten months in US homes. They will attend US schools, meet US teenagers, and form impressions of America. 1They will learn new languages and gain a new understanding of the rest of the world.

2Fred, nineteen, spent last year in Germany with George’s family. In turn, George’s son Mike spent a year in F red’s home in America.

Fred, a lively young man, knew little German when he arrived, but after two months’ study, the language began to come to him. 3Students rose respectfully when the teacher entered the room. They took fourteen subjects instead of the six that are usual in the United States. There were almost no outside activities.

4The father’s word was law, and all activities were around the family rather than one of the members. Fred found the food too simple at first. Also, he missed having a car.

“Back home, you pick up some friends in a car and go out and have a good time. In Germany, you walk, but you soon learn to like it.”

Meanwhile, in America, Mike, a German boy, was also forming his idea. “I suppose I should criticize( 批评) American s chools,” he said. “It is far too easy by our level. 5In Germany we do nothing but study. Here we take part in many outside activities. I think that maybe your schools are better in training for citizens. There should be some middle ground between the two.”

“When I was your age, there weren’t any computers or video games. And I didn’t get a bike until I was sixteen. And it was second-hand. 2”

So, is it really true that life is better for teenagers now?It is certainly true that many teenagers have got more things nowadays. 3So parents have got more money to spend on each child. And many things are cheaper than they were when our parents were children.

如附(1)空__61__. __63__. _64__. 再看段落中还有“face in this way”,所以,排除E,正确答案是D。_64_.

When the car "sees" an obstacle(障碍物), it sends this information to a data center and receives instructions, However, it will be some time before it sends and receives this information. With this kind of lag, the cars might crash because they don't receive instructions in time. With 5G, this lag will be greatly lowered, making the cars safer. 5G could also be used to power the internet of things (IoT), that is, a large online network that connects all things and people. Fast internet speeds will be the key to developing this technology. The IoT could be used in a lot of ways. For example, with IoT, your refrigerator could automatically (自动地) place an order online for eggs when it finds that there are no eggs left inside. (1)Which city was 5G tested for the first time? A. Beijing. B. Shanghai. C. Shenzhen. (2)What can we infer(推测) according to the passage?. A. 5G is widely used in China now. B. 5G networks will make our lives more convenient. C.
