Everything smelled so clean and earthy.One day we went on a long hike and at the end were rewarded with the most spectacular view I had ever seen. We were standing on top of a big rock overlooking a huge, crystal clear mountain lake surrounded by towering peaks covered in pine trees. The water was a beautiful shade of blue-green that seemed to glow in the afternoon sunlight. I felt so tiny and insignificant looking out at the vastness of nature's beauty all around me. It was magical and peaceful all at the same time.Our last adventure before heading home was whitewater rafting down a rushing river. We had to wear bulky life jackets and helmets but it was so worth it! Our guide coached us on how to paddle together as a team to steer through the choppy rapids. We crashed through walls of whitewater getting completely drenched. At one point we got stuck on a rock and had to push off using our paddles. My heart was pounding with a mix of adrenaline and sheer excitement the whole time. It was like a real-life rollercoaster but even better!After two months of vacations filled with beach relaxation, city excitement, and mountain adventures, it was time to head back home. Part of me was sad for the fun to end, but I also feltso lucky to have experienced so many amazing new places and activities.
