The most commonly used financial document is bill of exchange, or draft. A bill of exchange is a written, unconditional order by one party, the seller ( or the seller’s bank ) to another, the buyer ( or the buyer’s bank ) to pay a certain sum, either immediately (a sight bill /draft) or on a fixed date (a term bill /draft), for contract value. When the deal is settled by D/P at sight or sight L/C, a sight draft is involved. That means the buyer or buyer’s bank pays upon seeing the bill.
