‘The God must be Crazy’ ReviewThe Bushmen, who is still in the period of primitive hunting society, without all consciousness and conflicts, lives a happy and self-sufficient life. Kate is one of them. He regards everything in the world as a gift from God, so everything is a sacred and noble saint. Naturally, he takes a CocaCola bottle which is dropped by people from Western civilized area and can be seen everywhere far away from there about 600 miles as a gift from their loving God. At the same time, 600 miles away from there, people are in smokeless war at all times fighting for honor and interests, reactionaries also lunching an armed struggle by having openly attraction to the president.Like Chaplin’s pantomime, full of joy and fun, Kate, who is from primitive civilization, come into a collision with modern civilization, so the comedy shows. Kate was convicted by hunting a sheep while he doesn't know what is a crime, then he was involved in the war between British and American soldier unconsciously while he still doesn't know why there is a gun, and when he is rescuing his villagers, he still can’t understand why the tools which is used to hunt is used to kill or rescue people.Compared to those pure tribal leaders, our civilization gains electricity, car and guns while we lost kind, sincere and unity. We are selfish, violence and narrow although the original purpose of human to promote social progress was to enjoy a more comfortable life. Kate’s travel gives an intersection of two civilizations, and the mutual intersection of two separate parallel lines makes me feel unease and shame. In the film, we can see that all brought by ‘civilization’ is the conflicts for power, war and hostilities between people. So how can we reflect on to ensure the progress of modern civilization. However, we all know that modern civilization gives people a harder way which is full of living pressure and mental stress. Some people who is easily overwhelmed by life would prefer their childhood, so they do not cherish their own life at all. Other people are on the way of escaping the life burden, just like a super man out of world. In contrast, the Kalahari where Kate lives in is the last Pure Land of human spirit in the world. The lovely Bushmen is a quite tribe who is not only pure, simple, kind and persistent but also stay far away from jealousy, hatred and fight. They get up when sun rises and go to sleep at sunset. There is no trouble, no worries, and no burden, and it would always make us feel what a clean race they are! In this film, there is a description on Bushmen: In the Kalahari, you can do whatever you like. If you are happy, everyday id Sunday since there is no need to determine your schedule by a clock or calendar.Kalahari is a place where there is no ups and downs of plots, where there is no bloody tragic, and where there are only shaking-hands opponents. It is a place where humans and animals can live in harmony, where the bad guys from the outside world can get punished finally, where there is less bloody even guns exists when it comes to war, and where the romantic story are told. In there, life, emotion, moral and civilization are blended in the desire of a harmonious society. In there, we across the civilization, the race and languages. However, there is no such a civilization that can remove the gap between good and evil, or even thebasic pursuit of survival. It is commonly believed that out civilization is very great, at the same time, we also have ignored a lot of elements when it comes to spirits, and this film is worthy of our reflection. Sceneries in this film are very impressive, just like the honest Bushman, they are very lovely and share mutual care and help with their villagers. There are a lot of good characters we can learn from this film, and this film gives a perfect performance of it.The hero and heroine in this film can be seen as the two outstanding representatives of modern civilization. Their stories start from the mutual help between hero and heroine in an unfamiliar environment, and then they slowly acquainted and become friends with each other. All of this film shows us a feeling of happy, enjoyable, and calm when facing troubles, which highlight the heroic doctrine; males are born to protect females. Therefore, the good characters of Bushman are well shown on this film. The simple and kind people in primitive tribes get along with each other, and this is a kind of ideally idyllic life which is nearly ideal environment. However, we can know from the film that a serious trouble are brought since Kate can't communicate with the outside world. It leaves us a question to reflect on: how can they maintain their own good traditions while blending into the ever-changing world? On the one hand, it is undeniable that we can’t stop the pace of civilized progress, on the other hand, it is wrong to make modern civilization become a sharp weapon of burning human beings. Therefore, we need to keep our human nature while human beings are becoming more civilized. What is civilization? It is God. Throughout the modern civilization, do we really have the God in our messed heart? When our heart are messed by growing materials, technologies and dust, we make the world a fight for resources, a war full of smoke, a disorder of history and a prevalence of hegemonic power. The God is not crazy, and he is a road of roses with thorns for a person on his/her way to pursuit a better li fe, a robber for a country on the government’s to gain state power. However, everything in the world are moving forward at its own pace in the end.。

living without bottlesUnder the auspices of Nixau, not an illustrious African actor who played as a starring role in the film The gods must be crazy, the film has created an unprecedented sensation and won rave reviews since its first shooting in 1980. Impressed and intrigued by the haunting and humorous plots projected by the movie, I‟m definitely of the opinion that it is a comedy with epiphany since I have genuinely derived the essence of life from it.(介绍电影的亮点来吸引读者)The Kalahari Desert, with its treacherous and harsh environment, is devoid of people. The only residents there are a crop of rustic and austere people, the Bushmen. They lead a simple yet vibrant life in their own “paradise”. However, a bottle dropping from the civilized world encroached upon peaceful and complacent family life. In the wake of discovering its various facilities, they began to scramble for it to satiate their own needs, thus stirring anger, jealousy, hate and violence. Therefore, Xi, the first person who had found the bottle decided to throw this …evil thing‟ to the end of the world. In the course of his journey, he came across Andrew Steyn and Kate Thompson who eventually fell in love with each other. Meanwhile, a brutalSambo ga‟s gang was subdued by Mr Steyn with the help of Xi.(summary of the movie)It is plausible that this comedy film is sheerly a good expression! This film directly demonstrates its positive and pleasant dimensions to its viewers. Indeed, this film is imbued with comic elements. I was amazed when Xi had misgivings about how such a small bottle on the telescope could have a capacity of so many people. I was bursting into laughter the moment Mr Steyn steered towards the fence which blocked his way and he responded awkwardly in the presence of Mrs Thompson, trying to pick up the bottles falling from the table. I was giggling when Jack drove away his bus under which lurked Xi and Mpudi to elude the beast chasing after him. However, that is far from enough. It is true that the aesthetic effect of a comedy is laugh, which is the part and parcel of the whole movie, but it is not the whole story, the moral lying behind the laugh is the essence of the comedy。

Crazy Gods 1: A Review"Gods Must Be Crazy," directed by Jamie Uys, is a hilarious South African film that was released in 1980. The film showcases the collision of two vastly different worlds: the traditional, simplistic lifestyle of an African tribe and the modern, complex reality of the western society. As a comedy, the movie uses satire and absurdity to explore human behavior and cultural clashes. The basic storyline revolves around Xi, a member of the San tribe, who encounters a Coca-Cola bottle that falls from the sky. The San people, who have never seen modern technology, believe the bottle to be a gift from the gods. However, as the bottle creates chaos within the tribe, Xi decides to embark on a journey to return the bottle to the gods, thinking it is the cause of their troubles. The film is primarily set in the Kalahari Desert, providing a stunning backdrop to the comedic adventure. The serene landscape contrasts with the hilarious antics of the characters, creating a unique visual experience. The cinematography captures the vastness and beauty of the African wilderness, heightening the impact of the absurdity that ensues. The comedic elements in "Gods Must Be Crazy" are derived from the collision of cultures and the misunderstandings that arise. The film takes a playful approach to issues such as technology, materialism, and communication. It satirizes the western world's obsession with material possessions and highlights the simplicity and contentment of the San tribe'sway of life. The slapstick humor and exaggerated performances add to the overall comic effect of the movie. One of the most memorable aspects of the film is the humor derived from language barriers. The San people communicate through a series of clicks, making it difficult for them to understand modern languages. This leads to hilarious misinterpretations and misunderstandings between the San tribe and the outsiders they encounter. The film's use of physical comedy and visual gags enhances the comedic effect of these language barriers.Furthermore, the film touches upon the concept of greed and its destructive consequences. As various characters encounter the Coca-Cola bottle, they become obsessed with possessing it, leading to conflicts and chaos. The satire in the film is aimed at highlighting the absurdity of materialism and the destructive nature of human greed."Gods Must Be Crazy" also explores the themes of unity and harmony. Despite the cultural differences, the film emphasizes the importance of understanding and cooperation between people from different backgrounds. As Xi embarks on his journey to return the bottle, he encounters characters from various cultural backgrounds, highlighting the potential for unity and mutual respect. The film's success can be attributed to the exceptional performances of its cast, particularly Nǃxau ǂToma as Xi. His portrayal of the innocent and naive tribal member adds authenticity to the film. The rest of the cast members also deliver commendable performances, contributing to the overall comedic effect and believability of the story. In conclusion, "Gods Must Be Crazy" is a comedy that uses humor to explore cultural clashes, materialism, and the destructive nature of human greed. The film's unique blend of satire, physical comedy, and absurdity creates an engaging and entertaining viewing experience. Its memorable characters, stunning cinematography, and thought-provoking themes continue to captivate audiences to this day. So, if you are looking for a light-hearted comedy that provides food for thought, "Gods Must Be Crazy" is a must-watch.。

English:"The movie 'Oh My God' presents a satirical and thought-provoking perspective on religion, faith, and human nature. Through the comedic portrayal of an ordinary man who suddenly gains the ability to communicate with God, the film delves into the complexities of belief systems, the power dynamics within religious institutions, and the way people interpret and use spirituality for personal gain or control. The protagonist's journey from skepticism to awe and eventually to a deeper understanding of the essence of faith is both entertaining and enlightening. The film skillfully navigates between humor and depth, raising important questions about the role of religion in contemporary society and the blurred lines between genuine spirituality and religious fanaticism. It challenges viewers to reflect on their own beliefs, biases, and the impact of organized religion on individuals and communities. Overall, 'Oh My God' serves as a comedic yet profound exploration of the human quest for meaning and connection with the divine."

1The movie "The Gods Must Be Crazy" offers a captivating exploration of cultural conflicts and fusions. The protagonist's journey between the primitive tribe and the modern society serves as a vivid illustration of the clashes and blends of different cultures. For instance, when the protagonist steps into the modern world from the tribal setting, the stark contrast in values and ways of life becomes immediately apparent. The simplicity and harmony of the tribal life are juxtaposed with the complexity and chaos of modern civilization.Different characters in the film hold diverse attitudes towards modernity. Some are awed and fascinated by the technological advancements, while others are skeptical and wary. This diversity of perspectives intensifies the exploration of the theme. The film showcases how cultural misunderstandings can lead to comical and sometimes serious situations. However, it also reveals the potential for mutual understanding and accommodation. It reminds us that while cultural differences exist, there is always common ground to be found. In conclusion, "The Gods Must Be Crazy" is not just a source of entertainment but a profound reflection on the dynamics of culturalinteractions. It encourages us to embrace diversity and strive for harmony in a world full of contrasts.2The movie "The Gods Must Be Crazy" offers us a profound perspective on the pros and cons of human civilization's development. It presents a stark contrast between the simplicity and tranquility of the primitive tribe and the complexity and chaos of the modern world. The intrusion of modern technology into the lives of the tribal people brings about both changes and challenges. For instance, the introduction of a Coca-Cola bottle, which was initially seen as a novelty, soon turns into a source of conflict and strife within the tribe. This small example showcases how something that is considered an advancement in the civilized world can disrupt the harmony and balance of a primitive society. From the fate of the characters in the movie, we can also reflect on the impact of the civilization process on individuals. The protagonist, who embarks on a journey to throw away the "evil" bottle, experiences numerous adventures and encounters. His original peaceful life is disrupted, and he is forced to confront the unfamiliar and often bewildering aspects of the outside world. This shows that the march of civilization, while bringing conveniences and improvements, may also uproot and disorient those who were previously living in isolation and simplicity. In conclusion, the movie prompts us to question whether thedevelopment of human civilization is truly an unmitigated blessing. It urges us to consider the importance of preserving the essence of humanity and the natural order in the pursuit of progress. Only by finding a balance can we ensure that the benefits of civilization are shared by all and do not come at the cost of destroying the beauty and integrity of different cultures and ways of life.3The movie "The Gods Must Be Crazy" presents a profound reflection on the relationship between human beings and nature. In the film, the primitive tribe shows great reverence and dependence on nature. They live in harmony with the environment, using only what nature provides and never taking more than necessary. For them, nature is not something to be exploited but a source of life to be respected and protected. In contrast, modern society seems to have lost this connection with nature. We constantly索取resources without considering the consequences, leading to environmental degradation and ecological imbalance. The forests are disappearing, rivers are polluted, and species are becoming extinct. The natural environment in the movie also has a significant impact on the characters' behaviors and destinies. In the wild, they have to adapt to the harsh conditions and follow the rules of nature to survive. This shows that we are not the masters of nature but a part of it.We should learn from the wisdom of the primitive tribe and realize that only by respecting and protecting nature can we ensure a sustainable future for ourselves and the generations to come. Let's stop the crazy exploitation and start to restore the balance with nature.4The movie "The Gods Must Be Crazy" offers a profound exploration of human nature, presenting a complex tapestry of both good and evil. In the film, we witness characters facing crucial choices between personal gain and moral integrity. Take, for instance, the character who discovers a valuable treasure but is torn between keeping it for himself and doing the right thing by returning it to its rightful owner. This internal conflict showcases the battle within human hearts, where the temptation of wealth clashes with the voice of conscience. The protagonist, too, undergoes numerous inner struggles throughout the story. When faced with difficult situations, they are often forced to confront their own fears and desires. Sometimes, they waver and are drawn towards the darker aspects of their nature, perhaps considering actions that are morally questionable. However, it is in these moments of turmoil that the glimmers of humanity's goodness shine through. They ultimately make choices that uphold justice and kindness, revealing the strength of the moral compass within. This film reminds us that human nature is not black and white but ablend of various shades. It is a constant struggle between the forces of good and evil, and it is through these battles that our true character is revealed. We all have the capacity for both kindness and selfishness, and it is up to us to consciously choose the path that leads to the betterment of ourselves and those around us.5The movie "The Gods Must Be Crazy" is not merely a comedy but a profound reflection of social issues. It subtly presents various problems, such as those related to race, class, and gender. For instance, the interactions among different ethnic groups in the film hint at underlying racial tensions and misunderstandings. The disparity in living conditions and opportunities among characters of different classes also becomes evident, raising questions about social inequality. When it comes to gender issues, although not explicitly stated, the roles and expectations assigned to male and female characters reveal traditional stereotypes that deserve critical examination. The comedy elements in the movie play a crucial role in attracting the audience's attention and making them think about these serious topics in a relaxed manner. The humorous situations and witty dialogues do not merely aim to evoke laughter but also serve as a gentle nudge for viewers to ponder over the darker aspects of society. In conclusion, "The Gods Must Be Crazy" is a masterpiece that usescomedy as a veil to uncover and prompt reflection on the profound social problems that often go unnoticed in our daily lives. It reminds us that beneath the surface of laughter lies a world of complexity and injustice that demands our attention and efforts to change.。

Title: God Also Goes CrazyIn a small village nestled deep within the African wilderness, there lived a humble tribe known as the Kalahari. They led simple lives, relying on nature for sustenance and finding joy in their communal traditions. One day, news arrived that a plane flying overhead had dropped a mysterious object—a Coca-Cola bottle. This seemingly innocuous event sparked chaos and curiosity among the Kalahari people. The bottle, a foreign object unlike anything they had seen before, became both a source of fascination and conflict. Some saw it as a gift from the gods, while others viewed it as a dangerous and disruptive force. The tribe's elder, Xixo, known for his wisdom and calm demeanor, took it upon himself to understand and manage this unexpected intrusion. He embarked on a journey across the vast savanna, encountering various comedic and dramatic situations as he sought to return the bottle to its rightful owner.Meanwhile, the bottle continued to wreak havoc in the village, leading to humorous misunderstandings and mishaps. It became a symbol of the clash between tradition and modernity, highlighting the absurdities and complexities of cultural encounters.Through laughter and tears, the Kalahari people learned valuable lessons about acceptance, resilience, and the interconnectedness of their world with the larger global community. In the end, the story of the Coca-Cola bottle became a testament to the resilience of human spirit and the enduring power of community bonds.

Class: Name:Date: Ps. 《The God Must Be Crazy》The God Must Be CrazyThe Gods Must Be Crazy is a South African comedy film written and directed by Jamie Uys. Originally released in 1980, the film is the first in The Gods Must Be Crazy series of films. Set in Botswana, it tells the story of Xi, a Sho of the Kalahari Desert (played by Namibian San farmer Nǃxau) whose band has no knowledge of the world beyond.。

The God-given bottle is the main clue of the first story. It seems that the so called civilized modern living is right the satirized object——people in the prosperous city drive several miles from home to post a letter. In the whole film, the fierce but silent collision between the civilized and the uncivilized make us burst into laughter but then draw us to the deep contemplation. What is funny? Or Which side is funny? May be both, but it remains to be find out by the time. For the aboriginal, they reckon the modern people master the magic but when they lose their magic weapon they cannot live any longer. It is right the “magic”makes drive the civilized man to study for several scores of years to know how to use their magic and live. They are not so happy in proportion with the magic they get, from the angle of an onlooker as the watcher. The magic bring them with convenience butmeanwhile complexity. In contrast, the aboriginal’s whole family keeps happy always and when it comes to the harvest season, the whole family will collect the fruit with sing and song. Their living is so simple ,but so happy. The bottle story also reminds me of the book I have recently read 《Walden》,written by Henry David Thoreau. Before the bottle come to their world, the whole tribe lives jollily, respect the old and cherish the young, the feel content about what they have got , and keeps grateful for the God. When the bottle, as the boon and the all-purpose tool, comes into their livings, it changed all in a sudden——brotherhood no longer exists, children fight with each other with this most hard boon from “God”: neighborhood no longer sustain, two women will fight with each other in the snatch of this all-purpose tools. There is no longer laughter and chat around their small tent and the warm bonfire. We civilized human-beings are in the same situation, isn’t it? If a little bottle will bring so many complexity and evil things, let alone the prosperous civilization we have got and creating. The facts of the modern life has proved all the things we have reckoned. Just as the author Thoreau of 《Walden》said we don’t have to try to get much more things we need, we only need to get what we need and make a good living. We don’t have to spent all our times to earn the superfluous stuffs to store in our oversize house. There is no end of a good living, we have already got what we need, and weshould steer to the area of spiritual persuit and get our inane filled with more valuable knowledge of the essence and true value of life.I want to lead a good life like theirs, whatever life is happy should be our only persuit. If there is a simple way to lead us to the happy world, then way not? Why should we make the world complex unduly? Why should we make the way to get happiness so complex unduly? Just as Lebanese poet Kahlil Gibran put:“We went too far to remember why start”。

Review of the Moive The Gods must be crazy First I will give a brief introduction of this film. The film is a collision of three separate stories—the journey of a Ju'hoansi bushman to the end of the earth to get rid of a Coca-Cola bottle, the romance between a bumbling scientist and a schoolteacher, and a band of guerrillas on the run.Xi and his band of San/Bushmen relatives are living well off the land in the Kalahari Desert. They are happy because the gods have provided plenty of everything, and no one in the tribe has unfulfilled wants. One day, a glass Coke bottle is thrown out of an aeroplane and falls to earth unbroken. Initially, this strange artifact seems to be another boon from the gods—-Xi's people find many uses for it. But unlike anything that they have had before, there is only one bottle to go around. This exposes the tribe to a hitherto unknown phenomenon, property, and they soon find themselves experiencing things they never had before: jealousy, envy, anger, hatred, even violence.Since it has caused the band unhappiness on two occasions, Xi decides that the bottle is an evil thing and must be thrown off of the edge of the world. He sets out alone on his quest and encounters Western civilization for the first time. The film presents an interesting interpretation of civilization as viewed through Xi's perceptions. There are also plot lines about shy biologist Andrew Steyn (Marius Weyers) who is studying the local animals (which, because of his nervousness around women, he once described as "manure-collecting"); the newly hired village school teacher, a former newspaper reporter named Kate Thompson (Sandra Prinsloo); and some guerrillas led by Sam Boga (Louw Verwey), who are being pursued by government troops after an unsuccessful attempt to massacre the Cabinet of the fictional African country of Burani. Also taking a share of the limelight is Steyn's Land Rover, dubbed the Antichrist (also "son of a mlakka") by his assistant and mechanic, M'pudi(Michael Thys), for its unreliability and constant need of repair. Also part of the chaos is a fresh safari tour guide named Jack Hind (Nic de Jager), who has designs on Thompson and would often steal Steyn's thunder.Xi happens upon a farm and, being hungry as well as oblivious to the concept of ownership, shoots a goat with a tranquilizer arrow. For this he is arrested and jailed for stealing livestock. M'pudi, who lived with the bushmen for a long time, realizes that Xi will die in the alien environment of a prison cell. He and Steyn manage to hire Xi as a tracker for the 11 weeks of his prison sentence, with the help of M'pudi, who speaks Xi's language. Meanwhile, the guerrillas invade the school where Kate teaches and use her and her pupils as human shields for their escape by foot to the neighboring country. Steyn and Xi manage to immobilize the guerrillas as they are passing by and save Kate and the children. Steyn allows Xi to leave to continue his quest to the edge of the world.Xi eventually finds himself at the top of a cliff with a solid layer of low-lying clouds obscuring the landscape below. This convinces Xi that he has reached the edge of the world, and he throws the bottle off the cliff. This scene was filmed at a place called God's Window in the then Eastern Transvaal, South Africa (now Mpumalanga). This is at the edge of the escarpmentbetween the Highveld and Lowveld of South Africa. Xi then returns to his band and receives a warm welcome. This movie is not a big budget action film, this movie is not an emotional soap opera, or a tearjerker, this is a simple little film about the simple things in life. This South African produced film has proven to be one of the best I have seen in quite a long time. N!xau, a native bushman plays a bushman in this movie. A coke bottle has destroyed his villages life as it has been proven to be an excellent tool, but everyone wants it. So the young Bushman is told by the village elders to throw the ‘evil thing' off the ends of the earth. On his long and perilous journey he runs into all kinds of different people, some terrorists, a man studying animals, an uptight urban teacher, and some trouble along the way, obviously. The movie is just so funny, the film is told from the point of view of the bushman, and is poignant as well. The movie manages to be very different, and extremely unconventional, at least by American standards.I have to admit I am glad I got to see this movie. A lot of great foreign films do not make it over to America, and that is sad, but this movie is excellent, it is funny, sweet, and all around one of the best movies I have seen. The writing is congruent and sharp, the performances do not at all seemed forced and the ensemble here manage to come off appropriately hilarious without taking away from the plot. There are some political overtones here as well, as the movie takes a few shots at apartheid, when it was still around. Also in my mind the movie is extremely satirical of the instability that the region faces. The funniest part of the movie were the terrorists. They were so incredibly inept and silly I couldn't help laugh at them. If they weren't tripping over closing doors they were tripping over themselves.Marius Weyers as the biologist who is clumsy but well meaning also steals the show, and his assistant, played by Louw Verway is excellent, but the real star of the show is N!Xau, who makes such an excellent lead and does wonderful here. What amazes me about him was he was about forty when he did this film. There is no way for him to know when he was born, but the man looks so youthful, it is incredible, I thought he was a teenager! Shows you how much I know. Anyway see this incredible film, it is more than worth it.。

1 When I saw the movie The God Must be Crazy, I was laughing so happily, the movie tells about the uncivilized world and the civilized world, the former is simple and happy while the latter is complicated and sensitive. People nowadays have to go to school since they are small, most students keep studying until they are graduate from college. They go to school for many reasons.

they go to school for learning knowledge, so that they can survive in the society. People live in the civilized world, they need to learn all kinds of skills, for the purpose of knowing the world and get used to the environment. Unlike the original world, people hunt for living, they don’t have so many things to learn, all they do is to find the food and keep themselves alive.
