一、知识与能力

1、掌握以下生单词和词组:

world, around the world , answer, different, cake, candle, age, make a wish, blow out,

if, will, candy, lucky, popular, get popular, cut up, idea, bring good luck to.

2、掌握下列句子:

(1).The answer would be different in different countries.

(2).The number of candles is the person’s age.

(3). If he or she blows out all the candles in one go, the wish will come true.

(4). They are a symbol of life and good luck.

(5). They bring good luck to the birthday person.

3. 培养学生快速阅读能力和查找目标信息以及归纳语篇中心意思的能力,帮助提升

学生注意力与记忆力;借助图片和信息复述课文。

二、学习策略

能根据阅读语篇内容构建思维导图,并且借助思维导图复述文章。

通过课文学习要了解不同的国家有不同的风俗习惯,同时享受英语所带来的美食文化之旅

StepⅠPre-reading activities

1. Review

Put the following into English.

1. 我想要一台电脑。

2. 他想要带有牛肉和西红柿的面条。

3. 他们不想要那些鸡蛋。

4. 她想要带有羊肉和卷心菜的面条吗?

5. 李蕾想去看电影。

6. 南希和王莉想去买东西。

Make the new sentences with the new words .

A: What do you like ?

B:I like … , … and ….

A: What don’t you like?

B: I don’t like … , …or….

Then make a survey in a group and do the report like this:

My name is …. I like…,… and …. I don’t like…,…or….

XXX likes…,…and …. She/He doesn’t like…,…or….

Step two warming up and leading in

T: Boys and girl , do you know what the date is today? Today is Sally’s birthday. Let’s say “ Happy birthday to you” . I know Sally likes cake .So I made a birthday cake for her! Do you like it? Show the picture of a birthday cake ,and teach the words candles birthday cake .

T: On Sally’s birthday, she likes eating birthday cake . Well, on you birthday, what do you usually eat or do? Let’ talk freely.

What do you usually do and do on your birthday ?

Eg: I usually eat …my friends usually give me some gifts, we do …together that day ; my mother always buys me …. My father buys me …

(设计意图:创设生日情景,使学生进入过生日的情景中去,有助于学生对于谈论食物的喜好,调动学生积极性)

Fast-reading

Read the passage fast and silently to find the general idea.(读取大意)
