3月28日，我们小记者来到了奉贤区都市菜园，开始了我
们的春游。
一进都市菜园，映入眼帘的是一大片绿油油的菜地，有萝卜、青菜、油菜……放眼望去，就像一片绿色的海洋。
菜地里有许多
游客，他们有的在拔青菜；有的在拔萝卜；还有的在摘蔬菜。
我和同学们也跃跃欲试，于是我们去找了一块空地开始拔菜了。
“加油！加油！”我喊着口号。
拔了一会儿，我就有点累了，可是看见别人都没有放弃，我又充满了信心。
突然我看见一块菜地里有许多萝卜，就想：“不如把这一大片萝卜全拔完吧！”我把萝卜的根拔干净后就去找别的蔬菜了。
突然，我看见一个小同学的衣服上有几个破洞，就跑过去问他：“你怎么穿成这样？”那
个小同学不好意思地说：“妈妈让我来这里摘菜。
”然后他摘了一根白菜给我说：“你吃吧，我还要摘别的菜呢！”我尝了一口，真好吃呀！于是我也摘了几根白菜给他吃。
在都市菜园里我们还玩了许多游戏：打水漂、射箭、坐小火车、滑滑梯……其中最有趣的要数滑滑梯了。

We went to the garden store and bought all the seeds and little starter plants for each vegetable. I also gota kid-sized shovel, gloves, and a cute little watering can just for me. I was so excited to get started!We planted the seeds and starters carefully, following the instructions on the seed packets for how deep to plant them and how far apart. My dad showed me how to water them gently but thoroughly every day. At first, nothing happened for a couple weeks and I started to get a little worried that my plants wouldn't grow. But then finally I saw the first tiny green shoots start to poke up from the soil! Over the next few weeks, they grew taller and taller. I loved watching my garden come to life.Once the plants were bigger, we put a fence around the whole garden area to keep any rabbits or squirrels from getting in and eating our yummy veggies. We also had to pull out any weeds that tried to grow between the plants. My least favorite garden task was probably getting rid of the icky bugs that tried to munch on the leaves and veggies. But my dad showed me some safe sprays to use that kept most of the bugs away.Finally, after months of watering, weeding, and waiting patiently, we started to see our first vegetables appear on the plants! I couldn't believe how amazing those first little tomatoes, beans and zucchinis looked. And they tasted even better than anything from the grocery store. There's nothing better thaneating food that you grew all by yourself! Over the summer we had enough cucumbers, peppers and tomatoes to make tons of salads and even pickles. The carrots took a while longer to fully grow, but they were worth the wait.My favorite part was getting to share my garden-grown veggies with my friends and family. My grandparents were so impressed that I grew all those yummy vegetables myself. I even entered some of my biggest tomatoes and zucchinis into our town's garden contest and won a couple of little ribbons! I was really proud.This year I'm already making plans to expand my garden a little bit and try growing some different vegetables like broccoli, spinach and corn. Gardening does take some hard work with all the watering, weeding and pest control. But it's so rewarding to watch those little seeds turn into big, productive plants.
