主题：你们误解since从句了吗？收藏本贴| 好友分享| 推广拿分点击:3953 | 回复:36 | 标签: 钻家笔记六级语法翻译我们中国人可能对since从句的用法和意义有很大的误解，since从句的确有一些常人匪夷所思的地方，查了一总结如下：since从句虽然都是肯定句式，但翻译为汉语的时候，根据情况，有时翻译为肯定句式，有时翻译为否定句式。
什么时候翻译为肯定句式，什么时候翻译为否定句式呢？在这之前先说一下，英语的动词可分为延续性动词和非延续性动词两种。
延续性动词就是动作不是瞬间完成，而持续延时的过程，如enjoy,live,see,work,have,tast,stay,have,know,sit,smoke,write等等，延续性动词还包动词，如be＋地点或形容词。
非延续性动词就是动作干脆利落、瞬间(很快)完成，如leave,begin,found,born l等等。
我自己为了容易形象理解，把延续性动词叫作“线动词”，非延续性动词叫做“点动词”，在时间轴上，一个象线段象点。
很多线动词都对应一个点动词，如be(here)对应leave，be(adj)对应fall(adj)，be(sth)对应become(sth),live eave，see对应depart，等等。
since从句翻译为汉语后的两种不同意义(肯定和否定)，就同since从句中动词的延续性有直接关系。
试看下面的例子：How long is it since you were in London?这句话你会怎么翻译成汉语？你会说“你在伦敦有多久了？”吗？那你就错了！！！英语人说这句话的意思是“你离开伦敦有多久了”或者“你不在伦敦有多久了”。
为什么会是这样？为什么翻译为汉语，就把本来肯定的句式说成了否定句式或相反的意思？我想这大概是英语和汉语思维习惯不同的缘故，英语很重视动词的时态，一个动词有很多时态和语态的变化，这和语态的变化，成为表达意义不可或缺的一部分，词的形态变化语法上称为屈折。
据学者研究，最古的汉语也有语法现象，但是后来的发展摈弃了屈折，汉语动词的时态和语态全靠副词、状语、补语和上下文来表达与体会所以，从英语翻译到汉语，要把动词的时态翻译到句子的意思中去，这是直接的译法，为了更合乎汉语习惯，动间状态被我们弱化了，省去了一些副词和状语，这是意译法。
再来看这句英语How long is it since you were in London?采取直接翻译就是：有多久了，自从你结束呆在伦敦以后？注意：were (in London)是动词be的过去时，所以翻译为汉语，就要把“过去的动作，已经结束”这个意思翻我的方法是在“呆在伦敦”之前加上“结束”两个字来表明动作的时态。
这样直接翻译以后，你可能就明白了，英语思是“时间有多久了，从你呆在伦敦这段时间的尾巴上算起！”，如果你还不明白，就在草稿上画一条时间轴来ince从句一定是从时间轴上的一个点来算起的，这个点要么是“点动词”，要么是“线动词”的开头或者结尾，如词”是过去时，就从“线动词”过去(结束)的那一点算起。
所以，把动词的时态也翻译到句子中，将对句子的整体生很大的影响！（汉语的动词时态弱化，时间延续性也弱化，所以汉语组词造句更加灵活，无论文化深浅的人都但是要理解和表达得更雅致、更精确就需要更高的驾驭能力了）为了把这句话翻译的更合汉语习惯，我们常说“你不在伦敦有多久了”，或者用反义词替代原来句中的动词“你离有多久了”。
知道这样的“逆向”翻译是怎么来的，对正确理解英语是有帮助的！汉语中“你在伦敦有多久了”“你来伦敦有多久了”“你到伦敦有多久了”都是一个意思，但如果照字面翻译就有问题中的“你在伦敦有多久了”只能说成“How long is it since you came to London?”，如果说成“How long nce you were in London?”就是“你离开伦敦有多久了”。
这两个英语句子中动词的过去时，如果照字面直接是“自从你过去到伦敦”“自从你结束在伦敦”，点动词的过去时翻译为“过去做什么”，线动词的过去时翻译为“结么”。
解释得很罗嗦吧，哈哈^_^下面多看一些例子，这些例子中的since从句都翻译为否定句式。
汉语说“我们已经两年没有看到对方了”“我们没有看到对方已经两年了”，这句话翻译为英语用since从句怎么It is two years since we saw each other. （现在两年了，自从我们结束看到对方=> 现在两年了，自从有看到对方[的那刻]。
=> 现在两年了，自从我们分别=> 我们现在已经两年没有看到对方了=> 我们现在已经年了）在这个例子中，since从句就从肯定句式翻译为否定句式了。
或者说，since从句中的过去时被翻译为“没有”或“没有做什么”或“不再做什么”就表示“做什么”是“过去了的、结束了的”过去时态。
我在说明的过程中用“结束”这表示英语的时态。
It's years since I enjoyed myselfe so much.([现在]几年了，自从我结束玩得这么享受以后，这是罗嗦的翻说得更流畅一点，我[现在]几年没有玩得这么开心了。
)She has written to me frequently since I was ill.(她现在一直频繁写信给我自从我结束生病以后，罗嗦得法，简练一点，她现在一直频繁写信给我自从我病愈以后，也就是，自从我不再生病以后。
)试比较She has written to me frequently since I fell ill.(她现在一直频繁写信给我自从我过去落病以来，自从我过去得病以来)We haven't seen each other since she lived next door to me.(我们[现在]一直没有看到对方，自从她结我隔壁以后，也就是说，我们[现在]一直没有看到对方，自从她[过去]从我隔壁搬走以后)It's been quite some time since I was last in London.([现在]已经好长一段时间了自从我上次结束呆在后，也就是说，[现在]已经好长一段时间了自从我上次不再呆在伦敦以来，也就是说，自从我上次离开伦敦[至好长一段时间了)It is almost fourteen years since I saw him.([现在]几乎十四年了自从我结束见到他，也就是说，[现在]几年了自从我不再见到他，也就是说，[现在]我差不多十四年没有见过他了)在上面的since从句中，线动词的过去时就是“结束做什么”，“结束”就是“不再”，“不再”就是“没有”。
反之，转换到英语，“没有做什么”就是“不再做什么”，“不再做什么”就是“结束做什么”，也就是线动词的过去时。
当since从句修饰的主句用了过去时或过去完成时，since从句可用过去完成时，例如：I said that it was at least ten years since I had enjoyed a dood drink.(我[当时]说道，[到当时]至少自从我[当时之前]不再[即结束]痛痛快快地喝一顿，也就是说，我说我至少十年没有痛痛快快地喝一顿了)把since从句中动词的过去时或过去完成时，翻译为动作“不再进行和延续”的意思，也即汉语口语中所说的“没再补充一个例子Three long years had passed over my head since I had tasted ale, wine or liquo y kind.([那时]漫长的三年已经越过了我的头顶，自从我[那时之前]不再[即结束]品尝啤酒、葡萄酒或任何一种酒也就是说，[那时]我已经整整三年没有品尝过啤酒、葡萄酒或任何一种酒了)【汉语翻译往往把英语中鲜明的时态特征给弱化了，那些表示时态的副词“那时”“那时之前”常常省略了，因为句态很容易在语境中体会到，不必每句话都强调和突出】It was quite a while since they had been to the theatre.([那时]有好长一段时间了，自从[那时之前]他们再去剧场以后，也就是说，[那时]他们已经有好长一段时间没有去剧场了。
)It had been a very long time since I had been in a zoo.([那时]已经有很长一段时间，自从[那时之前]我再去动物园以后，也就是说，[那时]我已经有很长一段时间没有去动物园了)Since he lived here,I have not seen him.(自从他不再住在这里，[至今]我就没有见过他，也就是说，自从里搬走以后，[至今]我就没有见过他)Since he was in Guangzhou,there has been a great change.(自从他不再呆在广州以后，[至今]已经有的变化，也就是说，Since he left Guangzhou,there has been a great change.自从他离开广州以后，[至有了很大的变化)Since从句中如果线动词是现在完成时，则表示该线动词至今仍在延续，而不是至今不再延续，所以翻译为汉语定句式。
这与线动词是过去时的情况相反，过去时那种情况表示动作已经在过去结束、不再延续。
试着看下面Since he has been in the army,he has lost a lot of weight.(在他[现在]一直呆在部队的时间，他[现在掉了很多体重)Since he was in the army,he has lost a lot of weight.(自从他不再呆在部队以后，他[现在]已经减掉了重)Since he joined the army,he has lost a lot of weight.(自从他[过去]参加部队以后，他[现在]已经减掉了重)再如：My elder sister hasn't written to me since I have lived in the countryside.(我姐姐[现在]一直没有写我，在我[现在]一直住在乡村的时间，也就是说My elder sister hasn't written to me since I came to li he countryside.自从我[过去]迁居到乡村以后，我姐姐[现在]一直没有写信给我)come是一个点动词，since从句中如果是点动词的过去时，则翻译为汉语的意义是“自从[过去]做过什么以后”点动词发生的时间算起，因为点动词的发生和结束在感觉上几乎是同一个点，这时since从句的汉语翻译和英都是肯定句式，达到了形式上的一致。
