How has the world changed since you were a child?

•Technology has been greatly improved; we have benefited a lot from the electronic wonders, urban constructions, medical cares, innovations in industry. Along with all these changes, one is so eminent that it could never be recovered. The cost of environment is increasing year by year. We could have the air conditioner in the heat, but it is only because of the warmer and warmer climate. We could move faster and more conveniently by using cars, it may because we want to see much greener and quieter places.

•We are used to driving miles away to find a grass land.

•We used to spend a lot of constructive time with family and friends. We went fishing, hiking anywhere we wanted.

•We are used to talking on phones and going -online conversations with friends thousands miles away because of the crowded streets and noisy surroundings.

•We are used to playing time and money to get rid of destructive activities and doing sth. Constructive.

•We may do without some of the changes, since we are the master of the technology, no the slave of the technology.

•Traditional virtues are always cherished.

•No matter east or west, family is always our motivation for life.

•Environmental protection is being attached great importance.

•Problems along with the coming of internet are being addressed by many people.

•Do you think modern technology reduces or increases stress?

Why?

•Over the past 30 years, we have accumulated great wealth with the enormous achievement of modern technologies. Better homes, good jobs, paid holidays; fancy grades commodities are available to most of use. The material discomfort has been banished, only a few of people are living under sub conditions. But the affordable housing doesn’t improve our sleeping; paid vacation doesn’t better our relationship with families and friends. Fancy grades commodities can never satisfy our children who seem to be less and less satisfied in their life.

•Extra wealth doesn’t bring us wonders and surprises. We feel burdened, stressed and worried. It seems all our problems are unmatched to our increasing wealth.

•Why? In order to increase our wealth, we sacrifice our time with families, relations, communities, hobbies. Lack of contact with our social circle makes us more stressful when we encounter difficulties and frustrations.
