英语首先是一种语言，对初学者来说它是个未知世界，也是个神秘的新鲜事物。
1.引导初中学生建立正确的语言观通常学生初学时兴趣较高，学到一定时期后，有些学生会出现疲倦情形。
这就要帮助学生建立正确的语言观，为学生创造轻松、和谐的氛围，激发其求知欲。
在教学中，对学生进行听力训练首先应创设一定的语言环境，语言环境是非常重要的。
比如，美国三岁的小孩都能说一口流利的英语，因此，我们在英语课上要尽量使用英语，这需要一个循序渐进的过程。
在寓教于乐中，让学生懂得学习英语并不是一朝一夕能成的，而是要日积月累形成的。
2.培养学生的意志力——即情商情商（emotion quotient）是一种非智力因素，也是一种控制情绪的能力。
意志力较高的人能正确认识自我的学习，及时调节、控制自我与环境的关系；善于激励自我，面对困难善于调整自我心态，能够化挫折为动力。
教师在教学过程中应尽力增强学生的意志力。
第一，教师的良好形象和个性魅力会牢牢吸引学生，会使学生大脑皮层始终处于兴奋状态，激活学生大脑，提高听力效率。
第二，利用多媒体、实物投影仪等现代化教学手段，创设丰富多彩、情趣高雅的语言情景。
引导学生积极参与课堂，即使在听力测试中碰到难题，也会把注意力始终放在对整体内容的理解上。
二、营造和谐氛围，扩大听的渠道1.静听课堂上教师进行听力训练时，要坚持用英语组织教学，营造一个良好的英语氛围，让每一位学生多听并注意发音，必须要求学生保持安静，不论是对整体内容的把握，还是语音、语调的辨别，学生都应集中注意力，通过听音进行，听与思结合，不能急于答题。
